CHAPTER 34: WE HAVE A PROBLEM

While Elektra was getting to know her mother-in-law well back in Vrak, in Bares it wasn’t peaceful at all.

Pearle was stricken when she replayed and listened to Lady Frost’s stories. She was forced to listen to the first story and she was relieved that it had nothing to do with her or her family.

However, ‘HER OBSESSION’ was different. At first, the story wasn’t that familiar as she didn’t know how her father, Cleo’s mother, or her mother met. So, listening to this point of view made her feel complicated.

If it wasn’t for the similar events that happened to her and her family, she would have rubbed the story away. But everything being narrated there except the different names, that was her family story being aired out in the open.

Many things didn’t really go as narrated but everything was the same. It was quite easy for Pearle to find the identity of this Lady Frost who was practically her nightmare but to her shocking surprise, she failed to find it.

She was so angry when she failed to find what she wanted and she came to a realization that someone way high on the top was protecting this person.

And when she remembers seeing the young girl who had bought that sparrow bracelet and told her that she was her worst nightmare before leaving, she just didn’t want to label them as one person.

There was no way that rich young miss who had flaunted her money and authority back at the auction be so low to do a Live stream for a living.

Since she failed to settle the issue by herself, Pearle could only trust the one person who had helped her to be where she is right now. Pearle and her brother were in a tricky situation, even though they had been gathering forces secretly, they still couldn’t match up with Hope.

But Robert came into her life like a miracle and shone her world bright. With the help of Robert, Pearle was able to stand up for herself and began to fight for her rights and what she deserves.

She never really asked or was suspicious of how Robert knew so much about her family. To her, as long as Hope and Cleo were removed from her family then nothing else matters.

What scared her the most was the ending, before Hope had hanged herself, she had really visited the other and tormented her severely. She had haunted Hope knowing that despite Hope being a terrible person, she was very good to her daughter, Cleo.

Actually, Pearle was very jealous of Cleo, Hope loved her daughter so much and even though she was a bit selfish, she was willing to walk on fire for Cleo and Pearle wanted that for herself.

Her mother passed on when she was very young and she never really got a chance to spend time with her, and after pining for some motherly love she never received from Hope, she finally received the sad and horrible news that Hope was the person who was responsible for her mother’s death.

Pearle was very devastated when she heard the news and she finally found a way to vent out her frustrations at Hope. So, she worked with Robert to send Hope to prison and to make Hope’s life so miserable they also attacked Cleo.

Pearle wanted Cleo to live long but miserably, but she never expected that Cleo would die so suddenly before Hope. This news took her by surprise and even when her father buried the mother and daughter side by side, she still didn’t believe that Cleo was dead.

She felt as if she was being mocked and Cleo was playing a prank on her. Cleo had always been scheming so Pearle found it difficult to believe that Cleo was really dead and gone.

After so many years of peace, this Lady frost suddenly popped up from nowhere and began to air out secrets that should have remained hidden. What if someone were to arrange the puzzle pieces together and learn the truth, wouldn’t they be doomed?

So, after analyzing everything, Pearle decided to confide in her husband, maybe he will find some measures on how to deal with the situation.

Robert returned home to his beloved family and all he could think of was to see that lovely face that got him going on even when things were hard in his past life. Even when he made a lot of money in his life and became someone, he only had eyes for Pearle and no one else.

As someone who received a second chance, he could have kept a harem for himself and been surrounded by numerous women or men but his heart was too small for that and only prefers Pearle.

So, when this henpecked husband arrived home and saw the sullen expression on his wife’s face, he immediately became moody as there was one thing that he hated the most and it was to see Pearle being sad and bullied.

He had not seen this kind of expression after the death of Hope and Cleo. All Pearle’s enemies he got rid of secretly and he didn’t need to worry about them, so now he was wondering who was troubling his woman.

When Pearle saw her husband who had come home, she threw herself into his embrace and began to sob softly and quietly. She just wanted to vent and let out all her frustrations and she could only do that in the presence of Robert as the man never judged her but always had her interests in heart.

After letting her cry for a while, Robert helped Pearle to the couch as he wanted to know why Pearle was this sad, “tell me, who made you upset?”

Hearing that angry tone from Robert, Pearle was at ease. Whenever things were not going her way, it was always best to rely on her man, “I think that………. someone knows about what happened with Hope and Cleo.”

Robert thought that his hearing was bad but seeing Pearle’s serious and anxious expression he finally let it sink that things were really bad this time. Even his own facial expression changed.

“Tell me about everything!” his tone was no longer that soft and doting like he always uses on her and Pearle was a bit shaken when she heard him but what can she expect when things were already this serious?

“Explaining to you will not do it justice, how about I show you and you can judge it for yourself?” Pearle truly found it difficult to explain and decided to let him see it for himself.
