LONG LIVE THE KING

**Damien’s POV

“Then explain yourself, King Damien,” Andros demanded with fury. “Explain why you take the crown from your father and imprison him? Why would you allow those beasts to return to their packs without bringing them under our rule?”
He questioned furiously while I sat on my throne and observed with an air of nonchalance.
“And why would you kill your own brother?” he continued with a low growl. His words made the surrounding elders shake their heads in disapproval.
I settled deeper into my throne and watched as a spittle flew from Andros' mouth as he ran. Andros was going to be a problem and he needed to be taken care of, I needed a good enough reason to dispose of him, quickly.
“I don't need to explain my decisions to you but if you must know.” I began as my voice dropped low, rumbling with suppressed power. “I did it because I was never in support of y'all greed for power and territory. It was a complete and utter waste of time, the time for change has come.”
“Don't talk to me about change, boy!” I've seen empires rise and fall. What makes you think your ‘methods’ are any different.” Andros snarled.
“They will be different, because I say so.” I stated, my hand supporting my cheeks as I stared at the scene in absolute boredom. “Now that I've answered you, I have an announcement to make.”
A ripple ripped through the ranks of the elders as they muttered amongst themselves, wondering what my announcement was all about.
“Freda, the daughter of Alpha Winston, is my destined mate. And as King, she will rule by my side as Queen of Valthrun.” I declared, waiting patiently for the reactions of the elders.
It didn't take long before utter pandemonium erupted amongst the elders as gasps and murmurs filled the room as they all exchanged horrified looks. Even Andros was momentarily stunned as his face contorted in anger and disgust.
“Queen? You place a mongrel offspring of a werewolf and a human on the throne of the vampires? “ Andrew finally recovered his voice as he spluttered furiously.
“Call her a mongrel one more time and I promise you that will be the last thing that would come out of your mouth.” My eyes narrowed dangerously as I threatened Andros.
“You dare threaten me, Boy? You, who sit on a throne you stole from your own father.” Andros rose to his feet as his old frame trembled with rage.
“Just a little more.” I muttered to myself. I needed to push him to the edge, to give me a reason why I should make him leave my court. His presence was bound to be like a tumor in the brain and the quicker I cut out this tumor, the better.
“Die!” Andros thundered and before I could retort, he lunged with a speed that belied his years. He launched himself across the chambers as his long black nails reached for my throat.
“Too easy.” I anticipated the lung and with a flick of my risk, I drew out a long dagger from it's sheathe at my side and severed Andros hands cleanly.
Andros screamed pathetically as he clutched the mangled stump where his hands used to be. Blood spurted out of the wound and painted my marble flow with a dash of dark red.
“You ruined my floor, you dumb fool.” My eyes narrowed, I ignored the horrified gasps with came from the other elders and Andros' pain screams.
“All of you, what are you doing? Don't just stand there. Do something.” Andros screamed at the seated elders as he gritted his teeth in pain.
“Alright, I've had enough of you.” my eyes blazed with cold fury and I decided to waste no time. In a heartbeat, I reached Andros and I shot out a hand at the old man's throat and gripped it tightly, like a vice. Andros' voice reduced to a mere wheeze as his body dangled limply in my grasp.
“Andros. You attempted to kill me, the king of Valthrun. You know what's coming next don't you?” I smirked deviously as I dug my claws into Andros’s neck.
“Fo…for..give..me.” Andros whimpered as his once furious eyes were now replaced with fear and horror. His eyes bulged from their sockets and his face turned a sickly shade of purple. He attempted to claw at my hand but I only tightened my grip.
The elders sat rooted on their seats as they watched the scene play out in abject horror.
“According to the Laws of Valthrun. I, King of Valthrun, sentenced you Andros to death. For the attempted murder of your king.” I declared with a voice that reverberated through the meeting hall.
Without wasting any more time, I slammed Andros's body into the marble floor with all my strength, causing it to crack slightly. Unsheathing the dagger once more, I held Andros in place and raised it high above my head.
Andros struggled with all his might, his eye a picture of pure terror but my strength was far superior to his.
“Be thankful that at least you get to die in the hands of your king.” I stated and brought the dagger down to Andros's head. I dislodged it from his skull and repeated the action over and over again, his blood staining my clothes and face but I didn't care.
With a final swipe, I slashed through his neck and beheaded him cleanly just to make sure. His struggles came to an immediate halt and life drained from his eyes.
I held his head aloft for a moment longer, displaying it to the horrified elders before tossing it away and kicking his lifeless body like a rag doll.
“A tumor, Excised.” I muttered as I surveyed the elders. My gruesome act had the intended effect and they were all staring at me scared shitless at the scene that just played out before their eyes.
“Ki…King Damien. What have you become.” One of the elders stammered out before he was silenced by a glare from me.
“This is just a warning to anyone of you who dares to defy my rule.” I shot back and took out a handkerchief, cleaning my face from all the blood.
“Long live the King.” Another elder chorused and slowly, the other elders followed suit and bowed their heads low in a sign of submission and respect.
“Well..well.well. it seems I wouldn't be needing the army to subdue you after all.” I chuckled as I relished the fact that I had made the elders bow to my will.
