Chapter 15

Earlier that day, Lilly had woken up early and decided to prepare a very delicious meal for Grandma Helen. The kitchen chef and Camila had helped in providing all she needed. She made a very delicious meal, which was Grandma Helen's favorite.

Grandma Helen had mentioned her favorite meal last night when they spoke, so Lilly decided to make it for her. She prepared vegetable salad, fish soup, rice, and other side dishes.

"Wow, you cooked a lot?"

"Yes, Grandma Helen, with the help of the chef. Come sit and eat before it gets cold." Lilly shifted the chair so Grandma Helen could sit.

"It smells so nice, and they are all my favorites."

"Have a taste, Grandma."

Grandma Helen tasted the dishes and was in awe. "This tastes so good."

"You love it?"

"Of course I do. It's better than the chef's cooking."

The chef, who was standing close by, heard what Grandma Helen said and felt like he was useless.

"Helen, the food that was made yesterday was really great," Lilly said, praising the chef, who indeed was a great cook.

"You are a greater cook," Grandma Helen praised even more.

Lilly smiled. "Thanks, Grandma."

They were in the middle of the meal when Camila came down and whispered something in Grandma Helen's ear.

Grandma Helen nodded and stood up. "I will be back."

"Okay, Grandma."

"Keep on eating."

Lilly nodded and watched as they left the dining area. She ate slowly while waiting for Grandma Helen to return, and after about 15 minutes, Grandma Helen came back, and they continued eating.

Lilly heard a little bit of noise and knew someone came but had left later.

After they were done eating, they decided to do something recreational. Lilly was awed at how good Grandma Helen was with painting; she, on the other hand, was a bad painter.

"Grandma, you are so talented. This is really beautiful," she said, staring at the painting Grandma Helen made of a mountain.

Grandma Helen smiled as she kept on painting. "It's a hobby."

"It's just too perfect," Lilly admired her painting. "Which mountain is this, Grandma?"

"A mountain I always go to for prayers a few times a year."

She felt a bit of sadness from Grandma Helen's statement and suspected that whatever reason she goes to that mountain to pray was a sad one.

"Can I come with you the next time you go up there to pray?"

Grandma Helen stopped painting and looked at the young lady in surprise, as if she did not expect her to say that. "Would it not be boring for you to do so? Young kids these days love to do something fun instead of following us old people who are absolutely boring."

"You are fun to be with, Grandma, and going to the mountain to pray is a wonderful thing to do, especially if we are doing it for our loved ones. Truth is, I would love to go to the mountain to pray for my loved ones, especially those I have lost." Lilly suddenly felt a pain in her chest when she remembered her sisters; she held tightly to the dress she was wearing.

Grandma Helen had noticed this. "You mean those who own the scarf you always hold on to?"

Lilly was taken by surprise. She looked at Grandma Helen and nodded sadly. "Yes."

Grandma Helen had done her findings about her and knew for a fact that she has no family, so whoever these people are, they must have been like family, but she never got any information about such people.

Grandma Helen sighed and stood up. "You should go in and rest because later in the day, we will go out for shopping. There are things I need to get, and I want you to come with me."

"Shopping?"

"Yes, it's been a while since I went out for shopping, and now that you are here, we should go out." Grandma Helen smiled and became excited.

Seeing Grandma Helen's excitement, Lilly nodded. "Okay, Grandma."

Later that day, they got ready and left the house to the mall, with another car filled with guards following behind them.

Grandma Helen sighed the moment the car started moving. "My grandson can be overly protective. Just look at the number of guards following us because we are going out for shopping."

Lilly smiled. She suddenly remembered her grandfather.

When she and her sisters were younger and anytime they were going out for things like this, he would send so many bodyguards to protect them. This continued even when they were schooling in Country C, far from home.

If not for Grandma Helen, she doubted she would have been able to come to this place, not when they were still searching for her.

With the number of bodyguards following them, she didn't need to be so cautious of her environment.

The car stopped in front of the most luxurious mall she had ever seen, and on the top of the mall was boldly written "ONYX Mall," meaning it belongs to the Kane family.

The guards opened the door for them, and they stepped out, then guided them as they walked into the mall with everyone's attention on them.

They could not miss the aura of both the older and younger ladies surrounded by bodyguards. Some had wanted to take pictures of such important women when the guards had stopped them from doing so; not everyone knew who the madam of the Kane family was.

Recognizing the madam of the Kane family, one of the mall managers rushed towards them with up to 20 shopping assistants.

The manager bowed his head low in respect. "Mrs. Kane, what a surprise to see you in the mall after such a long time."
