CHAPTER 48: BIRTHDAY BANQUET 4

“So, on this wonderful evening, I just want to say happy birthday my beloved wife Elektra Clark Murray,” and with that beautiful confession, Kasper ended his shocking speech.

“Thank you,” Elektra sincerely responded as she looked at her husband with affectionate eyes.

How could they tolerate being fed dog food?

It was quite shocking to everyone actually, they all just didn’t get it, they didn’t want to believe it but now after the man said it, it was official. Kasper Murray is now married to a little vixen and the thought of that frustrated everyone.

Among the guests, Nathan was holding Jill’s hand as he tried his best to comfort the other. He had been in love with Jill since day one and yet Jill had never looked at him the same way.

Being in love with someone who doesn’t know your feelings or simply just ignores them, was really quite stressful and heart-wrenching. The only thing that Nathan could do for Jill was to be there for her.

He couldn’t force Kasper to love Jill as Kasper was way too much than him and he didn’t want the other to take him as the enemy. He also couldn’t force Jill to love him like that won't be love. He wanted her to love him willingly and with all of her heart and not the other way round.

[I can’t believe that he is really married!]

[Are my ears playing me? He really is ………….]

They were all talking and whispering to each other as the M.C took over.

“I am Celia, Kasper's youngest sister,” Celia decided to introduce herself to Elektra as her brother was still quiet about it and she was losing her patience already.

Elektra looked at Celia whom she had seen earlier and had been taking notice of, she had seen the other on social media as Celia was a socialite and an influencer and she is really good at it.

Elektra had a smile on her face even though no one could see it. At this moment she was holding a glass of champagne and swirling the glass as drinking was a little bit difficult. She didn’t want to flip her veil and expose her beautiful face to anyone.

As the banquet was a place to have fun and enjoy, most people did exactly that. Since they weren’t able to capture Kasper’s heart, there were still many other fishes to fry and they couldn’t let them go.

“It's nice finally meeting you,” Elektra politely responded as she looked at the other.

Just like that, a formal and informal conversation between the two began and Elektra found out that she truly enjoyed talking to Celia who was practically feeding her gossip about Vrak society.

As Celia and Elektra bonded while having some champagne, Kasper was busy talking to Bryce.

“Man, when am I going to see your beloved’s face?” Bryce teased as he watched as Celia and Elektra laughed together.

It felt really different seeing Celia being carefree with someone she didn’t know. Celia was picky so it was hard to convince her or be her friend. As an older brother, he wanted to see her happy with friends of her age.

Kasper didn’t respond to Bryce first but looked at Elektra who had genuinely befriended his sister before turning back to Bryce, “if you bring a satisfactory present for her, I may reconsider.”

Bryce chuckled after hearing that, he wondered what kind of a gift will satisfy this brother of his?

He was a man with everything but when he looked at Elektra, a solution quickly came to his head, “I will bring it as soon as possible then. So, brother tells me, are you really serious about her?”

Kasper sipped his wine and looked lazily at Bryce with a smile on his face as the thought of Elektra always make him like this, “Ummm, I have never been serious about anything in my life. She is my life and I am serious about her.”

Bryce didn’t know how to take that but seeing the love in Kasper’s eyes, he just wanted him to be happy. He didn’t want him to fall for some vixen who had schemed her way into Kasper’s life and his family.

He had seen too many cases of something like that and he didn’t want anyone close to him to fall prey to such schemes. The two brothers talked for a while and Kasper didn’t forget to add more food to Elektra's plate once in a while.

At some point, Elektra and Kasper went on the dance floor and gave the first dance. Seeing two matching individuals dancing in harmony and love in their eyes, even Jill who hated Elektra to the bone couldn’t help but feel jealous.

Only if he could look at her like that, won't her life be blissful?

The married couple danced for two songs and everyone who felt like dancing joined in. after the third song, Elektra was feeling tired and since she wasn’t used to dancing, she just wanted to find the nearest chair and sit.

Kasper didn’t make things difficult for her and took her back but instead of the table they were seated before, he took her to meet his friends. They have already met before so they weren’t strangers to each other.

Last time, Elektra met Nathan, Alan, and Prince. Jill came to her home uninvited but she still met him and the only person she had not met last time was Michael who had been overseas with work.

Elektra greeted them enthusiastically as there was no harm in doing that. To give her a face, they politely greeted her and gave her warm birthday wishes. As for the gifts, they were already taken when they arrived, so Elektra was going to check them later.

Elektra and Kasper sat with the group of friends and chatted for a while. Jill was the first to leave as she had received a call; Elektra didn’t really care about her as having such a person around her beloved was just dangerous for her.

At some point, Elektra left the gang and went to the restroom. After drinking a lot, her bladder was complaining and she needed some release.
