Chapter 148

As the morning light spread over the factory grounds, a quiet tension settled among the team. They had rescued Viola, but Ariana’s escape weighed heavily on all of them. Inside the control room, Jacob was pacing, trying to piece together where Ariana might go next.

“She’s too smart to stay in one place for long,” Jacob said, glancing at the map on the screen. “But we’ve cut off her usual safe houses.”

Michael nodded in agreement. “That’s true, but Ariana’s not the type to give up. She’ll regroup and come back with another plan.”

Meanwhile, outside, Alexander and Lily stood near the factory gates, still reeling from the media’s announcement that no one was found in the burning car. Relief filled the air, but they both knew this wasn’t over.

“We have to stay ahead of her,” Alexander said, looking at Lily. “She’s already on the run, but if she strikes again, it could be worse.”

Lily nodded. “I know. She’s always been a step ahead, but this time we’ll be ready.”

Suddenly, their conversation was interrupted by a distant sound—the roar of a helicopter overhead. It circled low before descending to land near them. As the blades slowed, Caleb emerged from the factory and joined them.

“What’s going on?” Alexander asked.

Caleb’s face was grim. “I’ve received new intel. Ariana’s not just running—she’s planning something bigger. Something that could take down more than just us.”

“What do you mean?” Lily asked, her eyes narrowing.

“We intercepted some chatter from her network,” Caleb explained. “She’s contacted a group outside of the country, and they’re helping her gather resources for her next move. Whatever she’s planning, it’s far more dangerous than anything she’s done before.”

Lily clenched her fists. “We can’t let her get away with this.”

“No, we can’t,” Caleb agreed. “But we don’t know where she’s heading. We need to track down her contacts and cut off her resources before she can launch another attack.”

Just as they were strategizing, a voice crackled through Caleb’s comms. “Sir, we’ve got something. A signal just came through—a private jet left the country about an hour ago. It was registered under a fake name, but we believe it’s connected to Ariana.”

Caleb turned to Alexander and Lily, his expression serious. “She’s already gone. If we don’t move fast, she’ll disappear for good.”

Alexander’s jaw tightened. “Then we don’t have a moment to waste.”

Inside the factory, Michael continued to monitor the situation from the control room. He tapped into the global satellite system, trying to trace Ariana’s movements.

“There’s one more thing,” Michael said, speaking into the comms. “Ariana didn’t leave alone. Someone’s with her.”

“Who?” Alexander asked, his voice tense.

Michael’s fingers flew across the keyboard, accessing the flight logs. “It’s hard to say, but it looks like… Samson.”

“What?” Caleb said, surprise in his voice. “He was just here with us.”

“Apparently not anymore,” Michael replied, leaning back in his chair. “It looks like he’s switched sides again.”

“That traitor,” Alexander muttered, his mind racing. Samson had been their inside man, helping them track Ariana’s movements, but now it seemed like he had betrayed them once more.

Lily’s expression darkened. “If Samson’s with her, it changes everything. He knows too much about our operations. If he tells her, we’re all vulnerable.”

Alexander nodded. “We can’t let them get too far. We need to intercept that plane.”

Caleb stepped forward. “I’ll make the arrangements. But if they’ve already left the country, we might be too late.”

As they scrambled to mobilize their resources, Ariana’s plan was already unfolding in the skies above them. Inside the private jet, she sat calmly in her seat, her fingers drumming on the armrest. Samson sat across from her, a conflicted look on his face.

“I knew you’d come back to me,” Ariana said, her voice smooth. “You’re too valuable to stay with them.”

Samson remained silent for a moment, his mind torn between loyalty and survival. He had switched sides so many times, he wasn’t sure who he was anymore. But Ariana had a way of making everything sound simple—like his choices were never really his to make.

“What’s your next move?” he finally asked.

Ariana’s eyes gleamed. “Oh, Samson, I’ve barely begun. The factory was just the start. They think they’ve won, but the real battle is about to begin.”

As the jet soared through the clouds, Ariana’s mind raced with her next plan. She had a network of allies waiting in the shadows, ready to strike when she gave the word. This was more than a personal vendetta now—it was about control, power, and making sure no one stood in her way again.

Back on the ground, Alexander and Lily prepared to follow her trail. With Caleb’s team ready to move, they knew the stakes had never been higher. The final showdown with Ariana was coming, but this time, it wouldn’t just be about survival—it would be about ending her reign of terror once and for all.

And with Samson’s betrayal hanging over their heads, they had to act fast before Ariana’s next move caught them all off guard.
