WHAT IS HAPPENING
Freda's POV
It all happened too fast. One minute I was sitting in that room, holding on to the little hope I had, my heart racing as I told myself everything would be okay, Williams can’t kill me, I Just pray he doesn’t hurt my mum. Someone walked in and I didn’t even look up. The rope on my leg was loose and I was being pulled out of the room, my wrists still tied together, I could feel the rope digging into my skin.
I was breathing hard as I tried to keep up with the man dragging me down the dark hallway. He was moving too fast, I was using every last bit of energy I had to keep up with him. His grip on my hand was too tight, the pain in my wrist was excruciating.
“Please, please let me go!” I cried, my voice trembling as I stumbled behind him. “I won’t say anything, I swear! No one has to know!”
My pleas were ignored. He didn’t even look back at me or show any remorse. I just hope I won’t die. I was certain he was a vampire, his touch was too cold. I hadn’t seen his face in the mansion before so he might not know I used to be their queen. Again I begged but he didn’t stop to look at me, he just kept pushing me.
He opened the door and the light from the sun hit my eyes. Haven’t been outside since I was captured, can’t even count how many days I’ve been tied and locked up. Before I could even process what was happening I was pushed into the back of a van, my knees hit the seat in front of me, the space was too small.
I tried to move my legs but the man followed in after me, his body blocking the only exit and pushing my legs. He pulled out a syringe from his pocket, I didn’t even have time to react before I felt the needle go into my skin.
“No, no, wait….” I managed to get out, my vision already blurring as the drug coursed through my veins.
I felt my head grow heavy, my eyes closing, I lost hold of myself as my head fell to the side. The last thing I remember before everything went black was the man laying me down on the back seat and the legs being tied.
When I woke up again, the car was moving. My head felt foggy. Slowly I remembered everything that had happened, and my limbs feel heavy and useless. I could hardly move. My mouth was so dry but i didn’t have the guts to ask for water, afraid of being drugged again,
Where am I? What’s happening? I turned to look outside the window. We were in a forest, no sign of any being just tall trees. At this point I wasn’t sure if I was in New York.
I tried to sit up, my body in pain with every small movement. The ropes around my wrists had loosened slightly, but I still couldn’t move freely. The men in the front seats were talking quietly, their voices too low for me to make out.
I could still feel the effects of the drugs I was injected with, it made me feel weak and heavy. I couldn’t even think straight. Thankfully I am alive. I just hope I am taken to a place where I can easily escape and find my mother.
Suddenly, the van jerked forward. My body slammed into the side of the vehicle, my head hitting the window in the process. I Winced from the sharp pain in my head. A man appeared in front of the van, and the driver immediately stopped the car.
"What… what’s going on?" I whispered, my voice hoarse.
Before I could even attempt to make sense of it, the doors to the van flew open. A man who I could tell is a vampire from his fangs opened the driver's door. In less than a minute he snapped his head.
No… I shouted as I saw the head fall to the floor and blood on the windshield,
I lowered myself, pressing myself into the corner of the van, hoping he wouldn't see me and kill me.
The other man in the front seats left out, slamming the doors behind them. Through the narrow windows, I saw him fighting with the vampire. Now two vampires were fighting,
I frantically looked around for something, anything that I could use to free myself. My hands were shaking, my fingers fumbling with the ropes around my wrists, the knot loosened, and I slipped my hands free.
Without wasting a second, I removed the ropes binding my legs together. The rope on my legs was really tight but I was still able to remove it.
My heart was racing, adrenaline finally pushing aside the effect of whatever I was injected with. I needed to get out of here, and fast. This might be my last opportunity.
I turned back to see where the two vampires were fighting. I saw a gun, lying on the floor at the back of the van. I stretched my hands quietly as I grabbed it, the cold metal sending a shock through my system. I had never held a gun before, but I didn’t have time to think about that now. I just need to survive.
With the pistol clenched tightly in my hands, I edged toward the open door of the van.
I tiptoed toward the side of the van, as I moved closer I could hardly breathe. The vampire that killed the human had his back turned to me, fighting with the other vampire that was in the van and had injected me.
This is my chance.
My finger hovered over the trigger as I took a deep breath, trying to steady my shaking hands. I could do this. I had to do this. I tried to motivate myself as I hid by the side of a van pointing the gun at the vampire that injected me.
But before I could pull the trigger, the vampire turned, his red eyes locking onto mine for a split second. He was fast, too fast. One moment, I was about to fire, the next, he had moved with lightning speed, his hand grabbing my wrist and twisting it painfully. The gun slipped from my grasp, clattering to the ground.
I barely had time to scream before he picked me up, throwing me over his shoulder like I weighed nothing.
"Let me go!" I screamed, pounding my fists weakly against his back.
Everything became so blurry, he was moving too fast. I suddenly felt like throwing up as I saw how fast we were moving. I couldn’t talk anymore. I closed my eyes, giving up as I felt dizzy.
