CAMPUS DRAMA
Freda's Pov.
Even if Damien didn't ask me to do it, I was going to anyway. I wanted to apologize to Seth. I knew how Damien could be whenever he was protecting me. That must have been scary for Seth. It must have been a nightmare meeting a vampire.
It was no surprise that he became suddenly terrified of me in school. The boy had been traumatized.
The weekend had been great with Damien consistently around yanking me off the bed and plunging deep into me with moans feeling the apartment. He also attended to kingdom affairs together with me, requesting my contribution.
This was the life I had always wanted.
As I walked into the school toward the basketball court, I met a lot of confusion. The basketball team spread it into different groups speaking about things.
My eyes met Seth, who was also in another group and doing the talking. He looked away from me, but that was when I walked over to him to talk. He quickly dispersed those who were with him as I approached him.
"What's going on?" I asked about the uproar in the court. He shrugged, looking around.
"Nothing you should know about."
I froze. "Well, I am here now, and I want to know. This is my school also, right?"
"Then you'll end up hearing it from one of the gossip girls."
"Too bad I want to hear it from you?"
"Are you threatening me?"
"Do you feel threatened?" I snapped back and he shook his head scoffing.
"Look, Freda. I can't be seen around with you." He tried walking out but I dragged him back, holding onto his hand tightly. He pushed my hand away from his. "You can't touch me either."
"Just answer the goddamn question."
He paused for some moments. "My friends. Fred and Greg, we're suspended." He said.
"What, why?"
"At the party, they got involved…raped two girls who passed out and were rushed to the hospital. The news reached the patient and the parent reached the school. They will be repeating the semester and are on disciplinary suspension."
I gasped. "How could they do that? Are you involved too?
"No, I went home immediately after dropping you off.
My mind trailed for a moment before remembering what Damirn said. "That would have been me, right?'
"Huh?" He asked.
"Your friend wanted to do the same thing to my date and me at the party. That was why you rescued us right?"
He nodded. "How do you know that?"
I smiled. "I got informed. Look, Seth, I wanna say thank you for taking me home safely and looking out for me. I also want to apologize about Damien."
"Who's Damien?"
"My…husband," I said and his eyes shot up.
"Oh, let's not talk about him…"
"I know you must have been shock…"
"Shock? Girl, I was traumatized. He almost killed me." He walked away from my presence and I followed him behind. "He is probably watching me again now. I promised to stay away from you."
"No, Seth. I came to apologize for what he did. He shouldn't have shown you, his real self."
Seth came close to me as he leaned and whispered. "He is a fucking vampire! I never knew that wasn't a myth"
"It's nothing so serious like you think it is."
"He's lived for a 100 years!"
"He told you that?" I whispered too
"Is that what you are too?" He leaned back.
I laughed. "No, never. Ugh, Vampires… I'm just human"
"And you ended up with him?"
"He's the best thing that happened to me," I muttered. "Seth, I just want you to feel safe and that's why I addressed this." If Seth felt more threatened he might spill and I didn't want that. "Damien wouldn't hurt you unless I'm hurt."
"Freda!" I heard my name from the entrance of the basketball court. A few faces turned to stare at me as Pamela approached me, stomping her feet. "I cannot believe you lied," she said. Her girls, joined her, standing behind her in a defensive position.
"What are you talking about?" I was disturbed that she might be talking about Damien or me being her hybrid.
"The girl you rough was not your date, matter of fact, you don't even do girls." Pamela spat.
For no reason, a laugh escaped my lips and she raised her brows. "Pamela, I'm so sorry, I just wanted to attend the party."
"I invited you to my party only for you to leave with my man."
"Your man?" Seth interested. "I am not your man, Pam."
"Seth and I are not even friends." I joined also.
"Then why did he follow you yesterday, you got into his car and he never came back. You got me worried all through the night."
"Seth was just repaying a dare. I won him in a game and he repaid it by taking me home. Nothing more. I am not interested in Seth. I am married."
She sneered, her girls joining her in a laugh. "You're married."
"Yes, and Seth knows my man." I pushed Seth's shoulders, signaling that he backed me up.
"Yes, I know her husband and he is not someone you should mess with," Seth responded.
Pamela took some moments to get lost in thought before she turned to me again, holding my hands. "I knew you wouldn't do that. Be our friend, Freda."
"Err." I was excited. I was. I never had the opportunity to get associated with the popular girls on campus and this made me have butterflies. "I'll think about it," I said.
"Why think, just say yes!" One of the girls said.
"Well, I would have to ask my…husband," I said, hoping that didn't sound too weird.
"Urgh. Is he rich?" Pamela asked.
"Probably more than your dad" Seth commented, walking out of our gathering. Pamela shot me a hard glare.
"He's joking." I quickly defended.
"You know my dad right?" She asked. "You know he's a top administrator at this school yeah?" She asked.
I had never heard that information before, but I still responded with. "Who doesn't know your dad, Pamela?".
