CHAPTER 67: WHAT ARE YOU?
Later that evening, Elektra was all dolled up and she picked some of that ancient jewelry and put it on. Of course, she got rid of any dark energy surrounding it first before putting it on.
She looked very beautiful and she was wearing blue on this day. The banquet was being held at a rich man’s mansion and it took them around one hour to get there.
When they arrived, Elektra observed the place as she just couldn’t storm in a place without grasping the overall situation. She simply released her own pressure and her senses spread around and she managed to pinpoint some powerful and suspicious people.
She wasn’t the only supernatural being in this place and she couldn’t wait to see them face to face. Elektra believed in herself so she didn’t mind that her probing might have offended other people.
If they try to attack her, she can simply turn them into zombies and her army will increase and it wasn’t bad having some supernatural beings as part of her force. She was even looking forward to it.
With 6 around, Elektra quickly met a number of people, and even though they find it a pity to not see her face, they enjoyed talking to the mysterious young lady.
The banquet officially started and at this time, everyone was seated. Elektra was glad that these people were talking in a universal language as she didn’t know a lot of native languages, it was a hustle.
Elektra sipped her wine easily as she watched people biding for the items being auctioned. This was a charity event and all the money earned was going to be distributed to the immigrants who really needed some help. There were some strong-headed countries still fighting and having wars, so this made life very hard for the people.
In order to live and get a better life than in their countries, they will do anything in their power to go to other countries and seek protection after all dying wasn’t something that people wanted to experience.
Thirty minutes into the auction, Elektra’s eyes finally lit up as she looked at a jade ring being sold. It looked very majestic and she just loved the history that came with it. So, Elektra began to bid and as she was very serious about it, she knocked out all the competition and won the ring after spending a couple of million.
After that, she didn’t bid for anything again, as the rest didn’t interest her. the auction ended on a high note and that was three hours later. The host was very hospitable and they provided a meal to pad the guests’ stomachs.
Elektra held a small plate as she stood while looking at the buffet and deciding on what to eat.
“You can pick some of that meat, I heard that it came from some endangered species or something,” a female voice sounded behind her, it didn’t carry any malicious intent but Elektra could feel and tell that this was a supernatural being.
Elektra turned her face around and looked at the young woman who was probably in her mid-twenties. She carried a familiar aura that she had not felt for some years now.
“At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter whether it is some endangered species or not. The meat will just be meat and becomes waste once eaten,” Elektra chuckled as she fully looked at this stranger who came to her.
The other woman giggled along, “Umm, I agree.”
Elektra smiled as she turned around and picked some of that meat the stranger had pointed for her.
Elektra quickly filled her plate and the stranger did the same as well. Elektra could tell that this stranger wanted to talk to her and she was also interested in the other, so she didn’t do anything to chase the other away.
“Do you mind sitting together with me?” the stranger asked as they were making tier way to the tables.
Elektra didn’t stop walking but her head turned to face the stranger and a smile appeared on her face, “no, I don’t mind. We can sit together.”
“That’s a huge relief. My husband ran away with his friends and I don’t know how long he is going to take and since I liked you, at first sight, I decided to pester you for a bit, I hope that you don’t mind!” the stranger shyly confessed and Elektra smiled.
“As long as he didn’t run away with some vixen then it is okay. We can sit together and talk about marriage life, after all, I am also a newlywed,” Elektra blushed as she thought of her husband.
The stranger was surprised to hear that but she couldn’t observe the young lady for much longer as she could tell that whatever this person was, it was quite dangerous and she didn’t want to mess with her.
The two ladies sat at a table and began to talk and get to know each other. As they were forced to speak in the universal language to communicate, it wasn’t that smooth but they still managed.
The stranger’s name was Enchantia Chavez and she was in her mid-twenties. The other had been married when she turned eighteen and her story was quite interesting that Elektra began to take the other seriously.
Their lives were very similar and even though Enchantia in this current life was older than her, they can be considered age mates. Elektra seeing how warm Enchantia was being, didn’t mind telling her own experience as well.
Enchantia had seen a lot of things and with a supporting husband and family members, she could do anything that she wanted. Enchantia gave birth to her first child when she was about to turn nineteen and she was blessed with two more in a span of four years and after that, she firmly refused to birth another child, and luckily her husband Keaton supported that.
He didn’t want to see her suffering during childbirth, the third pregnancy was quite a hustle and she nearly lost her life and none of the family members wanted to see that again.
Enchantia ended up making a concoction for herself to stop her fertile womb from going crazy again. Elektra was loving listening to this, she felt that she needed to spice this story up and tell it to her listeners.
Enchantia looked at Elektra who gave her a scary vibe and reminded her of a certain vampire she met some years ago, “so, what are you?”
