CHAPTER 27: MOTHER AND DAUGHTER

Elektra was teary as she looked at the young girl who had just asked her a question that got her stunned in place. To be honest, before she used to hate kids a lot.

They were very noisy and she always thought that they were a burden and Elektra didn’t want that at all. after the incident that happened in her first life, her chance of getting pregnant was taken and at that time she was suffering and at her
lowest point.

In her second life, she became a creature that couldn’t talk, think and only relied on instincts to survive. It wasn’t easy for her to regain her consciousness and become half human again.

However, her becoming a mother was something that was out of the question and she also didn’t have any patience with them.

In her third life, she didn’t expect that she will have an affinity with children.
Having Anisha pestering her like that and showing her genuine like towards her came as a huge shock.

And for the first time in any of her lives, Elektra wanted to get to know children and play with them. Anisha is a young adult so she isn’t that difficult to play with.

She would tell her stories when she was going to bed even though most of the stories are not suitable for children. Elektra can’t cook so forget about having her make a meal for the child.

In summary, Elektra had not done much for Anisha so having her call her mother, was a great honor and it made Elektra who was literally cold and without a normal beating heart felt touched.

Anisha was nervous, as a child who grew up without a mother and had her friends talk about their own mothers, she was always filled with envy. Some so many women wanted to get close to her so that they may attract her super dad but her dad was very cold and had never glanced at them.

Anisha wanted her dad to marry someone who will love her and look at her genuinely, other than someone who was with them for the sake of wealth and fame.

It wasn’t a surprise that women will want that from their family but being wishful wouldn’t hurt.

Anisha didn’t know who her mother is and whether she is still alive or long dead and at this stage she didn’t care at all. if that woman had cared for her, wouldn’t she have left something for her at least to remember her?

Even her own dad had no idea about her mom’s identity so Anisha took it upon herself to search for the perfect candidate for her stepmom. As a child Anisha grew up hearing the story of Cinderella and others, so she was afraid of being mistreated by a step-mon.

As she grew up, Anisha became cleverer and her eyes were good at judging so she trusted them a lot.

On that fateful day, she was feeling down when she saw Elektra and she took a liking to her instantly. At first, it was because she was curious about the face hidden behind that veil but as time went on, it changed into something real and genuine.

Anisha liked the fact that Elektra wasn’t rough to her and still tolerated her even though Elektra wasn’t liking it. Elektra would reprimand her here and there, thinking that she escaped from school or home.

It came to the point when her dad became aware of it and he did something that Anisha applauded him for. Her dad was majestic and she really felt grateful for the bold move he did.

Even though she was eight, she wasn’t stupid to not know how her dad is. Her dad was feared, envied, looked upon by many people. He was also ruthless to his enemies and he was someone who took whatever he likes.

So, when she saw Elektra in the house and those eyes looking at her with resentment, she knew that her dad had done something and she was going to make Elektra like her and probably her dad.

Living in the same house with the person she set her eyes on to become her step-mom. Anisha for the first time felt like her family was complete. It wasn’t easy for Elektra to warm up to both her and her dad but in the end, it still worked out.

When the two started a cold war and she was sent to her grandma’s place, Anisha was on her toes every day. Her grandma was someone who didn’t like jokes and Anisha was afraid that her grandma will reject Elektra, so whenever she asked her about Elektra, Anisha will praise her to the nines, as she wanted her granny to love Elektra too.

When her dad called her and told her that he got married to Elektra, she was so happy she instructed the driver to take her back to Gardenia mansion as she wanted to see Elektra as soon as possible.

And now, Anisha was playing with the hem of her dress, nervous to hear the response from Elektra. She wanted to be hugged by her and hear those magic words and the more Elektra delayed in responding, she was becoming teary.

Elektra was stunned in place but looking at the child who was about to cry, Elektra finally woke up and took large strides towards Anisha and picked her up in her arms.

This action made Anisha who was about to cry to cry for real and Elektra found this a bit troublesome as she was forced to coax Anisha for a while until the girl was sniffing but quiet.

“Don’t cry, you can call me whatever you want as long as it makes you happy. If you are comfortable in calling me mom, then go ahead. I am happy to gain that recognition from you,” Elektra softly spoke as she coaxed her stepdaughter.

Anisha smiled shyly as she peeped at Elektra, her eyes filled with excitement, “can I really call you that?”

Elektra sighed looking at the excited child, “umm, you can, and from now on, I will go to any activity that requires a parent if your dad is busy.”

Hearing that, Anisha was all over the moon and decided to treat this mother well, she didn’t know what may happen in the future when she has her own children. So, while she has a chance to print herself deep in Elektra’s heart, she was going to work hard on it.
