Her Broken Mate 43

"BOW BEFORE ME!" The man roared.

There was silence for a moment, which made him even angrier. "Did you hear what I said !!! I said SUBMIT BEFORE ME! Your Alpha has been defeated, and by law that means the winner has his title! I'm your Alpha now!"

Hesitation appeared on the faces of all the pack members before they slowly knelt down, one by one, and submitted to him.

Emily and Ryan seemed to hesitate, as defeat showed on their faces.

They too showed their necks, hating it with every fibre of their being.

When it came to Sarah, they all knelt down and she refused. She knew where she stood, and she'd rather die than submit to this asshole. Her heart was still breaking and the tears were still streaming down her face.

She'd just lost the love of her life.

And she knew what to do before anything else.

Just like that, his eyes soon rested on her.

Seeing Sarah refusing to obey him, he walked towards her with angry steps. "You bitch, just because you're Luna doesn't mean you can't submit to me. I'm your Alpha now, so you're mine," he paused, looking up and down her body and licking his lips. "Or ... We could continue this in the bedroom. I can forgive your rudeness to me if you do as I say. What do you say, Sarah?"

Anger quickly rose in her that this sick man might think she will open her legs to him. Who did he think he was?

"No." she answered gruffly.

His face contorted in anger. Before she knew it, he raised his hand and knocked her to the ground. It went so far that her lower lip split open. Her vision blurred as she recovered as best she could. She spat out some blood and looked up at him defiantly.

Looking down at her, he growled, "You'll do as I say! You're a woman. Your job is to open your fucking legs and be the slut that you're!"

Silence reigned in the pack for a moment as she made herself laugh. Despite everything that had happened, she could catch herself laughing.

What a pathetic male.

A sexist who deserved to die.

Finding her voice and the strength within her again, she growled, "Over my dead body. I, Sarah Jones, challenge you for the title of Alpha!"

The pack muttered something under their breath and their faces turned to shock and disbelief. Even the man seemed surprised by her declaration. Then he laughed, "You, challenge me? I don't think so. A simple woman can't be the alpha. You can't be serious."

She clenched her fists at his words and was about to retaliate when Ryan spoke softly, "Technically, Alpha. She can challenge you. After a victor defeats the previous alpha, he usually asks if anyone else dares to oppose his rule. This is clearly the case with Luna Sarah. She has the right to do so, and you must obey her. The fact that she's a woman has nothing to do with it, so I suggest you cease your remarks before there are any more challenges."

The man clicked his tongue and gave Ryan a quick look before turning to Sarah.

"As you wish."

Before she knew it, they'd taken their positions and the challenges continued.

The man grinned at her and said mockingly, "I'm just saying, if you lose, I'll deal with you. And if it's a dead body I'll do it."

She shuddered in disgust, what a pervert.

Ryan started the countdown, and when he got to one, she turned around without giving the man a second to return the favour. So much sadness, loneliness and anger rested inside her. Her heartache, her loss. Her missing half, all of it flowed into her attacks. They were relentless, without mercy. She attacked with every muscle in her body, not letting it rest.

Tears stung her eyes as Thunder cried to help her kill this man.

As the attacks on him continued, it made her think. Something wasn't right about this challenge. Seth wouldn't lose to just anyone.

As she examined the man while he tried to dodge her blows, a bottle clinked on his belt. Upon closer inspection, she could see that her greatest weakness tipped and swayed slightly as he moved.

He was cheating.

With silver.

'Kill him. Damn it, kill him! Tear off his penis and let him choke on it!' Thunder roared.

She quickly tripped over him. The man fell flat on his back and groaned. As quickly as she could, she reached over and tried to snatch the silver bottle from him.

Before she could take it, the man noticed her and grabbed it in front of her. He quickly crushed the bottle and splashed the silver all over her.

To calm her down, he slashed her stomach with his claws. The silver seeped into her wounds and made her wince.

Since he's also affected by the silver, he begins to weaken. However, since the silver was mainly splashed on her, it didn't matter.

When she saw this, the whole pack went wild. She could hear growling and snarling. Howls resounded through the air. The connection to the pack was going crazy in her head. As the voices flooded her brain, her head throbbed.

Pack members asked her if she was okay or if they were rooting for her. She could hear their fears. Their insecurities. And also their anger at this man.

Her body slowly went limp as she tried to muster the strength to scream that he'd used silver on her.

