Chapter 95

Alexander held the top of the gun that Lily was gripping. "Let go," she demanded, but he shook his head.

"Please, let me handle this. The last thing I want is for your hands to be tainted with this," Alexander urged.

"No, Alexander. I need to do this myself. She's my blood, and if anyone should be responsible, it should be..."

"It shouldn't be you," Peter said from behind, causing both Alexander and Lily to turn around.

Peter walked towards them until he was standing in front of them.

"Dad, what are you doing here?" Lily asked, surprised to see her father at the base. The last thing she wanted was for him to witness her taking Kate’s life, given that Kate was still his daughter, despite everything.

Peter glanced at Kate, who was barely recognizable due to the torture she had endured. He averted his gaze, deeply affected by seeing his daughter in such a state.

Peter turned back to Lily and Alexander. "You should listen to Alexander. Your hands should remain clean. If anyone has to end Kate’s life, it certainly shouldn't be you, Lily. She's your blood, and though she may deserve her fate, you shouldn't carry that burden. If you do this, you'll never forget it; this day will haunt you forever."

"I've already made up my mind, Father," Lily said, resolute.

Peter stepped closer and gently took the gun from her hand. "You don't have to do this."

Alexander observed the exchange, relieved that Peter was there to dissuade her. He would take care of things himself. He didn’t want Lily to bear the weight of this act.

After convincing Lily to step back, Peter approached Kate, who was tied to a chair nearby. She was so battered that her face was almost unrecognizable.

"Kate," he called, and she slowly raised her head, wincing in pain. When she realized it was her father standing before her, she scoffed. "What do you want?" she asked angrily, her father being the last person she wanted to see.

"I'm sorry for not being a good father," he said, his voice heavy with regret.

Kate was taken aback by his words.

"I'm sorry for not guiding you better. If I hadn't overlooked so much in the past, perhaps things wouldn't have come to this."

Despite her pain, Kate let out a bitter laugh. "For your information, I disowned you as my father a long time ago. You're nothing to me now, so I don't care what you have to say," she sneered. "But know this—my death will haunt you forever for just standing by and watching."

Her words echoed in his mind, but Peter responded with sorrow. "You're right, it will haunt me, but not for the reasons you think. It will haunt me because I am to blame for all of this. If I hadn't betrayed Lily's mother by getting involved with Bella, you wouldn't have been born into this world. My infidelity brought you into existence, and for that, I'm entirely to blame."

His words shocked Kate, bringing tears to her eyes. She had never expected him to say something so painful, something that would cut so deeply. "Go to hell!" she screamed through her tears. Being reminded that she was the product of an affair struck a blow to her pride.

Lily and Alexander stood nearby, watching the scene unfold. They never expected Peter to speak so harshly, even if it was the truth. His words hit Kate hard, making her realize the full weight of what he was saying.

"May we never meet again in another life," Peter said before turning and leaving the torture room. He didn't bother to look back at Lily.

Lily watched him go, then turned her gaze to Kate, who was still weeping.

"I think you should go home and rest. I'll handle everything from here. You'll hear of her death soon," Alexander suggested.

"I don't want to go home. I need to stay until I know for sure that she's dead," Lily replied.

Alexander sighed. "If her death is going to weigh on you, we can go through legal channels instead of doing this illegally."

"We tried the legal way before, but she escaped," Lily reminded him.

"Yes, but this time I'll make sure she's sentenced to death. Would you prefer that?"

After thinking it over, Lily nodded. "That’s better. What about Albert and the others?"

"They'll die by my hand. I'm only letting Kate go through the legal process because I don't want you to carry the burden of killing your own blood. Let the justice system do its job."

Lily nodded and sighed in relief, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders.

Alexander later dealt with Albert and the others personally, ensuring their deaths. Anyone who dared to harm his loved ones would face his wrath. This would serve as a lesson to his enemies.

Three days later, after the court case, Kate was sentenced to death by hanging.

Bella received an anonymous letter in prison about her daughter’s sentence. She tried to take her own life, believing that everything was her fault, but Alexander's people in the prison stopped her. Alexander had many eyes and ears within the prison walls, even among Bella's cellmates, who were keeping close watch on her.

According to them, their master, Alexander, insisted that Bella remain alive to continually reflect on her misdeeds until the day she dies. Staying alive was her punishment.

Lily was glad she had listened to her father and hadn’t taken Kate’s life with her own hands. If she had, the guilt of her sister's blood on her hands would have haunted her.

Finally, everything was over, and they could move on with their lives. Viola returned to her cheerful self after the kidnapping. The chaos in Aurora City caused by the kidnapping eventually died down, and all articles—both old and new—about Viola Kane’s abduction and the Kane and Blake family conglomerates were permanently erased from the internet.

Alexander and Lily decided that Viola would be homeschooled from now on to prevent anything like this from ever happening again.
