ALL DONE

Freda’s POV

My jaw slacked as Damien held the croissant half out to me. Did this guy see me as a child? I’m a grown up 18 year old hybrid lady for heaven’s sake.
“Open wide,” He commanded as his lips stretched in amusement at my reaction
“I have hands you know?” I protested, my cheeks heating up out of embarrassment.
“I know, but I insist.” He chuckled and brought the croissant close to my lips
I started to feel very annoyed and I contemplated smacking his hands away but his gaze stopped me. There was something in his gaze, care? Love? I couldn’t quite place my hands on it but no malice or hate was intended. His insistence didn’t feel threatening, not in the way I was used to. It felt…playful. And maybe, just a bit endearing. Ugh, Freda, get a grip!
With a heavy sigh, I gave in and leaned forward. “Fine.” I muttered, pouting my lips in displeasure.
“You look cute when you pout.” He laughed softly and brought the croissant closer
I took a whiff of the scent of buttery pastry mixed with his cologne which made my head swoon. I shook my head and focused on the croissant in front of me. His touch was gentle when he placed the pastry in my mouth and a jolt ran through me as his fingers brushed my lips.
I looked away, my cheeks heating up as I chewed and savored the sweetness of the croissant. Damien continued to watch me with an intense gaze and a smile stretched on his lips.
“See? It tastes much better when I give it to you.” He murmured softly. “Let me take care of you more often.
Well it did sound like a tempting offer but I wasn’t used to being treated like baby, right from my former pack. In fact, the treatment got so bad that if anyone apart from Kara treated me decently, I would start to doubt their intentions. I was warming up to Damien but I still kept my guard up, just in case one day he decided he didn’t need me anymore and decides to suck me dry.
“Maybe,” I mumbled, offering a small smile. “But just this once. I’m not used to being treated like an infant.”
“You’ll fold in time.” He flashed a boyish smile that took my breath away.
Over the next few minutes, he fed me breakfast in a slow and romantic manner. His eyes never left mine as he continued his unnecessary but thrilling act. The butterflies in my stomach were running riot and it took everything in me to maintain my composure and not run to hide in the bathroom.
By the time he was finished, my stomach was full and I patted my belly, letting out a satisfied smile. Damian reached into his pocket and pulled out a crisp white handkerchief. He cupped my face gently and used the handkerchief to whip the crumbs on my face.
“There. All clean.” He murmured in a low whisper.
