Chapter 104

Upon learning of the recent developments, Caleb was impressed. “I had no idea my granddaughter was capable of something like this,” he remarked to Victor.

“She has a friend named Jacob who’s highly skilled in hacking,” Victor explained.

“I’ve heard of him, but I didn’t realize he had the ability to completely silence the internet, including the media. That’s impressive,” Caleb acknowledged, praising the young man even in his absence.

“Indeed. I wonder how they managed to pull it off. Perhaps Lily did something else to ensure they stopped discussing the issue. Now, all the news online highlights the positive contributions of both families to society, which has helped the stock prices recover.”

“As for the stock prices, I’m sure there were many who bought in when they were low. Those individuals are quite fortunate,” Caleb noted.

“Yes, sir.”

Lily tried to rise from the bed, but Alexander held her down with his arms.

“Alexander, let go,” she protested, her strength depleted from the night before.

He shook his head. “No.”

Lily smiled and gave him a quick kiss.

“Not enough,” Alexander said, shaking his head.

Lily grinned. “How about this?” She locked lips with him, deepening the kiss. Alexander rolled her over, intensifying the embrace. By the time they parted, she was breathless.

“Alexander, if you don’t let me go, how am I supposed to get Viola ready for school?” She pouted.

He stared at her silently.

“What is it?” she asked, noticing his intense gaze.

“I think Viola should resume homeschooling.”

Lily was surprised by his sudden decision. “But she just stopped homeschooling recently.”

“I know, but I believe it’s best for now.”

“Is this because of Ariana?”

“She’s trouble.”

“Alexander, what happened before won’t happen again. We’ve made sure of that. She’ll always be protected. Besides, Ariana doesn’t pose a threat now; she claims to have amnesia, so I’m waiting to see her next move.”

Alexander was prepared to go to any lengths to protect his family. No one would harm them, but he remained vigilant.

As for the contract Lily signed with Ariana for a project, Alexander had reviewed it and realized it was impossible to terminate. All he could do now was double Lily’s security and keep a close watch on Ariana to know her plans.

The week passed quietly, and by Friday, Ariana had purchased a new home in the estate where Lily and Alexander’s second house was located. She spent the week gathering information on their activities. She learned that the family of three usually spent weekends at their second house, so she decided to buy a house nearby.

She had initially wanted to purchase a home in the estate where their main mansion was situated, but it was too well-guarded. According to the real estate agent, not just anyone was allowed to buy property there; it was one of Alexander’s most secure estates. The estate where she bought her house also belonged to one of Alexander’s numerous properties and featured the best home designs.

As she stepped out of the car, her mother followed.

“The house is beautiful, Ariana,” her mother admired as they entered. “You made a good choice.”

“Yes, I did. Do you know why I bought it?”

Mrs. Martins eyed her daughter suspiciously. “Your reasons usually revolve around the Kane family. So, what is it this time?”

Ariana walked ahead and turned to face her mother. “You must have noticed the mansion on the hillside, a little way from us.”

“Yes, I saw it. It’s stunning and much larger than any house in this estate.”

“That house belongs to Alexander Kane. It’s their second home,” she smiled.

Clara frowned. “I knew it. You always do things because of them. Why not focus on living your life instead of chasing after Alexander?”

“Alexander is my life, Mother. If it weren’t impossible to get a house where their main mansion is, I would have moved there instead,” she retorted.

Clara sighed. “First, you lied about losing your memory and had me instruct the doctors to create fake medical reports about your amnesia, all for your ridiculous plan to win over Alexander.”

“Correction, Mother. I won’t be ‘winning him over’; I’ll make Alexander come to me willingly.”

“Good luck with that, but be careful not to harm his child,” Clara warned, aware of her daughter’s capabilities.

Ariana smirked. “It’s already the weekend, Mother. Guess what?”

Clara, already tired, braced herself for something outrageous. “What?”

“They always spend weekends at their second home, so today, they’ll be coming here.”

“Is that why you made us move in on the same day you bought the house?”

“Of course, why else?”

The house was fully furnished, making it easy to move in immediately.

Clara sighed. “What are you planning, Ariana?”

Ariana smiled. “Be patient, Mother. You’ll see.” She had everything meticulously planned. She knew Alexander had been keeping an eye on her, which is why she remained discreet. His men, who were monitoring her, had no idea she was in the estate.

She also knew that Alexander always arrived at their weekend mansion before Lily and their child. So, when he arrived, she planned to visit the mansion with her mother to apologize for her past actions. She intended to reveal that it was her mother who had told her about her betrayal and then offer to return what she had taken from Alexander.

This was all part of her strategy to slowly win Alexander back, convinced that he hadn’t completely forgotten about her.

She smiled, confident in her plan.
