Her Alpha Mate 48

Freya:

After the moon goddess disappeared with her companion, I found out where I was after scouting a bit. I realized that if I ran for about ten minutes, I would reach the borders of the pack.

My heart was beating up to my neck as I changed into my wolf form and ran to the western border.

I could not wait to see Zack again.

And I already knew what I was going to say to him, too.

When I reached the border, there were a couple of wolves standing guard, so I changed back and headed towards them. It took them a few seconds to realize I was there, and I had to try hard not to laugh at their faces when they recognized me.

"L-Luna?"

I smiled and hugged the warriors, "It's good to see you again."

They opened and closed their mouths as if they could not get any words out.

The smile on my face grew a little wider.

"Luna."

I turned at the voice and felt my smile falter slightly, "Hi Broke."

She lowered her head, "Should I tell Alpha Zack. Should I let Alpha Zack know you are here?"

I shook my head, "No thanks. I'd like to surprise him. Where is he?"

"Uh," she said awkwardly, looking at the other warriors for help.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw their faces, and I pursed my lips in concern,
"Broke, where is he?"

"Luna, the griffins are here. They are trying to negotiate some kind of deal."

My face hardened, "Take me there."

We were going to end this once and for all. I had enough of this shit. All I wanted was a normal life with my mate, was that too much to ask?

I guess the blessing took away the normal part, but I did not want to spend the rest of my life fighting creatures with Zack. Not to mention the pack deserved a normal life too. They should not have to be on guard for the rest of their lives because of me.

As Broke led me to the place, I slowed my pace and stared at the bag Diana had given me.

"When the time is right, open this bag. You'll know what to do." Diana had said.

I gently pulled the drawstring and peered inside. When I had a good look, I closed it slowly and smiled heavily to myself.

I thanked the moon goddess. I now knew what to do.

"Over here, Luna," Broke whispered in front of me. I stepped past her and noticed that we were standing at the edge of the group, so they had not noticed us yet.

The sight that met my eyes actually amused me.

Douglas and Zack were facing each other, staring murderously at each other. The only funny thing about it was that Douglas was shorter than Zack, so he was practically standing on his tiptoes to get in Zack's face.

"She has to be here! Where else would she be?" roared Douglas and I rolled my eyes.

I stepped forward and leaned against a tree, "I do not know. Maybe over here?"

Their heads shot to me, and my eyes met Zack's immediately. It looked like he could hardly believe I was actually standing in front of him.

I heard the rest of the crowd groan, and felt the smile on my face widen.

Zack's face slowly turned to pure joy, and I felt the connection between the two of us explode through his ecstasy.

Along with the feeling of happiness I felt, all these emotions were overwhelmingly beautiful.

Tears filled my eyes as we continued to stare at each other before I finally said what I had wanted to say since I left, "I love you, you son of a bitch."

His smile was absolutely breathtaking as he turned to me and made a move to come closer.

But Douglas had to open his big mouth at that very moment, "You, Alpha. Your mate, on the other hand, will be coming with us."

Zack growled menacingly, making everyone except me, my father, Peter and Kennedy to flinch.

I shook my head and made a mind-link with Zack, 'I've a plan. Whatever you do, make sure you come with me.'

Zack made no move to respond, but his next words assured me that he had heard me, "If you take Freya, you have to take me too. Without her, I am as good as dead."

I decided to add my own dialogue to make it more believable, "Zack, I do not want you to come. I need you to take care of the pack."

Zack stared at me with a look of admiration that was probably the only thing he was not faking, "If I am broken, I am useless to them. I need you. So if you are going, I am going, too."

"Wait," Douglas said, interrupting my next statement, "let me talk to my advisors."

He turned to the group of men standing behind him and began whispering angrily to them. They nodded their heads a few times before Douglas turned back around, "We will take you both. We might as well take credit for being immortal and killing the strongest Alpha. People will fear us more when they find out."

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes and made a mind-link to Reece, "Reece, ask Juilet if there's a shortcut out of the mountains."

I waited a few seconds when I saw that Reece leaned over to ask Juilet the question. She whispered something back and he casually straightened up.

'She said there's a path that leads to the east. It leads to a fork in the road, and if you take the right path, it leads back that way.'

'Got it, thanks. Tell her we're going to blow up the mountains.'

'WH -?'

I turned off the mind link and saw that Douglas was attaching a pair of handcuffs to Zack's hand.

"Come here, blessed one. We only have one pair of handcuffs, so we're going to handcuff you together."

I wanted to cry with joy when I heard him say that. Handcuffing the two of us together was the biggest mistake they could've ever made.

The handcuffs wouldn't slow us down; on the contrary, they made us stronger. Now we could fertilize each other.

I walked over to Douglas and pretended to hesitate, when in fact I was happy to be next to Zack again. As soon as we were tied to each other, Zack leaned over, buried his nose in my hair, and took a deep breath. My she-wolf was literally jumping with excitement at being near her mate again.

Douglas made a disgusted face and turned to some of his warriors, "I want five of you to escort them back to the mountains. I'll follow later, once I've taken care of this pack."

"Wait a minute, I'll come along willingly if you let the pack go. Otherwise, I'll keep fighting back," I said, lifting my chin so he understood I was serious about fighting back.

He narrowed his eyes, "How do I know your pack won't come after us if we leave?"

"I'm going to order them to," Zack interjected, "They can't disobey my order."

