CHAPTER 33: MOTHER-IN-LAW

Ever since Kasper and Elektra got married, this news couldn’t be hidden from Aaliyah who always kept her eyes and ears everywhere. Even though her granddaughter spoke highly of this young girl whom she was biased against simply because she didn’t know her much and that she didn’t take her son in her eyes, she just wanted to see the other with her own eyes first.

This is why Aaliyah sneaked so many times to look at Elektra from afar. Even though she wasn’t able to see the other’s face, she was glad about the news that she heard from her men and what she saw with her own eyes.

Elektra was not like some of those ladies she knew. She didn’t have many friends and those that she had, she kept minimum contact with them. Aaliyah had the three girls investigated and the results were a bit disturbing.

Aaliyah had been waiting for weeks for her son to bring Elektra home but it seems like her son wasn’t planning on that. She finally got tired of waiting and decided to take matters into her own hands. Her father and mother-in-law were both in the countryside enjoying their retirement which left her as the Matriarch of the house.

Her children, most of them were married and living outside and this included Celia, her youngest daughter who rarely stays at home as she is always traveling and going places.

If it wasn’t for Anisha living with her, Aaliyah would be bored to death. So, Aaliyah who was dying to meet her daughter-in-law devised a plan that she carried out without fearing the consequences.

So, you can imagine when Elektra who had just been knocked off from school suddenly realized that her driver wasn’t the one, she was used to. As the man had a smile on his face that didn’t look menacing, Elektra decided to follow along.

The driver and the bodyguards were very relieved to see Elektra cooperating and they took her to the Murray’s ancestral home safely and peacefully.

It was the first time that Elektra saw this legendary ancestral home of the Murray’s and she felt very envois in the process. No matter how much money she has in this life, it will still not match up to a family like this.

Kasper himself has a lot of money, assets and it was more than what she owns. Elektra has a few businesses around that she doesn’t manage and have people delegated to do that. Their superior is Miley, who doesn’t look like someone who can hurt a fly but she is very good when it comes to management.

Her golden sponsors were rich but they still couldn’t match up to one person, this was simply frustrating but at the end of the day, Elektra was relieved when she recalled that the man, she was envious of was her husband.

When the car came to a stop, Elektra was welcomed with a bunch of servants that could have scared an ordinary person but who was Elektra?

Elektra confidently stepped on the ground and looked at the servants with an elegant smile on her face. If someone were to see this scene, they would think that Elektra was the madam of the house and not a guest as Aaliyah and her family had not accepted Elektra into the family yet.

Aaliyah was watching from the window upstairs, she wanted to scare the little girl but who knew that the eyes of the girl left Aaliyah a woman who had been scheming and ruling the world with an iron fist, shake.

Those eyes weren’t the eyes of an ordinary girl, “just who exactly are you Elektra?”

Elektra who didn’t cower when seeing so many faces, sneered as she labeled her mother-in-law as childish. The butler who was also shocked what he had just seen, politely escorted Elektra inside the house as he didn’t want to be on the wrong side of this scary young girl.

Elektra was taken to a small salon where she was going to meet with the legendary Murray’s matriarch. Elektra sat down and politely answered whenever she was asked.

The butler who loved that voice, brought her some lemon water to quench her thirst and left. Elektra was left to her own devices as she was waited for Aaliyah to grace her with her presence.

As much as Elektra wanted to wait patiently for this woman who was trying to make her life difficult, she took out her phone and began to play with it. She wasn’t afraid of Aaliyah or anyone else.

As long as Elektra wills it, she was capable of making this beautiful and ancient mansion disintegrate into nothing within an hour, so how can she fear a human being she didn’t even need to look at to get rid of?

Aaliyah who thought that Elektra will be nervous and anxious waiting for her was shocked when she received the news that Elektra was busy playing games. She was so angry that she immediately went downstairs to meet this mysterious girl who had bewitched not only her son but her granddaughter.

When Aaliyah walked into the salon, Elektra who had just lost a game, was in the middle of frowning and seeing the woman who had made her wait for almost thirty minutes, she wanted to snap at the other.

But the reminder that this woman was the mother of her husband calmed her down and she put her phone to sleep as she stood on her feet.

Aaliyah didn’t like the fact that she had been disrespected in her own home, she was about to berate the other when she saw the young girl lift her hand and it went behind her head.

Aaliyah immediately held her tongue as her heartbeat wildly. She guessed that the mystery was about to be revealed and all her pent-up anger was quickly replaced by her eagerness to see the secret that Elektra had been hiding.

Elektra smirked as she gauged Aaliyah’s reaction, she had learned a very long time ago that removing her veil was the best way of shutting people who like nagging a lot.

She wasn’t in the mood of quarreling as she was sure that no matter how powerful she is; it will be a bad idea to get on Aaliyah’s wrong side. It wasn’t wise to be your mother-in-law’s enemy especially women like Aaliyah.

So, Aaliyah was planning on winning Aaliyah with her looks and in the future, she will give her something that will make her so dear to her own heart. Since she no longer has a mother or father, Elektra didn’t mind having a replacement and Aaliyah was the perfect choice for her.
