ARRANGEMENTS
Damien's pov
"Glad to see you looking more like yourself Young King" Duke Magnus said approaching the throne room, he was the last of the nobles we were expecting.
"Glad to see you finally made it to the meeting old Duke" I said, teasing him back like I knew he had been teasing me too.
Somewhere along the line we got closer, after the whole betrayal with Williams and Balen, Magnus seemed to look at me with more admiration now and so did the others.
"Take your seats, we have a few things to discuss" I said before settling down properly as well.
Lady Daphne was by my right, if she didn't already have a mate I would have said she had a thing for me but she did and they were very much In love with each other that it was very obvious.
"Elara would be joining us today because this is something everybody needs to hear and get ready for as it's everybody's concern"
"Stop counting your words and get on with it already, we all have houses to run" Count Andrew said, he was still one Lord that liked to act tough and like he was above rules even when we all know how much of a softie he was, ignoring him as I waited for Elara to quickly take her seat before I started the meeting properly.
"We all know that the coronation ceremony was a total fail, so we need to plan another one, I want Freda to get crowned queen"
There was silence in the throne room as everybody stared at me like I had gone crazy.
"You remember she ran didn't you" marques Theo said and I was surprised, more like we were all surprised, he rarely spoke unless spoken too.
"We know that Theo but she is back now and hopefully she's back to stay" Lady Daphne said and I smiled but Theo was not having any of it and so was Andrew.
"She almost destroyed this place with the little stunt she pulled, you were lost and we don't ever want a repeat of that situation, we need our king sane and functioning w-'
"Silence Theo, stop sounding like a child, you too Andrew stop encouraging him with your feelings, weakness does not make a man strong, but you forget how stronger he got having a weakness, Freda has done nothing but push him to be the best version of himself, fifty years ago I would have said Damien was not fit to have toys talk less rule valthrun, but look at him, on first glance he got rid of competition, I mean a man who kills his blood surely has nothing he's afraid of, we should be the ones afraid if anything, he knows how to handle himself I hope" Duke Magnus said staring at me when he said the last part and I nodded.
"I know you all have your concerns but this is my mate we are talking about, it is non negotiable, remake all the arrangements again and this time she asked for this, so we make it according to what she would like, I really want her to be happy here so make sure that happens, and as soon as possible because she's leaving"
The moment I said that they turned to look at eachother, other news I was breaking to them, if they weren't nobles and important to the development of my kingdom I would not tell them half the things I was saying to them.
"What do you mean she's leaving, you just said she wants to be crowned queen I mean you said she's ready, what does she's leaving mean?" Lady Daphne asked and the other nobles nodded their heads.
"She wants to continue with her studies and I am in support of that, so I want her crowned queen before she goes back, it's as simple as that" I said, getting tired of having to defend whatever I said.
"That is not a bad choice in my defense, it's actually a good idea," Elara said, finally speaking since she sat for the meeting.
"Yeah I agree, the young queen wants to be educated the human way let her do what she wants as long as it won't have her running out of the castle next time" Duke Magnus said and I chuckled, I didn't find what he said funny but I found the whole situation funny, everybody had a different look from the other on their faces.
"Now that everybody is on onboard with the decision not like any of you had a say but now that we are all clear, I need an apartment for her to stay in, big enough that she moves around freely and have everything she wants at her disposal, Christie would be joining her s-"
"She is going to school too?" Theo asked and I chuckled.
"No, she would be attending to Freda at the apartment, I suggested more but Freda didn't want that, so it's just Christie"
"Are we talking about multiple rooms apartments or just one very large one?" Count Andrew said and I shook my head.
"Maybe two rooms would be preferable"
"You sure Freda would want to stay in a different room from the only friend she has here?" Elara said and I sighed, Freda truly fancied Christie.
"Make it two rooms still, I shall also take some time to visit, that is by the way, let the apartment be ready before her crowning ceremony, and I would like to appoint a new head in charge of Balens house, if you have any suggestions I'd be happy to hear it if not start the arrangements for Freda's crowning and return to school, this meeting is dismissed" I said and everyone began clearing out of the throne room one after the other.
When it was finally just me I rested my back against the throne and smiled, soon Freda will have a seat next to mine and we would hold hands and rule valthrun together.
