NO STALKING, JUST DATING

Damien's Pov

While he watched, I walked into Freda's apartment. I didn't want him to think I was just a stalker, Freda was mine, my wife, my queen.

The sound of his engine started after I had left. Whether he believed it or not I wasn't just a guy in the street who was bullying him so I could get Freda but I was the vampire who almost killed him that night because he messed with Freda.

He was useful at the end of the day. Bringing Freda home was a nice and uncalled gesture, but I never wanted her to be in such a position again where she would need saving…from other men…boys.

When I got in, Christie greeted me and immediately requested that she serve dinner. I accepted and she glided off with joy. I was staying over with Freda tonight. I had rounded up the affairs of the kingdom and I had missed my wife.

Getting into her room, I met Freda undressing. Tempting as always, but that wasn't what I meant to address first. She was startled when she saw me. It was either she was not expecting me or because I didn't knock.

"It hasn't even been a week Freda. Parties?"

Her eyes bulged at first and then lowered as she looked at her feet like she had just been caught stealing candy.

"I deserve some explanation."

"You wouldn't understand." She completely pulled her dress off, revealing her red plush nipples, which almost distracted me.

"I want to…understand." I stuttered after words failed me when I glanced at her panty. A beautiful set that she had probably gotten new. I was mad at the idea that she would get new underwear for this occasion because I was meant to be the only one seeing it.

"I've always wanted to party, Damien. Kara always got the invite, but not me because I was a hybrid"Her face fell. "This party here made me excited."

"But did you look into the guests that would be available? Or those who invited you?"

"They are schoolmates…popular girls. Everyone knows them"

"Does knowing everyone means they are safe?"

"Nothing would have happened, Damien. Don't stretch this further."

"I am stretching this?"

"Yes, you are. It's not a big deal."

"It is a big deal. Because some low life human weak dumb boys, would have raped you or Christie and your so-called popular girls would have taped it and broadcasted it to the school group"

"That wouldn't have happened. Who told you that?"

"Seth did. And if it wasn't for him today, maybe a lot of life would have been lost. Because the wolves I put in charge, would NOT watch you being treated unfairly. And there probably would have been a case in this human world about the supernatural which would be your fault!"

"You know Seth?" Her eyes shot up as she walked toward me. "How do you know Seth?" Her face twisted in a frown. "And did you say you put werewolves in charge to watch me?"

"Yes, I did."

"You're doing it again."

"What?"

"That thing that almost caused our separation." Her tone raised higher, anger swelling in her. "You're shutting me off again. Putting me behind closed doors."

"I am not doing that."

"You're watching my every step."

"It's for protection."

"You are not letting me do whatever that makes me happy. This is not the freedom I asked for Damien."

"Freda…"

"Do you derive a lot of joy in watching me be unhappy? Watching me stay indoors all day, not making friends not having fun."

"I do not!" I snapped.

"Then what is all this Damien? Why are you stalking me?"

"Stalk? Freda, stalk. I am your husband."

"WE ARE NOT MARRIED!"

I froze. My eyes seemed to cloud the moment she shouted. I had not said too much, it was proper for me to scold her for going to an unknown party.

"We are just mates, Damien. To hell, we have not even been marked yet."

"You are my Queen, Freda. You were crowned beside me with love and loyalty."

"And that Queen can be dethroned if her King keeps behaving like she was going to run off if he doesn't put her on a leash."

"You did once, I don't wanna lose you, Freda."

"I did that because you wouldn't let me be. And I would not hesitate to do that again if you keep on with your unbidden protection"

I was not only horrified at her response but my heart sank. Freda was upset, but she had said a lot, too much precisely. All I ever wanted to do was ensure that she had nothing to worry about.

"I think we can both agree that you see me as weak, indecisive, and unstable. Just like others have seen me from the moment I existed."

"Don't speak like that."

She dashed to the wardrobe and put on her night wear covering her naked self from me as she tried to walk out of the room. Since I stood in front of the doir, I wouldn't let her go. I stretched my hand to pull her back from walking out, wrapping her in my arms.

She stayed. I wanted her to.

"I am sorry." I softly said. I never wanted the notion of Freda thinking I couldn't give her the freedom she wanted. I might be very possessive and defensive of my mate, but I didn't want her to be unhappy either.

I nuzzled her closely keeping her grip even when she slightly struggled. I kissed her hair and her forehead. "I didn't come all the way here to fight."

"What's the point? You never stay."

"Not tonight" I whispered and a chuckle escaped her lips as she raised her eyes to look at me.

"You're staying tonight?" She asked.

"I've missed you, Freda. I really have." I kissed her lips, once and then twice. "I love you Freda, more than the world can imagine."
