HE’S SO SEXY

Freda's POV

My eyelids reluctantly fluttered open and a slight headache creeped in. I yawned and sat on the bed, faintly remembering the strange dream that clung to my consciousness yesterday night. Something about chasing peacocks? I could barely remember.

I groaned, stretched my arms out and let out a yawn that would have made a dragon proud.

Scratching the back of my neck, I turned towards the window and my eye's widened when I saw him. Standing by the window, bathed in the morning sunlight that seeped through the curtains. He folded his hands and stared out the window with a lost look.

He wore a simple robe that managed to look impossibly good on him. The cloth hung loosely on his broad shoulders. The front was open, revealing his toned chest that made my mouth go dry. His hair, usually styled was a mess of curls which gave this rogueish appeal that I definitely approved.

The words of greeting that I had planned never left my tongue and it was replaced with a sudden shyness. I continued to watch him for a moment, mesmerized by the man.

He must have sense me awake because he turned suddenly and caught my gaze. His gaze softened and his lips curved into a sexy smile that made me weak to my knees.

“Good morning.” He said, walking towards me.

“Go…good morning.” I managed a small nod and responded.

“Did you sleep well?” He asked with concern.

“Yes, I did.” my voice came out in a squeak.

“You look beautiful in the morning light.” He took a step closer, his smile widening.

My cheeks burned even hotter. What was this? Why was my body reacting in this way? This wasn't fair! He shouldn't be allowed to look that good and say things like that, especially not before I'd brushed my teeth. I opened my mouth to respond but a soft knock on the door interrupted me.

“Come in.” Damien sighed in annoyance.

The door creaked open, reveling Christie standing in the doorway with a food trolley before her.

“Good morning, Your Majesties.” she greeted

“Good morning Christie!” I replied, relief washing over me. At this point, social interaction with someone other than Damien felt like a lifeline. “You brought breakfast?”

“Uh…yes I did.” Christie’s eyes lowered to the floor as she drew circles with her toes on the floor. “Breakfast is also served in the dinning hall, for his Majesty.”

Damien responded with a curt nod and Christie took it as her cue to roll in the trolley. She pushed it into the room and I nearly drooled again when I saw it's surface. It was laden with pastries, bread, fruits and steaming hot tea. My stomach growled and it was loud enough that Damien turned his head towards me with an amused smile.

“Looks like someone’s hungry.” He teased. “You can leave Christie. Tell my uncle I'll join him at the dinning table later.”

Christie nodded and scurried out of the room leaving me alone with Damien once again.

“So, when did you get all chummy with the maid?” Damien cocked his head to the side and asked.
