Her Alpha Mate 57
Freya:
I couldn't sleep at all last night. The excitement was a lot to just sit down and relax. My mom was thrilled and couldn't stop smiling at the thought of her future grandchild.
Finally, I blabbed it to my dad and Oliver as they kept giving us funny looks, probably because my mom and I were just beaming with joy.
FLASHBACK:
"Princess, aren't you hungry?" my father asked when he noticed my half-eaten plate.
"If you're not hungry, I'll take your fries," he said.
Oliver grinned and reached for my plate. I slapped his hand away and glared at him.
Unfortunately, he gave me a puppy dog look, so I'd to give him some fries.
There was silence at the table as my dad read through some papers and gave them to Oliver to read once he was done.
After watching them for five minutes, I couldn't hold it in anymore.
I cleared my throat awkwardly, "So... I'm pregnant."
Oliver stared at me as if I'd spoken in another language, and my father didn't even process the statement.
"That's nice, princess," he said between chews, not looking up once.
Oliver just blinked a few times, "I'm going to be an uncle?"
My father paused and looked up, "Who's going to be an uncle?"
"Me," Oliver said, mostly to himself, poking his chest, "I'm going to be an uncle."
The two just stared at each other, as if silently communicating. I bit my lip to stifle my laughter while my mother took a big bite to stifle her laughter.
My dad and Oliver slowly turned to me, their eyes wide.
"You - baby - pregnant?" My dad stuttered to himself in incomplete sentences.
I nodded my head and felt myself getting excited again. I'd a feeling I was going to be like this for a while.
My father jumped up from his chair, rushed over to me and lifted me up, "I can't believe it! A grandchild! Jennifer, did you hear that? We're going to be grandparents!"
I looked over at my mother and saw her shaking her head in amusement.
It would take a while for them to calm down. That was for sure.
END OF FLASHBACK:
After dinner, Oliver kept staring at my belly as if he expected it to grow at any moment. Finally, I'd to tell him that the baby was probably smaller than a peanut and that he'd've to wait a while to see anything. My dad, of course, was overjoyed and couldn't stop talking about what he was going to do with his grandchild.
If my family was so excited, I couldn't imagine how excited Zack would be, and that in turn made me excited.
I waited for Hunter to pick me up, but instead of taking me straight home, I wanted him to take a little detour into town so I could buy a few things. Evelyn had given me an idea of what to do, but I added my own little twist.
I'd to grin on the inside.
If everything went according to plan, Zack would get the shock of his life, and he wouldn't even hear it out of my mouth.
When Hunter pulled up, I said goodbye to him and got in the car.
"Hey Luna, how's it going?" he asked as I got in.
I smiled and tightened my seatbelt,
"Couldn't be better."
He drove off and as he approached the oncoming lane I looked at him with an innocent look on my face, "Hunter, can I ask you a favor?"
He looked a little nervous, "Why do I feel like I'm going to get in trouble for this?"

Zack:
A week without Freya was like a week without sunshine. Boring.
I couldn't wait for her to get home so I could kiss and hug her like always.
I tapped my fingers on the desk and looked at my watch. She should be here very soon, any minute now. I packed up my files and got up to put on my sweatshirt so I could go out and greet her.
Just as I was about to put it on, I felt a mind link from Reece intrude. 'Zack, why is someone dressed as a stork running around in a pack?'
I froze with my sweatshirt half on.
What the fuck?
'What do you mean there's a stork running around? Cut it out.'
'We can't, he always runs away when we get close. Besides, the children love him. He hands out candy and little gifts to the kids and their families.'
'It could be a villain, Reece. Just get rid of him.'
'He isn't. It smells like a pack member.'
I groaned and grabbed my keys. I was already in a bad mood because Freya was gone, and all I needed was a wolf to get dressed.
A wolf disguised as a bird is wreaking havoc in my pack.
When I got outside, Chance and Reece were standing at the foot of the stairs, staring at the crowd that had gathered outside. I joined them on the path and stared at the fluffy stork handing out small goodie bag-like items from a large white sack.
"Do we know who it's?" I growled, getting angrier by the second.
