Chapter 138
Alison walked into the VIP room at the hospital where Triffany sat with her phone in her hand scrolling it idly.
"Triffany, what are you up to?" Alison has come in and noticed that Triffany was too focused on her phone to know that she was in there and Triffany quickly raised her eyes and glanced at Alison.
"You are here," Triffany said softly letting out a sharp sigh.
Alison drew out the chair beside the bed and sat down as she looked at her cousin sister. "Why do you look so pale?" She asked and held Tiffany's hands as she rubs them softly. "Do you still feel unwell?" She questioned as a worried line appeared on her brows but Triffany shook her head and put down her phone.
She patted her lips to fill Alison about what had happened with Carlos and how he had left immediately he came in just because a lady had called him, but she pressed her lips together since it may not be what she was thinking that it was, it was too early to jump into conclusions and Alison was also going to say that to her.
"I am fine." Triffany forced a smile and put down the phone she held in her hand, she was going to speak to Carlos when he gets back to the hospital, after all, it was because of her that he missed most of the important meetings in the company.
"Have you had anything to eat yet, you know so well that you have to take care of the baby you are carrying in your womb?" Alison asked with a smile on her lips, if there was someone else that knows about the baby then that was Alison and she talks a lot about the child that was not born yet and to add to it all, Alison cried so much when she heard Triffany was in the hospital because of a gunshot, the only people who knew nothing about this was Tiffany's parents, they were out from the state on a vacation and it would worry her parents if they heard she got a gunshot wound and she doesn't want that.
"Carlos got me something to eat." Triffany glanced down at her stomach and rubs it.
"Damn it, he is such a loving husband and I can't imagine you badmouthed him all this while you were married to him." Alison chuckled softly and Triffany pressed her lips together without sniffling a laugh and Alison noticed this. "Don't tell me you still think he isn't caring?" She asked and Triffany glanced up at Alison.
"He is, I know he is..." She lets out a sigh and Alison noticed her worn out looks and tilt her head to the side.
"What is wrong Triffany?" She asked while she stared intently at Triffany.
Triffany knew she couldn't hide anything from her cousin Alison, she and Alison has been so close and shared secrets, but this time she was not willing to tell her about Carlos, no, it wasn't so right, perhaps she was only overreacting with all these mixed-up thoughts and perhaps it got something to do with her pregnancy.
"It's nothing." Triffany shook her head and she knew Alison won't give up until she spill the bean so she made something up. "I am just bored and so glad you came over, so, tell me what you are up to these days," Triffany asked, anything that could get her off the thoughts of Carlos and that lady.
"Well, there is nothing much, I have been having tests and exams and I must tell you that all those are difficult." Alison exhaled sharply and Triffany smile.
"Well, that was what I and Nick went through, I am sure you will sail through it all too, you are almost finishing aren't you?" Triffany sat up since this happened to be working.
"Well, I am glad I don't have to go for a four years course, I feel so tired." She leaned close to the bed and placed her hand on her chin. "Should I just quit now?"
"I told you not to end up like me Alison, you have to study hard," Triffany said seriously but Alison shook her head.
"If it were possible, I would like to end up like you," She curled her lips up and Triffany raised the corner of her brows curiously to know what about her that would make Alison hope to turn out like her.
Alison could tell that Triffany was waiting for more explaining so she went on. "It doesn't matter how long you had to search for a job, you still ended up getting married to a billionaire and what more, he is deeply in love with you, even if she wasn't in love with you at first and to top it all, you both have a baby on the way, so why shouldn't I end up like you?" Alison had a smile spread through her lips and Triffany chuckled.
"I still wouldn't want you to pass through what I passed through, the long wait of having to search for a job and the frustration of getting married to a man I don't love and who doesn't love me back, also, the struggles I went through until he finally falls in love with me."
Alison shook her head. "I don't care about the process Triffany, if you can pass through, then I can also sail through it, as long as the result is being in love and living happily ever after."
Triffany raised the corner of her lips, if only it was really a happily ever after then she shouldn't have anything to worry about.
First was suppressing all the tears while Carlos loved Kelsey and having to deal with that, then came Jimmy and then the pain, was it really a happily ever after for them, or was it going to be something else?
"Guess what Triffany," Alison said sharply when she recalled something and Triffany raised the corner of her brows.
"What is it?"
"Nick is in love." Alison spat out and Triffany shook her head nonchalantly.
"I know he is in love with his games, it's not really a new thing." Triffany glanced over to her phone, she was expecting Carlos to call her or send her a text message but there was nothing for the past two hours he was away and one thing she hated was being clingy.
"Not a game Triffany, Nick is in love with a lady." Alison burst the words out and Triffany first squinted as she tried to process the words and in a brief moment her eyes dilated.
"A lady?" Her eyes dilated and Alison nod in response. "Unbelievable!"
