I'LL BRING A DATE
Freda's pov
Today's walk to class was going amazingly well. I had been bothered on my way to meeting Seth and his friends, so I searched around to make sure I wasn't seeing them.
When I got home yesterday, I told Christie about him, and she just laughed, saying"he was lucky Damien was nowhere around" If it was the truth, it would have been a different story.
I pushed the lecture room door open and the first set of people I saw were Seth and his friends. I groaned as I walked to another seat and waited for the torment to start, thirty minutes into the class Seth had yet to stress or tease me.
Hmm.
I rested my back well and focused on the class instead of on Seth. The times our eyes met he looked away and it shocked me. It was like he was scared of me. I liked it. Maybe my talk of yesterday got to him.
The class went smoothly and I was glad I learned a lot without any form of distraction. It was weird that they kept away from me throughout but I was glad nevertheless.
Everybody rushed out of the class trying to get to their next one after the lecturer left. I gently packed my bags, arranging my desk as well, I took my time because I knew Seth would not be troubling me, it was blissful having not to rush.
"Hey" I heard someone call behind me and I turned and saw a group of girls, from their looks alone I could tell they were the licitas kind of girls, popular girls, they looked hotter than the ones in high school.
"Uhh hi" I answered anxiously as I wondered if I was their next target, it wasn't uncommon for new girls to be picked on, but this was not high school there should be a few differences in maturity, I hope.
The first girl, looked like she was the leader, with blonde hair and pretty green eyes, her smile was beautiful, I thought as I waited for the beast underneath the smile to surface.
"Hi, I am Pamela and I am having a party I would like to invite you to," she said and my eyes went wide.
"W-why?" I asked cautiously, it might be one of those mean pranks to get me excited and kill my excitement. I've seen those types of things, I wasn't new to it.
Licita was the popular girl and she never for once invited me to any party, when she tells me about it she usually does to remind me of what I couldn't be getting because of whatever reasons.
I've always wanted to be invited to a party, but never got invited to one, Kara was always getting the invitations but she always ended up going to none of them because I wasn't invited and she sought it obligatory to not go for any occasion without me.
"You're pretty and I want you to come to my party, this is not high school…what do you say?" She was asking me, my words got stuck in my throat as I thought about what to say to her, trying to be careful I looked at the rest of the girls. They had smiles on their faces too.
"All the pretty boys are going to be there too, it's going to be amazing trust me," another girl said and I smiled, she sounded so very friendly, maybe it won't be so bad.
"I'm just surprised because this is my first time getting a party invite"
"What!!!!! You have never been invited to a party, does that mean you haven't been to one?" Another asked and I smiled sadly. The only party I've been to was my coronation. I thought to myself because thinking it aloud would be so weird.
"Sadly, I never got any invites in high school I was bullied, but she's dead now.." I blurted out and I saw the look of horror on their faces and I knew I should not have said that. "... I mean, she was sick, not like I had anything to do with it, she was sick an-"
"It's okay, nobody is judging you okay, since it's going to be your first party trust me it's going to be the best, it's tonight can you make it?" Pamela asked and I nodded in excitement, she was so kind and it made me happy that there was a nice popular girl.
"Sure, I mean I don't have anything to do"
"Hope you don't have a curfew it's going to end late, if you're staying with your parents you should inform them a"
"Don't worry about that, I stay alone, although my mother's house is not so far from mine she is not around right now so I am good" I said and they smiled, even with my rambling they were still nice, out of the corner of my eyes I see Seth glaring at us, I turned to look at him properly and when our eyes met he turned and walked away.
Weird.
"Then good, and uhh come with a date, no date no entry," a different girl said and my stomach sank, I had nobody to bring, Damien surely must not know about a party with boys, and I had no male friends, I thought to myself already feeling sad that I might not be able to attend the party when an idea suddenly pops into my head.
"That's fine by me, I'd come with my girlfriend, she sure loves parties," I said and Pamela's eyes widened, I do not blame her it was the best I could come up with, I was going to have Christie come with me as my so-called girlfriend.
"Uhh okay, it starts by nine, but you have to be there by eight so you can pick your spot"
"Okay," I said smiling.
"See you there then," she said and the rest said their goodbyes as they turned away and left.
"Wow," I said out loud, today was going to be one hell of a day but I didn't mind, I was going to my first party!