As she slowly closed her eyes to accept her fate, she tore them open as she heard the loudest scream of agony. The pack roared, all of them screaming.

Something held the man's leg before he could finish her off. A choked sob escaped her as she realized who the person was.

His hand was stuck in the man's leg as he ripped out a chunk of flesh and bone. The man lost his footing as his leg was now gone. He whimpered and rocked back and forth.

He stood upright and may have been unrecognizable through the blood, but she knew it was him no matter what he looked like right now. It was none other than her mate...

Seth.

"The challenge... is... not over yet! I'm not dead, and I haven't given up! Get the fuck out of here... my girl!" he hissed, power radiating from him.

He was alive and fighting for his title.

And he wasn't just fighting for himself, he was fighting for her.

For her.

Another tear flowed from her eye as she whimpered for him.

'He's... Alive...' Thunder cried in a tired tone.

Sarah nodded weakly to her words and opened her tired eyes as best she could. It was difficult though, the silver was doing its job and of course it didn't have the same effect on her as before, having survived this ordeal once before.

Seeing the man wither in pain, Seth looked around and scanned his surroundings.

When his beautiful eyes fell on Sarah, they grew wide with fear and worry. As best he could, he limped over to where she lay.

It amazed her that her mate had enough stamina to endure the pain and come to her when she needed him.

She smiled as he looked at her and walked over to where she was bleeding on her stomach. His hands grazed the wound, and anger at what the man had done spilled over in waves.

"Are you proud of me yet?" she asked wearily, coughing.

Seth looked at her with a smile, "What're you saying, Sarah? I've been proud of y'all this time. Everything you've done for me never ceases to amaze me," he whispered, trying to stop the bleeding.

She choked on her tears, "I'm so glad you're alive..."

He chuckled, "So am I. Can you imagine if I left my perfect girl in the hands of someone like that? No doubt you can take care of yourself, but I want to be able to witness all your perfect moments."

'Damn, he's good. I ... am so going to jump on him as soon as we heal.' Thunder barked, opening her legs and closing them again.

'Amen to that, sister.'

Suddenly, a loud clap echoed across the field.

Seth, who'd stopped her bleeding, helped her up, his eyes emotionless as they landed on the man they were to defeat.

She leaned on him for support, and he leaned on her.

"While you two are reuniting, I'm fucking missing a fucking leg. Stop acting like complete idiots and get it over with! Leave the cheesy shit out of a fight!" he sputtered angrily, spitting all over the place.

Seth glared at Sarah.

They knew what they'd to do.

They probably looked like wrecks, walking in step, missing each other's clothes, stained with blood all over, broken limbs, limping, and more...

That didn't change the fact that they were a team in this.

And they punish those who dare to think they can get away with an unfair challenge.

As they looked down on him, they spoke,
"You're hereby charged with cheating in a challenge by using silver as your last defense. Your punishment will be death, for we don't want you to join another renegade pack and cause them to try to attack the Eternal Moon pack later."

The man hung his head in shame as the female guards dragged the man away.
Before they could do so, Sarah stopped the female guards.

The man looked up at her in disgust, "What do you want, you little fucking whore?"

And she kicked him in the testicles.

His scream died away as he cried out in pain.

"MY DICK! SHE KICKED MY FUCKING DICK!!"

She laughed, "Serves you right, you sexist bitch. You didn't think I was going to say anything, did you? Funny."

And finally he was pulled away and forgotten, whimpering as he clutched his precious jewels.

Without losing a moment, the cries of happiness echoed throughout the pack.

Ryan didn't hesitate to stand up and shout, "The winner, Luna Sarah and Alpha Seth!"

Emily jumped into Ryan's arms and jumped for joy.

Finally... the challenge was accomplished...

But the feeling in Sarah's back wouldn't go away, as she felt like they were being watched at every turn.
_ _ _

"Wow... you guys look terrible." Ryan commented, frowning.

Not a second later, a hand from Emily dropped behind his head. "Pumpkin, don't say that. I'm pretty sure Sarah and Seth know they look like shit right now."

Ryan's shoulders slumped and he feigned a whimper. "Ah, I'm hurt, dear. How could you hit your mate like that when he's just stating facts? Is this how play fights go? If so, I'm not into that kind of kinky shit..." he paused when he saw how deadly her stare was.

"Guess who's not getting a kitten tonight, bitch!" roared Emily.

And just like that, Ryan ended up yelling, "Nooo! Not the kitten!!!"

