CHAPTER 75: GUILT
Ian had been feeling a bit sad lately, the businesses were still being attacked and after receiving that threatening letter, he had his men investigate the truth. And what he found was literary nothing and this made him be suspicious more.
For such a huge case, it wasn’t normal to not find a single clue. Ian wasn’t a fool, and he could tell that someone else was involved and all the relevant evidence had been erased.
He didn’t want to confront his daughter and son-in-law about this issue. He didn’t want to fall out with them because of people that were already dead but at the same time, he wanted answers.
And unless he finds the person who sent him those threatening letters, he won’t be able to know a thing as his children weren’t an option.
Ian had visited these pitiful pair of mother and daughter for over five years now even though it wasn’t frequent but during that time, he had never seen anyone visiting them.
All the friends and relatives abandoned them; he didn’t even hold a funeral as no one wanted to come there. So, coming to the cemetery and found that someone had visited the pair.
Seeing that they were fresh prints, Ian didn’t mind his age or his afflictions and made haste to search for the people who were just there. On his way, he stopped some people and asked them if they have seen anyone coming from the direction that he came from but 70% of them didn’t know.
Ian was completely in despair but when he found some people that described him about the pair that might be the people that he was looking for, he was thrilled.
Ian with his men following him rushed and went in the direction that Elektra and Kasper went towards. Ian looked at the couple that was holding hands and he couldn’t recognize them no matter how much he looked.
“Stop them! I want to talk with them, and do it gently!” Ian ordered his men as he was afraid that at his speed, he won’t be able to catch them.
The men did as asked and sprinted all the way to where the young couple was.
Elektra had a smile on her face as her senses spread all over the place. She had noticed Ian when she was making her way back to the car but she didn’t tell Kasper as she wanted the other to remain calm.
If he were to know that Ian was around, she didn’t even want to think of the things that he will do.
So, when they were suddenly politely stopped by men in black, Kasper became vigilant but Elektra held his hand and calmed him down, “they mean no harm. Let’s wait and see what they want.”
Seeing that Elektra was calm and acting as if everything was under her control, Kasper decided to trust her and wait. Kasper looked at the four men who had stopped them and then at the middle-aged man who didn’t look so well as he approached them.
Kasper couldn’t help but frown when he saw this. Why did this person look so familiar?
No matter how much he tried to rake his brain; he still couldn’t get it. In the end, he decided to hear from the man and see what he wants.
Luckily Ian arrived quickly and he was panting. Elektra looked at the man she had called father for two decades and yet he ditched her and her mother at the time that they needed someone the most.
“I am very sorry for stopping you like this! My age is now a limitation and I couldn’t catch up with you,” Ian tried his best to be as humble and polite as possible.
He could tell that the bearings of this couple weren’t normal and he should tread carefully. They were so many crouching tigers everywhere and it was very easy to provoke people that shouldn’t be because of misjudgments.
Kasper didn’t want to talk to this man at all but seeing the anticipation in his wife’s eyes, he had this feeling that a drama was about to unfold and he wasn’t going to miss this for anything.
“I can hear your sincerity. So may I ask why uncle is looking for us?” Elektra asked curiously and she didn’t sound as if she knew the man at all.
Ian looked at the young woman whose face he couldn’t see as she was wearing a black veil but something about her seemed familiar and he couldn’t help but want to know more.
“I hope that you won’t find my questions a bit rude but I am out of options here and I just need some answers,” Ian sighed as he thought of how ridiculous this whole thing sounded.
“Umm, you can go ahead and ask uncle or should we find a place that is more suitable first?” Elektra suggested as she looked around.
Ian had completely forgotten about the place they were and he couldn’t help but feel embarrassed, “this is very true. I know a place that we may sit down and talk.”
Ian was very forthcoming and Kasper didn’t say a single word and let the two talk to their heart’s content.
“Okay, we will follow you. Just tell us where the place is!” Elektra agreed and her mannerism was in check.
Kasper who was looking at this other side of his wife, couldn’t help but have goosebumps. Having a scary Elektra was better than a polite and virtuous Elektra like this.
Ian didn’t find this troublesome and he agreed with this arrangement. He gave them the address of the place he wanted to go and to make sure that they follow, his other car led while Kasper followed.
“Wifey, what are you planning?” Kasper finally asked as curiosity was killing him.
He wanted to know and understand the reason why Elektra was doing this and why she was so interested in some man she might have never met before.
“Ohhh, you will find out in a while. I just didn’t think that he will send himself to my door that quick!” there was a flash of anger, hate, and resentment in Elektra’s voice when she said this.
Kasper being an adult and not a child that requires explanations, understood that this wasn’t that simple. But as long as he patiently waits, he was going to receive the answers that he was looking for.
And he couldn’t wait to find out what that is!
