LICITA AGAIN
FREDA
The steward stopped in front of a massive oak door and he pulled out a set of keys from his pocket and slotted it into the keyhole so he could open the door.
We had initially stopped by another room where my father would be staying and although I hated the man with passion, I would still rush to his side for protection if I sensed anything fishy and something told me that despite his indifference, he would protect me.
The steward opened the door and he nodded at my direction curtly before walking to the opposite direction. I took in a deep breath and pushed open the door. I let out a surprised gasp as I surveyed the luxurious room, this wasn’t what I was used to back at my pack. I mean it was comfortable and all but this level of luxury was a different case entirely.
On the floor lay soft red carpets that lead to the massive four poster bed that had beautiful carvings and plush drapes. The bed itself looked like something I would love to just lie down on and hibernate. It looked soft with a thick duvet and multiple pillows in silk cases.
A shiver ran through my spine as I realized the insane power gap between the werewolves and vampires. If the guest room was this well-furnished, I could only imagine how the master room would be.
My gaze darted around the room taking in the details. There was a small desk tucked into the corner, large wardrobe with ornately carved doors, a small shelf with carefully arranged books and a large chandelier that provided the room with lighting. If it wasn’t considering the circumstances, I would have said this room was perfect. A perfect prison.
I sighed heavily as I sank onto the soft mattress of the four poster bed. I moaned as I enjoyed the softness of the mattress. It was floating on clouds, not that I knew how floating on clouds would feel like but I just figured the feeling would be similar. I was loving the mattress so much that I didn’t realize my bedroom door had creaked open.
It was only when I heard the sound of footsteps approaching me that I sprang up to my feet and I hit what I assumed was a defensive stance. I squinted my eyes to see who entered my room without so much as a knock and my heart sank when I saw the culprit.
“Licita? What the fuck are you doing in my room?” I asked incredulously. Yes it was the bully that had made it her life mission to make my life miserable in my school. I ignored her glares earlier thinking that if I avoided her, she wouldn’t so much as talk to me during my time here. I realized that I was sorely mistaken. How much hate must you have in your heart to come to my room just to slander me?
“Well, well, the little werewolf princess has a room to herself. Isn’t that just precious.” Licita drawled with a look of disdain on her face
I clenched my fists in fury. I breathed heavily as I tried to cool the anger that was swirling in me. Back at school, I had Kara to fight my battles but this time I was all alone. Anger wouldn’t get me anywhere so I had to be composed no matter how many taunts Licita threw.
“What do you want, Licita?” I did my best impression of a growl as I stared at her venomously.
“Just here for a friendly visit. Wanted to see how you were faring, seeing as you’re the only human in the midst of powerful creatures.” Licita smiled mockingly as she circled around me like a predator seizing up its prey.
“Why did your father pick you for this important meeting? Last time I checked, he had a more competent daughter, no?” Licita said mockingly but I squeezed my fists and refused to entertain her.
“Or is it perhaps. Your father brought you here so he could use the vampires to get rid of his useless daughter once and for all.” She whispered into my ears and all the self-control I mustered disappeared in an instant.
I turned around swiftly starting Licita and I delivered a straight punch right to her nose. I could even sense that I might have broken it but I couldn’t care less as the feeling of finally hurting Licita was just too good.
She stumbled back a few steps while clutching her bleeding nose. She stared at me in shock while I stared at my fist in horror. So much for self-control. Now I had angered the daughter of an Alpha and I was pretty sure the thoughts of killing me were running wild in her head.
“You bitch!” Licita screamed like a banshee on steroids. She had a maniacal look in her eyes and judging from the way her eye coloration was changing, I deduced that her wolf was livid and she was just a step away from shifting.
“I’m…I’m sorry. It was an accident.” I stuttered trying to calm her down but she only got madder.
“An accident, my ass.” She screamed and she lunged for me with her claws out. My body moved on reflex as I ducked and dodged her lunge.
“Please Licita...” I tried to reason with her but she just growled and lunged for me again. My reflexes abandoned me as I stood rooted on the spot. The only thing I could manage was to raise my hand in self-defense which was just foolish as she simply swiped her claw over my human flesh and a searing pain erupted throughout my body.
I yelped in pain with my arm bleeding and I fell to the floor clutching my injured arm.
Licita continued to glare at me and I could see a sadistic smile forming on her lips. Such potent hate.
She approached me with slow steps and I shifted on the floor trying to avoid her as I looked into her amber eyes with fear. My back hit the wall and there wasn’t anywhere for me to go.
Licita raised her hands with her claws glinting wickedly and at this point, I just closed my eyes and gave up.
Suddenly I heard the sound of my door busting open and I opened my eyes abruptly and turned my head towards the door and I was surprised at who stood at the door.