Sarah had enough of their so-called argument and growled, "As much as I love you two, get out of here if you're going to argue. As you can see, your two best friends are side by side in hospital beds recovering from the silver that almost killed them!"

That silenced them.

"I'm sorry, Sarah. Emily's been very hormonal lately with the baby growing inside her." Ryan explained, crossing his arms.

"What're you saying? Are you sick of me already?" Emily frowned.

"No, I'm not. I'm just saying..."

"FOR FUCK SAKES, I'M TRYING TO SLEEP!" Seth roared, his eyes pitch black.

Sarah could feel her wolves whimpering because Seth's words exuded so much authority. It didn't seem to bother his wolf, because it didn't affect her.

In fact, it turned Thunder on as much as it turned Sarah on.

'Damn you, you horny she-wolf.'

'What are you saying. I'm you too, remember? I mean, look at that beautiful ass. You can see it behind his hospital gown.' Thunder purred.

Sarah didn't dare look, there were children in the hospital.

She cleared her throat, calmed the situation and quickly changed the subject.

"Seth, we're not going to sleep anytime soon, because the reason Emily and Ryan came here in the first place is to tell us what they found with the scouts they sent out after the challenges."

He groaned and ran his hand through his hair as he lay down next to her on the hospital bed.

"And the funerals?" asked Seth, referring to the pack members who'd challenged him.

"All done." replied Emily.

"Great ... Great ..." Seth sighed and paused before continuing. "Let's hear about the reports. It's not like I'm suffering from the side effects of silver right now besides the love of my life."

Sarah suppressed a giggle and cleared her throat once more before signalling the Beta family to begin.

Emily and Ryan glanced at each other before beginning their report.

"When you asked us to investigate the eerie feeling behind your backs that someone was watching the challenges...
we believe it was Martha." Ryan voiced in a low voice.

Her eyes grew wide, "Martha? How did she get past the patrol?" asked Sarah forcefully.

"That's just it. We know she's a vampire. At least a hybrid mix. That's why she's so good at hiding her scent." explained Emily, whose eyes were frustrated at the lack of information they could find.

"Right... I almost forgot she was a hybrid." Sarah sighed.

The last time she'd met her, when she'd killed Ludovic and Beatrice... and Kate, too, Sarah would never forget the blood bags Martha and her villains had taken. Nor how long and dangerous her fangs were. Or how they dug into Ludovic's neck and sucked the life out of him.

Just thinking about it made her sad.

Sarah shook her head, she needed more information. "But what was she doing here? What's her goal?" she asked wearily.

"She was spying on us, Sarah. To see how far we've come, and I'm sure she was gathering the information she needed. She may have even been spying on us when Seth was training with the warriors." Ryan chirped, adding some more information.

"Damn ... there's no end to this, is there?
Why can't we've peace for five minutes?
I feel like I'm in a drama where there's one problem after another before everything settles down and there's a good or bad ending!" grumbled Seth.

"Exactly ... what's life?" asked Sarah.

"Not helpful, Alpha, Luna. I understand you're both stressed, but we really need a plan. The scouts saw something they shouldn't have, and there's a camp not far beyond our borders. It's pretty far away, but they estimate they'll reach us in about three weeks," Ryan explained.

"Three weeks?!" exclaimed Sarah.

Seth quickly chimed in, "I'm sure we'll be prepared and ready before three weeks, right Emily?"

"Yes, Alpha. The troops have been training for several weeks and have years of experience. With a little more time, maybe a week by my calculations, we'll be more than ready." said Emily, stepping in.

Seth and Sarah looked at each other and nodded with some sort of communication their way.

"Alright, get all the warriors ready that we've. Both werewolves and male wolves. We've a battle to finish." Sarah sounded, and Seth's determined nod supported her words. "The only thing I'm not so sure about is why she's doing all this. Is it really just about revenge?" she said aloud, unsure of everything.

Silence filled the room.

They were confused and didn't understand Martha.

Martha's words lingered on Sarah.

What did she mean?

Seth and Sarah have been busy almost continuously since they woke up. Sarah hasn't yet had a chance to talk to Jupiter about it. There was one time when he and she were alone, but that was bad timing. His ex-mate had just had sex with another man.

Everything was a mystery.

Sarah sighed and knew she'd to talk to him afterwards.

She closed her eyes and lost herself in her thoughts.

It's almost time.

To a meeting between the Alpha and
Luna's past.

They're after you, Martha.
