CHAPTER 21: THE AUCTION 2

The rich from all corners of Parat were currently present and arriving for this wonderful day. Those who knew each other greeted each other and began to catch up with one another.

As for those who were new to the scene, could only pray and hope in their hearts that they will be noticed by those above them and maybe gain some connections and get somewhere higher.

Time really passed by quickly and the happiest ones were the Day’s. this wasn’t a charity auction but it was an event that the Day’s had been doing for a while and it became popular among the wealthy.

They will find some unique products, antiques, jewelry and sell them to the highest bidder. The family had been making money from this, not everything sold at the auction belonged to them.

Some of the things were brought in by sellers and the Day’s would get a percentage of the proceeds which was still better than having nothing.

With roughly fifteen minutes left before the auction officially starts, Elektra who was nowhere to be found at the scene finally arrived. It wasn’t that she didn’t know the time when the auction was going to start.

She was just too lazy to come early and look at faces she didn’t like or feel disgusted with. When she arrived, she attracted all eyes on her as most people were already seated in their seats.

Elektra was wearing a silver gown with thin straps and a revealing back. Since it was summer, Elektra found no need to cover herself and it wasn’t every day she got to expose her exquisite body.

It is just that an alluring red fox tattoo was on her back and it covered the left side of her back. It was small and very cute to look at. On her lower back, she had a colorful butterfly tattoo with its wings spread wide.

The gown covered her long legs as well as her feet that had a pair of black stilettos on. Since her face couldn’t be seen, Elektra wore a black veil with silver clouds that matches the headdress she was wearing.

[Isn’t that girl so beautiful?]

[She looks as if she just came out of a manga!]

[Umphhh, what’s the point of acting mysterious? If we open that veil, we may find an ugly duckling.]

[Does anyone know who that girl is?]

The place was filled with excitement the second Elektra walked in elegantly like a queen as if she owns the place. Elektra was in a very good mood so she ignored all the bad remarks about her.

Miley quickly found her comfortable V.I.P booth where she will be sitting for the rest of the auction. There were several V.I. Ps present but who cares about them when there was someone who was capable of attracting both curiosity and hate to herself before the auction began.

When Elektra sat down, Miley and two men she came in with, stood behind her and got ready to serve her well. as minutes were tricking and the auction about to start, a server brought some champagne to Elektra’s booth and Miley chased the young man away and served Elektra personally.

Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived as an elegant Pearl Day Keen appeared in front of everyone.

“I want to welcome you all to the fifth auction hosted by my family and thank you for taking your time to grace us with your presence. I know that you can’t wait to empty your pockets, so let’s get right straight to it,” Pearly had a smile on her face as she elegantly made her entrance and got everyone’s blood boiling.

In a certain booth, Elektra was looking at Pearl with a complicated expression. She hated Pearl the most, this girl had made her lose everything that she loved and made her taste what devastation was really like.

Elektra had always wondered what she will do when she met Pearl again in this life and she never really got an answer but now she does. Elektra was wondering how Pearl would react if she sees her?

Would Pearl go insane? What would it be like if Pearl loses her beloved ones, got kicked when she was down, and suffer the way that she Elektra did back then? Would she still have time to stand in front of so many people and act high and mighty as if the whole world belongs to her?

Elektra shook her head seeing how her mind was wandering. The auction had already started and three items had already been sold and bought already. She was going to think about this later and see if there is anything that she could buy.

Everyone was excited to be part of this event, some of them didn’t even have money to buy some items in this auction but just wanted to be there. Some of them were very enthusiastic and were buying as long as they had money.

The people in the booths were the calmest as none of them had yet made a bid for anything. Some thought Elektra will be buying things but who knew that the other was absent-minded and in her little world.

Elektra finally joined the crowd and began to concentrate but she wasn’t interested in most of the things that were being sold. An hour passed and Elektra wanted to find 1 and lash at him.

Why would he make her come to such a boring auction?

As she was about to give up and play with her phone, Pearl finally managed to do something that caught Elektra’s attention.

Right there in front of her eyes, Elektra was looking at a familiar bracelet she had
not seen in years. This bracelet vanished a very long time ago and it used to be in her mother’s possession.

Because of everything that happened to Elektra, she didn’t have anything that belonged to her mother so seeing something that could make her remember the lady, she became serious and decided to go home with this.

The biding began and the place was all frenzy, Elektra was calm on the outside but inside she was raging with anxiety. When all the excitement was about to come to an end, Elektra finally made a bid that left everyone speechless.

The bracelet had nearly been sold for twenty million and yet Elektra raised the price to double with a single bid. Who would go against such a crazy person?

Paying so much money for a bracelet wasn’t worth it in the end.