Douglas grunted and looked to an older man standing to his right. The man nodded as if to say that he should leave the pack alone.

"Good," Douglas muttered, "command them."

Zack cleared his throat and turned us around, "Pack members, I order you to stay here and not follow. Dad, take care of the pack."

Kennedy seemed confused and horrified at what was going on, while my father seemed to be getting angrier by the second. I decided to make a mind connection with the two of them so they could get an idea of what was going on. As
I explained the plan to them, their faces changed back to normal and there was an amused glint in their eyes as they realized that the griffins were walking right into the trap.

"Come on, let's go. If you do anything funny, I'll whip you with this silver whip I made specially."

I could feel Zack's anger in the connection and stood on my tiptoes to kiss him on the cheek to calm him down. His face softened and he smiled down at me, "I'm glad you're back."

"Me too," I said as we walked away from the pack.

I'd to resist the urge to smile when I saw Peter smiling discreetly at us and Chance winked. Apparently, news traveled fast.

Two hours later, we finally drove into the mountains, where we saw small cottages along the way.

Douglas stopped and turned around: "Take them to the dungeon."

The five warriors around us nodded and directed us to the left where there were larger cottages. I guessed that the wealthier members of the Griffins lived in these houses.

We stopped in front of a tall building, and a pack warrior stepped forward to unlock the door.

"Wait," a voice interrupted us, "let's negotiate with them."

Behind us stood a man and a woman carrying large backpacks. But unlike the other griffins, there was something about them that appealed to me. My gut told me we could trust them.

"Douglas said to lock them up. Go suck a dick, Sam."

The man rolled his eyes, "No, that's your specialty."

"Those two must be Juilet's friends. Reece made a mind-link for me and said they'd help us."

"If that's the case, we need to get rid of these warriors. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

A sexy grin spread across Zack's face at my words. He winked at me before pulling me closer to him. With difficulty, I adjusted my wrist in the handcuff so that I could stand in front of Zack.

No one had noticed us moving yet because they were too busy arguing with Sam and the woman.

"One. Two," Zack whispered in my ear, gripping my waist tightly, "Three."

He lifted me up and swung me to the left so that I kicked two of the warriors in the head.

They fell to the ground unconscious from the force of the blow, attracting the attention of the other three.

One of them growled and tried to hit us, but Zack picked me up again so that I could kick the man in the chest and push him backward. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Sam and the woman knock down the other two warriors and smiled.

"Duck!" roared Zack. I moved my head just in time for the last warrior to miss me. Zack grabbed the man by the neck, lifted him up as if he weighed nothing, and hurled him against the wall of the building.

The man slid to the ground, blood pouring from his head.

"There you go," Sam said, nodding in agreement, "that was quick. "I'm Sam and this is Ruth. Juilet sent us to help you. Apparently you're blowing up the mountains?"

I nodded and picked up my bag, which one of the warriors had dropped when he passed out, "Can you get rid of the handcuffs somehow?"

Ruth stepped forward and let one of her claws extend. She stroked the handcuffs with it in three places and they fell to the floor in two pieces.

I quickly rummaged in the bag and excitedly pulled out the contents.

Dynamite and a box of matches.

"I didn't know they still made dynamite this size. This seems to be the stuff they used to use to blow up mines," Zack said, staring at the sticks in shock.

"I've my sources," I winked.

"Let's get started," Sam said, "Ruth and I'll change into our griffin form. You guys light the dynamite and jump on us. We'll fly away and watch it all explode."

"Are you guys going to be okay after this? I mean, this is your home," I asked anxiously.
They shook their heads.

"The mountains were never our home. We were forced to come here. After we drop you off, we'll go back to Ireland," Ruth said, smiling excitedly.

I returned the smile, "Then let's go."

In a few seconds we were ready to go. I got on Ruth's back, lit a match, and handed it to Zack. I lit another match and nodded to him.

The dynamite caught the flame, and as soon as we dropped it, Ruth and Sam flew into the air. We made it just in time to see the flames erupt and chunks of wood and stone flying around.

An hour later, Ruth and Sam landed on the ground and we got off of them.

"Thank you so much for helping us," I said, hugging them. Zack patted Sam on the back and gave Ruth a quick hug while also thanking him.

"Tell Juilet we'll go see her soon," Sam said, croaking happily, "We're finally going home."

They nodded to us one last time before flying off again.

I turned to Zack and saw that he was already staring at me. We stared at each other in silence.

"I can't believe it's over," I said, looking up at the sky. It was already almost dark.

He pulled me to his chest, "I know. We should send some trackers up there to make sure the rest of the griffins don't come back."

I nodded and closed my eyes as he kissed me on the forehead, "I forgot something."

My eyes flew open, "What do you mean..."

His lips landed on mine before the question could leave my mouth. I groaned softly and wrapped my arms around his neck as he hungrily devoured my mouth.
Obviously, I wasn't the only one who'd experienced hell in the last two days.
The kiss was desperate, frantic, and it almost seemed like he was trying to make sure I didn't leave him again. He made little growling sounds as he pressed me against a tree and cuffed my hands to the bark. I gasped as his lips traveled down my neck to my mark. He bit into it gently and sucked on it, making my knees weak with desire.

"Zack," I whimpered as he kissed my collarbone. He pulled back, breathing heavily.

"I love you, too," he growled.
