CHAPTER 42: BARRY & MILEY CLARK

The room was dimly lit and the scent of intimacy was in the room. On the huge bed, two figures could be seen intertwined with each other and the moans filled the room.

The battle lasted for a while before the room finally quietened down. On the huge bed, the masculine man was embracing the alluring figure of the woman he loves so much with everything that he owns.

Miley looked at her husband, the man she had been with for over a decade with love in her eyes. Despite being sweaty after the intense exercise, she didn’t feel like going anywhere and cleaning up the mess.

With her in bed was Barry, the man who was seven years her senior, the man who had protected her numerous times when she was on the verge of death, and just like him, she was willing to offer her life for him.

The two of them were just orphans with no family or relatives that wanted them. Miley still recalls that she was just five years old when she was taken to that remote island where she spent the next decade being trained and going under torturous training.

She was young back then and as long as she gets some food to eat, she didn’t mind following those that enticed her. it was only after being there for a couple of weeks she noticed that it wasn’t all glitters.

She was just five when she witnessed with her own eyes someone dying. Some of the older kids wanted to run away and leave the island, so they foolishly tried to escape and, in the end, they were executed mercilessly and this left a huge scar in her heart.

It was useless to cry when living in such a place and Miley knew that she had to be strong otherwise she will be one of those people being cremated and the ashes were thrown into the sea.

Having a survival instinct, Miley did her utmost best when she was being trained. Hesitating only led to death and she threw that away from her vocabulary. She was barely eight when she killed her first victim.

They were having a death match and Miley would have died if she didn’t kill the other, so she gritted her teeth and ruthlessly stabbed the other multiple times to death.

She was bloodied and her eyes bloodthirsty as she held a red dagger that was dripping blood. She saw the scared expressions of other kids but this didn’t matter as surviving was all that matters.

She couldn’t sleep for a very long time after that as all she could see was that boy she killed. This wasn’t something that one could get used to easily. This was someone else’s child and even though they were considered orphans, she had come across situations where other kids were abducted and brought to this hellish place.

Miley wanted to run away but there was no way out. One could only leave the island after graduating and she was way long to that.

She was ten years old when she met Barry, the senior who had just returned to the island to train the little kids. He was stoic, handsome and something about him made her like him.

Barry was someone she couldn’t easily talk to so she only watched from afar until two years later when she was sent on a mission and Barry was part of it. It was a hellish mission and Miley almost died that time.

She was very scared about dying but when she thought of how she will be punished when she returns again, Miley was so stressed. But this also became her opportunity to get acquainted with Barry as the older guy comforted her.

Miley was punished severely as she almost made them fail and being starved for days and being beaten, she still survived. Barry secretly helped her and their relationship improved.

After that episode, Miley set a goal for herself to work hard so that in the future she will not be a burden and be strong enough to stand by Barry’s side. Miley never let herself down and did exactly that.

At the age of fifteen, she graduated and the final examination was the cruelest thing she ever did in her entire life as an assassin. In groups of one hundred teenagers, only ten will pass and that meant that ninety of them will suffer under the blade of others.

In that battle, Miley slaughtered quite a lot and suffered severe injuries but she was happy that she made it. She didn’t care how many people she kills, as long as she was alive at the end of the day.

After being locked for many years on this remote island, Miley was able to see the world. They were graded and had to show results to live a better life on the outside. Her relationship with Barry was a bit rocky but they still made it.

The two dated for years but it was unfortunate that their relationship was exposed. The seniors ordered the two to have a battle against each other and only one can survive.

Miley didn’t want to do it; she was willing to end her own life than take Barry’s and she lived her life in fear because of that. One day, Barry sneaked into her apartment and a fight broke out, fire also broke out and she thought that they were going to die and the last thing she saw when she blacked out was Barry.

Miley thought that her life was gone but who knew that when she woke up, she was in a remote forest. Apparently, Barry had saved them both and now they were on the run.

The life of being chased wasn’t easy, and the two had to move from one country to another, change identities and leave a trail of bodies as they go. These were their colleagues; they went under the same training and yet they were now fighting against each other.

After so many twists and turns, the two finally were in Parat and managed to hide in that forest. It was a place that no one could find them but who knew that one day they came across a strange little girl with silver hair, black eyes and she just looked demonic.

The aura that she emits was so deadly and even if they wanted to fight, they couldn't win. They were just waiting to be killed but then the silver-haired girl gave them an offer they couldn’t refuse.

And this is how the two assassins became Barry and Miley Clark and their job was to be guardians to this strange little girl who gave them the power that they craved.
