CHAPTER 70: SCHOOL CLOSES
Elektra had taken two weeks' leave at school so she didn’t need to go until the next Monday. At the same time, there wasn’t much to do there as the lecturers were busy marking the papers and other exams were still ongoing.
Elektra spent her days at home, playing with Anisha and making intense love with her husband at night. She also didn’t forget to give her beloved ones the present she brought for them.
For a couple of days, Elektra went to live in the old mansion and she talked with the matriarch about the wedding. The wedding was going to be held in the next two months and most of the things were already done.
Aaliyah was very happy to receive Elektra’s present and her love for the daughter-in-law intensified.
By the time Elektra returned to school, the semester was coming to an end which was a great thing to hear. They were only two semesters in a year so when they close, the vacation was two months long and it gave the students a lot of time to go wild.
As Elektra wasn’t friends with Molly and Faith anymore, she was with Hartley who was crazy as before. They have talked on the phone while she wasn’t at school and seeing the little girl again made her heart very warm.
On the day that the university closed and the semester ended, they were forced to listen to boring speeches for hours and also received the announcement of results coming out one month later.
This was very normal and Elektra felt no pressure as there was no way that she can fail any of her exams. She wanted to continue with her studies, and it wasn’t because of her love of school but she was currently in the middle of another treasure hunt and school libraries were treasure troves that could bring out the best in any person.
At the end of the day, Hartley followed Elektra like a puppy and they ran across Molly who was with her new friends. Elektra didn’t hate these people as she knows fully how jealousy can make people do crazy things for no reason at all.
“Who was it who said that she will never wag her tail at Elektra?”
“And guess who is now acting as a loyal dog? Aren’t you ashamed?”
Hartley stopped and looked angrily at this group of people; she was simply tongue-tied. What they said was all true but she didn’t want to have Elektra be reminded of her foolish days.
“And how does this concern you? Are you so much used to people following you that you can’t let others follow their own hearts?” Elektra responded with questions of her own before Hartley could explode.
It wasn’t every day you see an angry Elektra and Hartley seeing that Elektra was behaving like this for her, she was so touched she vowed to be a good girl and follow the steps of Elektra, whatever they were.
“You…….” Moly was so angry; she knew that she wasn’t able to defeat Elektra in anything.
Before she always thought that she was superior to the other, and she was very ugly and that is the reason why she hides her face but who knew that Elektra was different.
Molly was used to having the attention circling around her and having someone take that away from her, she hated Elektra so much. She didn’t even care that Elektra was Kasper’s wife, she hated the fact that an orphan managed to climb her way up into the top eight.
This was every girl’s dream and yet Elektra was receiving everything on a silver platter. How can she keep on liking the other?
At the same time, she couldn’t offend Elektra which is why she attacked Hartley, but who knew that Elektra could defend Hartley. Didn’t these two hate each other a lot?
Even though they were close now, was their friendship really genuine and not just for show?
“Molly since we were friends for a while, please just stay away from me if you don’t like me. Don’t show up and provoke me repeatedly as one day I will completely erupt and the consequences are something that you wouldn’t want to face,” Elektra warned with a chilling voice.
Those that were around couldn’t help but shiver with fear. Molly, Faith, and Hartley knew that Elektra wasn’t kidding. Her backing was very strong and if she wanted their families gone from Vrak, all she needed to do was say it and it will be done.
Molly was so angry that even if the threat really chilled her and she was scared, she didn’t want to give up but Faith the sly one held her hand to calm her down.
“We will not disturb you again!” Faith was very clever and she knew how to read people, so she decided to concede defeat and if there was an opportunity in the future, they will take it.
Molly glared angrily at Faith but seeing the warning gaze in Faith’s eyes, she decided to behave and let the matter rest.
Hartley watched in awe as the group of girls left dejectedly and defeated with just a few words. Hartley was so happy that she hugged Elektra so tightly and Elektra could only let them do this.
“Ahhhhhhhh, I am so happy. Do you know how much I was suppressed by those two even before we met? Seeing them so defeated like this, I feel as if I have won the lotto!” Hartley exclaimed happily as the two walked towards the parking space.
“If you let others bully you constantly, only you will lose. You need to learn how to stand up for yourself but at the same time, don’t bully others in return. Not everyone is easy to bully, there are so many crouching tigers out there!” Elektra advised as she recalled how Pearl destroyed her and her mother.
They had always thought that she was meek and she will never be able to do anything but who knew that the one person they thought wasn’t a threat led them to their deaths?
The thought of it made Elektra so angry as she failed to see her mother for the last time. She got separated from Hope and will never be able to see her again and this truly pained her.
She prayed that her mother will find peace in her next life.
