FORGIVENESS

Freda's pov

Was it too much? I asked, sending her away seemed extreme. That was what my father wanted. There was nothing I could say or do to change his mind.

"You won't separate me from my children, Winston, I won't let you," Amelia said. Lilly was already crying.

"I kind of feel sorry for her," Kara said, and I nodded, I felt sorry for her too.

"Don't make me get the guards involved, Amelia. Leave quietly."

"Father, don't do this," Lilly rushed to my father's feet and Winston sighed.

"Say goodbye to your mother Lily," Father said and turned away from them, leaving the room with the rest of us in it.

"You!" Amelia said, coming hastily towards me, but Kara stepped in front of her before she could reach me, acting like a bodyguard.

"Don't you dare, Amelia" she warmed and Lily ran to hold her mother's arm.

"Let go of me, you will regret this, I promise you," Amelia said, pointing her finger at me. I folded my arms and just watched her. All I felt towards her was pity not anger, so I watched her silently.

"Let her be Amelia, we don't want any trouble" I heard my mother say and Amelia turned towards her.

"You! You are the reason why he's doing this, if you hadn't shown up I would have been pardoned or overlooked, but no you just had to ruin everything, like mother like daughter, you go everywhere, ruining everything you touch" she spat out and her words pained me, but before I could reply her my mother had put her in her place and Amelia was walking out of the room with her son following behind her.

"Why is Lilly still here?" Kara asked me and I shrugged. I knew father had asked his children to stay, but I didn't think they would leave their mother and stay with father. After all, she always had their backs.

"I don't know, but I need to go lie down," I staggered and Kara turned to hold me, my mother was at my side in an instant.

"Are you okay?" She asked and I nodded.

"Freda" I heard my name and I turned to see Lilly standing behind me.

"I don't want any trouble, Lilly. I wasn't the one that told on your mother," I said, and she smiled, which surprised me. Lilly was smiling at me. Why?

"I just wanted to see if you were alright," she said, speaking calmly to me for the first time in forever, and I was shocked, my mouth hanging open.

"I am sorry Freda, I know I have been mean and have no right to apologize for anything and everything, but I hope you can forgive me. I was really scared when I heard what happened."

"W-why were you scared? I mean you hate me," I said, and she smiled.

"Erhm, maybe not hate. I was just jealous of you, Father loved you so much even though he was terrible at showing it, he let you do things your way and never for once did he let me do anything by myself. I just got so jealous a-and I couldn't come out of it," she said.

"It may have seemed that way, but I never had things my way. I was always looking up to the way Father addressed you and commended you if you did wolf duties"

"Father was hard on me and I was jealous. He would let you go to the playground and do anything you wanted. I was jealous of a lot of things, Freda, when you got your mate before me, when he happened to be a good-looking king. I was jealous of a lot" she stifled a bitter laugh. "I am sorry Freda. I truly am"

I took a moment to gaze at Lilly for a very long time, studying her emotions. For the first time, I felt a genuine aura from my step sister, her eyes were wary and I knew she was overwhelmed with emotions. Her mother had just been kicked out and she could hardly process all that was happening, she deemed it fit to apologize to me.

"I appreciate your sincerity, Lilly" I wrapped my palm around hers. "This means a lot to me and yes, I forgive you. Who am I not to?"

She smiled. "Thank you, Freda". With a quiet walk, she left the room. Kara laughed out loud, more in a mocking manner.

"No, stop" I warned her. "That was sincere."

"Well, I hope it because she's a dramatic queen."

"At least she's a queen." I sulked and Kara rolled her eyes.

"Oh, please don't start"

My mother walked up to us. I had forgotten she was still standing on the scene. She sat beside me and wrapped her hands around me. "You're Damien's queen. No one can take that" she said.

"I hope that remains the truth" I muttered softly. "Tell me, mum, you saw Damien last. How is he?"

"The last time I saw him was when he was so determined to rescue you. He loves you, that I am sure of."

"If he did, he would be by my bedside" My eyes went teary for all reasons.

"Hey, don't bother yourself with little matter like that. Get healed first and then we can decide what next to do, okay?

I nodded as she pulled me into a hug and Kara joined in.

"Mum, let's talk about you. Now that Amelia is gone, do you wish to return to Father?" Her face sank for some time before ut brightened again.

"Your father and I still have a lot to catch up on," she said. "Don't worry yourself with this information Freda. When the time is right, we'll figure it all out."

"I want you back in our life, Mum. I want to experience the feeling of having a complete family once again."

"You don't need parental figures to achieve a family feeling. Freda, as long as you're surrounded by people who love you, they are family."
