Damien’s POV

I opened the doors of the wardrobe and retrieved a pouch filled with gold coins from the top shelf.
“We can have your maid take care of everything.”
I walked towards her and extended the pouch to her. Her eyes widened in shock as she stared at the huge pouch.
“I just needed some clothes, I don’t want to get the whole boutique.” She squirmed.
“I told you, I’d do anything for you. Besides, buying an entire shop is within my means. Now take it.” I shrugged.
She hesitated for a moment then extended her hand and grabbed the pouch from me, muttering a silent thanks.
“There’s a lot of Krypta gold coins for your dresses.” I smiled, a sense of pride welled up inside me knowing I could provide my mate with the finest luxuries the kingdom had to offer.
“Krypta? That’s the name of your currency?” She asked, weighing the bag in her hands.
“Yeah, Elara will teach you everything you need to know.” I nodded and glanced at the clock. Uncle Kieran should be at the dining hall right now.
“When your maid comes in, you can tell her the types of clothes you’d like. Whatever you need.” I said to her. “I have to leave for the dining hall.”
“Wait.” She called for me before I could walk out of the room.
“Mm? I’m all ears, what do you need?” I asked, eager to fulfill her wishes.
“Wel… I was wondering perhaps you could allow me to leave the castle for a bit? With Christie of course.”
“No.” I didn’t hesitate. There was no way I was going to let her leave this castle. The kingdom was predominantly populated by vampires and she was a hybrid, it would be a miracle if she returned back to the castle in one piece.
“But Damien.” She tried to change my mind but I wasn’t having it.
“No buts. It's too dangerous.” I shook my head.
“Yes, but I'm bored.” She whinned like a child that had her candy stolen. “Surely you can't expect me to spend the entire day cooped up here?”
I wanted to voice out my objection again but her puppy eyes forced me to swallow my words. In a sense, she had a point. She had already agreed to being my queen, though she was unwilling. It would be unfair to her if I refused her request but the dangers of having her outside the castle was too much.
I stood with a conflicted expression and then a solution came to me.
“Fine.” I conceded, surprising even myself. “But you'll be going with two guards. I can't risk your safety.”
“Thank youuuu.” She screamed, ran to me and hugged my tightly.
I sighed and hugged her back silently praying that nothing unexpected would happen to her.
“You are only going there to get some clothes, nothing else. Do you understand?” I warned.
“I do. Don't worry, nothing is going to happen to me. I just needed to get some air.”She said, her lips stretching into a beautiful grin.
“Alright then, I'll assign your guards to you.” I nodded and kissed her on the forehead again then leaving the room.
