Chapter 12

Triffany looked at him with her cheek blushing she shook her head. "You won't love pizza. I'm sorry." She staggered backwards, turning to walk away.
Carlos blinks as he saw her walking away. "Hey! You...stop there!"
How can she just kiss him and walk away, she must be pretending not to know him now.
Triffany turned and looked at him slowly. "Do you know me?" She asked him cleaning her eyes.
Carlos looked at her surprised. "Don't you know me?" He asked.
Triffany looked at him more closely blinking her eyes. "No." She shook her head. "But your face looks...kind of dazzling." She smiled. "Why are you spinning?" She asked him and bent down then she threw up.
Carlos walked close to her. "Hey, get a hold of yourself." He told her.
Triffany smiled. "I have to go now. Bye." She waved her hand and sat down on the floor.
Carlos looked at her. "She's wasted." He shook his head and then lifts her. "I'll help you up." He told her, he couldn't leave her here even if he doesn't love her.
Triffany looked at him with a smile. "You're different from an asshole I met recently." She told him with her drunk voice.
Carlos walked her to his car where he got into the backseat with her and told Shanne to drive. Triffany smiled. "Whoa...the smell of a wealthy car." She sniffs then leans close to Carlos. "Where are you taking me to?" She looked out of the window. "Stars. Plug one for me." She told him with a cute smile.
"You're drunk," Carlos told her. He couldn't believe the girl who he met on that road that day, could behave this way.
She leans close to him and closed her eyes, then mutters under her breath. "I want to leave this noisy country...that jerk...that asshole...who does he think he is... marriage...tsk." She sighed.
"Sir where are we heading?" Shanne Cole asked while driving.
Carlos looked at the lady who was leaning close to him. "I can't leave her outside at this state. Take us to my mansion. She will stay there for the night." He told Shanne.
His eyes were still on Triffany who puts her head on his shoulder and was muttering under her breath what he couldn't understand. He knew the news too must have shocked her, for just this night, she could stay this close to his body since she's this drunk.
Triffany parent called Tiffany's line but she was not picking her calls. Trevor looked at the time. "How can she be outside by this time." It was eleven o'clock and Triffany have never stayed out this late.
Laura's face was filled with worry. "She did not call us to inform us." She looked at her husband.
"Is she still not answering her phone?" Trevor asked.
Laura shook her head. "No. Let me call Nike to know if she is sleeping over there "
Laura called Nick who answered on the first ring. "Hello, aunty Laura." He greeted.
"I'm sorry for calling you this late." Laura apologizes, hearing Nike's voice made her know she had just disturbed his sleep.
"No problem." Nick response. He knew it was odd for aunty Laura to call him this late. "Is anything the matter?" He asked.
"Triffany, is she at your place? She's not picking her call." Laura asked him.
"No." Nike sat upon his bed. "I saw her leave the house with Allison this afternoon. Let me put Allison on the line, she would know better." Nick told her.
"Please do," Laura said with little hope and panic. Where would her daughter be, it was not at her cousin's place.
"Allison...here. Tiffany's mother wants to speak with you." He passed the phone over to his younger sister.
"Hello, aunty Laura." Allison greeted.
"Allison I'm sorry to be disturbing you this late, but do you have an idea where Triffany is?" She asked. "She not back home," Laura told her.
Allison looked at the time and was afraid. "She should be back at this time." She looked at Nike whose eyes were also filled with worry.
"What happened?" Laura asked without hesitation.
"We were together until she got a job in a restaurant and head out for deliveries. We separated at that place and I have not heard from her since then." Allison told her.
Laura's face was very worried now. "The restaurant should be close for the day now."
Allison's eyes were wet now. "She was too busy, I should have called her," Allison said blaming herself. On the record, Triffany was so stubborn but she has never stayed out late.
"It's not your fault Allison," Laura told her. "She's not picking up and it's close to midnight."
"I shouldn't have left her alone," Allison said in tears.
"Don't worry Allison. We would check on her by tomorrow." Laura said.
"I'm sorry aunty Laura."
"Goodnight Allison," Laura said before ending the call.
Allison turned to her brother. "I shouldn't have left Triffany alone, what if... something bad happened to her." Allison's eyes were filled with worry.
Nike sat down. "She always makes people worry about her, I wonder when she would grow up. If she's left alone she does mistakes." He sighed trying to call her line again.
...
Gabby Zack came out of her room and saw her brother drinking wine. "Hey, Carlos." She sat close to him and asked. "What are you still doing up this late?"
Carlos looked at her. "Just thinking." He replied lazily.
"Do you mind if I join you?" She asked him.
"No, I don't." He poured a glass of wine for her. "To tell you the truth, you seem different at night." He told her with a smile looking at her.
Gabby looked at him. "Hey don't start now, else you won't love the next me that could spring up in seconds," Gabby told him, sipping her wine.
Carlos chuckled at his funny sister. "Okay miss, I quit."
They both laugh and Gabby became serious. "I saw you with a lady when you came inside. Who was that?" She asked curiously.
"Oh, that..." Carlos sipped his wine. "A drunk somebody, can't leave her out there alone." He told his sister.
Gabby looked at her brother with surprise. "And when did you start helping drunk ladies or start caring if a person is drunk or in danger." She asked her brother.
"I have to be a gentleman." He told her, rubbing his eyes gently.
Gabby could not believe it, she had not seen the face clearly but she knew he carried her into his guest room. "Is this lady a whore you hanged out with to drown your frustrations?" She asked with her brow slightly raised.
Though she knew her brother was not like this, this was the only case scenario since he had been down these few days
"Hey, baby sister...I'm not like that, you should know your brother very well." He told her, drinking his wine.
Gabby still can't believe she wasn't a whore, the way he held her close and careful, she just can't accept it. "Really...what happened to the statement of you loving only Kelsey?" She asked him.
Carlos looked very tired at this moment, he took a long sip of his wine. "I still do Gabby. This lady is she..." He looked at his sister.
"Who's she?" Gabby asked. She thinks for a while and then her eyes flashed. "The one with who you have rumours?" She asked.
Carlos shoots her forehead lightly. "I don't have rumours with that lady."
Gabby rob her forehead gently. "Okay. The one the press have a wrong idea about?" She asked sipping her wine.
"Yes." He answered his gaze was very distant. "I just can't leave her there, drunk. She's a pain whenever I see her." He exhaled.
Gabby looked at her brother silently. "I wonder how you're going to survive since she would be your wife next week." She told him.
Carlos looked at his sister. "Hey! We've not decided that yet." He told her indifferently.
Gabby looked at her brother in sympathy. "I feel your pains brother if only I can help." She told him.
Carlos seems to get an idea and he looked at her seriously. "You can help." He told her.
Gabby knew that looks on her brother's face and shakes her head. "You better not have any nasty idea. Count me out of it." She told him.
"Just help a brother, count it as you acting one of your childish dramas." He pleaded.
Gabby turned her eyes on him and looked at him with a little glare. "For a start Carlos, you're crazy." She told him. Knowing fully well what her brother wants her to do. "You want me to embarrass myself in public right?"
She stands up, she was not ready to list to his nasty ideas. "So much for drinking wine with you at night. You only get more stupid at night." She told him
She was not scared of her brother, even if others fear him, she was not. "Goodnight Carlos." She told him and left for her room.
Carlos sighed and sip his wine. "It would be a good idea if only she would help a bit."
