Damien's POV
The cupping of Freda’s face and tilting of my head to kiss her soft gentle lips couldn’t get out of my head as I was deeply engulfed in my thoughts and obsession for Freda.
slowly the thoughts grew into anger and resentment cause ‘Why couldn’t she just accept to be my mate and be crowned queen. Why was she acting so difficult and annoying intentionally.’ I started to voice out my thoughts and frustration. The pile of the kingdom workload staring at my face from my desk was oblivious to me as all I could think of every now and then was only about Freda.
“To make Freda mine forever I need to gain her acceptance and loyalty.” I thought out loud. I stood from my chair again restlessly and shuffled through the pile of books neatly arranged in the shelves of the history roll and quickly traced a magazine on beautiful restaurants around the castle. I settled for the most beautiful I could find with a decent continental dish menu and one I thought was sure to blow her mind and drag her even closer to myself. I was desperate to make Freda my queen. She had all the qualities one would dream of in a woman and she had them in perfect proportions and dispositions. Her eyes were round and big, her eyes were like an ocean, pure and wide and the white part was very bright and deep brown in her pupil. Freda was passionate and very soft-spoken spoken only she kept on getting triggered by the past and for the fact I kept her to the castle via captivity and against her will.
I walked away from the shelves and pile of books and magazines to the couch close to the study desk relaxing my now aching back and began masterminding a grand scheme to announce Freda as my queen. The problems I was posed with were the attendance guest lists, the order of events, silencing of potential objections and increasing supporters. Freda was mine and I was willing to go all in.
As I sank deeper into my thoughts I figured it was already getting very late now. I spent my day studying and arranging the ceremony. I raised my head up and shot a quick glance at the windows. The encroaching darkness insidiously biting away daylight signaled it was far time to return back to my room and have my meal. Outside my window which was high on the castle’s edge or cliff, I could easily see the city now shrouded with darkness and dim lights glowing from tents and houses to indicate life at the cost spaces. The city looked peaceful and devoid of noise pollution. After what now seemed like another three hours, a gentle breeze swept across my face, and with it was the aroma of the freshly boiled corn and spiced chicken and beef that was covered and ready to be eaten with rice and perhaps other delicacies my servants had prepared.
Unable to think any further or work anymore, I decided it was time I left the study.
‘Hmmm….arrrgh’
"Ahhh... Mmmph... Haaah..."
I yawned as I stretched my joints, the sounds of bones cracking gave me a satisfying feeling. I walked to the switch of the study and turned off the lights. I made sure I switched off the fluorescents and ambient lights as well then walked towards the windows, dragged a deep fresh breath from the cool breeze, and shut the curtains and windows. I contemplated the options I had and now I was going to reapproach Freda and talk to her about the dinner date I was trying to set up as well as the public announcement of her as queen Ken’s already working on.
I walked out and the guards stationed for my protection down the enclosure gestured a salutation to me. I nodded back and strolled ahead. I was headed for my room when suddenly I heard gentle footsteps down the hallway.
I kept walking in the same direction confused as to why any patrol guard would hear at this hour and why I wasn’t alone on this path. “Freda?” I say in astonishment and amazement.
“Hey,” a smile cracked through her face, with a gentle blush on her side. She was beautiful and startled to see me. I was caught off guard completely.
I walked towards her, circling my arms around her waist and pulling her closer to my chest for a tight hug.