Chance shook his head, "Not yet, but whoever it's, he's not a threat. The candy is clean and there's nothing dangerous in the bags. I think it's just some kind of prank."
I growled again and watched the stork coming closer.
I wondered what would happen if I transformed and let my wolf loose on him.
My wolf was just as confused as I was and shook out his fur a few times as he was annoyed by the leaping stork.
"Zack!"
I turned to see Freya running toward me. A big smile formed on my face and my tense posture relaxed. "There you're!"
I wrapped my arms around her, buried my face in her neck, and kissed her on the mouth a few times. She ruffled my hair, pulled me back and looked at my face, "You look tired."
I grumbled softly, "I couldn't sleep without you."
She laughed softly and gave me a kiss on the lips, "I missed you too."
"Zack, the stork is coming for us," Reece said and straightened up from his position against the wall. Freya turned her head and raised her eyebrows at the sight, "What's going on?"
I rolled my eyes, "Someone decided to dress up as a stork and give people presents. I guess instead of the Easter Bunny, we get the stork."
She smiled slightly, and we watched as the stork hopped toward us.
He stopped in front of Chance and handed him a bag of presents.
"Um, thanks....whoever you're," Chance mumbled, reluctantly accepting the small decorated bag.
The stork did the same to Reece, who snatched it away from him and growled.
I expected him to give me something too, but he ran past me and up the patio steps. I ran up the stairs thinking he would try to get into the house, but he just dropped the white bag on the doormat and jumped over the patio railing before running away.
I stared at the stork's back in disbelief and gave Chance and Reece a "what the heck is going on here" look.
Slowly, I picked up the bag and raised an eyebrow. There was still something inside it.
"Zack, there could be a bomb or something in there. Don't open it," Reece said, staring at the bag.
Chance rolled his eyes, "Why would anyone bother to give everyone presents and then blow up Zack? Unless Zack did something to him, then it doesn't make sense."
I reached in with my hand and felt something soft and furry tickle my fingertips. I pulled the item up and dropped the bag as I held the furry thing in both hands.
A teddy bear.
One of those Build-A-Bear bears that kids like so much. He'd brown fur and was wearing a white T-shirt with a heart that said 'Push Push Paw'.
I looked at his paw and found a little button. With great hesitation, I pushed the button, almost expecting the bear to explode or something like that.
But instead, the bear made a laughing sound and a sweet little voice said, "You're going to be a daddy!"
Freya:
It was so hard to keep a clear head as I watched Hunter run around giving gifts to the kids and their families. Instead of just surprising Zack, I wanted to give the rest of the pack a treat too. And thankfully, they loved it.
But when Zack stared at the bear with a confused look on his face, it was almost impossible not to laugh at it.
Chance walked up the stairs, took the bear from Zack's hands, and pressed the little button again. The voice spoke again, and the two just looked at each other.
"Did the bear mean "Kinky Daddy" or "Daddy" in the sense of "father of..."?"
Chance broke off his question as the realization hit the three. Their faces changed from confused to stunned in seconds.
I tried to pretend I didn't know anything, but that became difficult as the three turned to stare at me.
I pursed my lips into a mouth and watched Zack's reaction with great amusement. He stumbled awkwardly down the stairs and grabbed my cheek, eyes wide and mouth open.
"I-is it true? You're...you're pregnant?" he whispered, his eyes searching mine.
I swallowed hard and nodded.
For some strange reason, I felt the urge to cry again as a shocked but breathtaking grin formed on his face.
"We're getting a puppy?" he asked excitedly, even though he already knew the answer.
I nodded again and felt a few tears of joy escape my eyes. He was breathing heavily, but his grin grew even wider, if that was even possible, and he gave me a big hug.
"Baby, do you know what this means? We're going to be parents! I'm going to be a father!" he exclaimed, swinging me around and hugging me tightly.
As he set me down, he leaned his forehead against mine.
"Holy shit," he said, his eyes misting over with his own tears, "I can't believe it."
I gave a short laugh and pulled him down into a kiss, which he returned passionately. As we gasped, he gave me a soft smile and kissed me on the forehead, "I love you. Like this. Damn. Very."
I buried my face in his chest, "I love you too."
