Her Alpha Mate 36
Zack:
The moment Chance had said that everyone knew Freya was marked, I knew my mother was going to go crazy with excitement.
But that... was more than I expected from her.
Of course, Chance found the whole situation amusing and even gave his opinion on my mother's plans.
"What do you think, Chance? Red roses or pink roses?" my mother asked, holding both flowers in front of him as he tapped his chin thoughtfully.
"Red," he nodded, "they'd go better with the white decorations."
My mother looked back and forth between the two roses, and I took advantage of the moment of silence to get my answers, "Mom, what's that?"
She looked up briefly and frowned, "What's wrong, honey? This is for the Luna ceremony."
"Yes, but I was under the impression that we wouldn't have it for a few days. There's so much to plan."
She dismissed my words with a wave of her hand, "That's nonsense, Zack. You should know by now that I've been waiting for this moment for years. I've it all planned out and ready to go."
I opened my mouth to protest, but she walked away to yell at some poor wolves who'd stopped working.
"You'd think this was my damn wedding or something," I muttered, giving Chance a scowl as he started laughing. He shrugged and patted me on the back, "You know what they say. The Luna ceremony is like half a wedding for an Alpha."
I groaned softly and watched as my mother run around the room excitedly, "I just hope Freya is okay with my mom doing the planning."

I'd hoped to go home to a nice quiet house where I could spend some time with Freya before the ceremony, but of course the moon goddess was against me today. Instead of shock, I felt an overwhelming need to vomit and gouge my eyeballs out at the outrageous activity taking place on my living room couch.
Peter and Pearl.
My poor couch.
I slammed my keys down on the table, and the sharp clank of metal snapped them both out of their make-out session. Pearl blushed and adjusted her shirt, while Peter fixed his hair and grinned at me.
My gaze sharpened, but he didn't even flinch. Pearl cleared her throat and mumbled incoherently before storming up the stairs like her pants were on fire. Peter stood up and sauntered over to me, "Nice mark you got there. It seems like Freya really sunk her teeth into it."
I rolled my eyes, "I get it. You're my sister's mate and all, but don't do it where I can see it. Especially not on my couch."
"Hey, at least I didn't tag my mate in the kitchen for the whole world to see."
I growled softly, but the smug grin didn't disappear from his face.
"Zack?"
I turned to my beautiful mate, who was staring at me, somewhat worried and confused.
Her dark brown eyes looked back and forth between the two of us, as if she expected us to break out into a fight at any moment.
"Is everything all right?" she asked softly. I wrapped an arm around her waist, pulled her to my chest, and pressed my lips to her fragrant hair.
"It's all right. Peter was just fooling around." I muttered, trying to ignore the noises my wolf was making in my head. He shook his fur excitedly and purred at the smell and sound of his mate. The marking made him even more affectionate than before.
"Peter is still here," he coughed, "Please don't give too much away, Gigi is still running around the house."
"Speaking of Gigi," I asked, "did anyone talk to Reece and Juilet after the meeting? I hope he's calmed down."
"I did talk to Juilet. She said he's still not happy about her plan, but he trusts her to take care of herself," Freya said, staring at the clock in confusion.
"I doubt any of us would be thrilled if our mates went into the mountains voluntarily and without any protection," Peter muttered, running a hand through his hair.
I'd to agree with him. If Freya had volunteered, I'd have done something stupid like tying her to her bed or something.
'That would have been interesting. Imagine all the things -'
I interrupted Dickson, 'Do you ever think about anything other than mating?'
'I think about food... and how beautiful my mate is.'
'Good to -'
'And what it would be like to pull her tail.'
'You've already done that.'
'It's funny.'
"Zack?"
I tore my attention away from my wolf and blinked, "What?"
Freya raised an eyebrow, "I was just saying that your mom wanted me to go over so I could get ready for the ceremony."
"Oh, I'll take you then. I've to go check on the training."
Suddenly, the sound of someone stomping down the stairs echoed through the hallway, and Pearl appeared next to Freya, staring at Peter. She snorted and looked dismissive, which made him giggle.
"You can't be mad at me because we got caught. It takes two to tango, love," he explained.
She narrowed her eyes, "It's all your fault.
You keep trying to seduce me."
"Mhmm, that's exactly what happened."
"I hate you."
"What was that, dear? Do you want to kiss me again? I'd love that!"
He pulled her into his arms before she could protest, and dramatically submerged her.
The moment their lips touched, I made a disgusted noise and dragged Freya toward the door.
"I don't want to see that," I muttered, opening the door for her. She laughed and waited for me to lock the door before we walked towards my parents' house.
House.
As we walked, I wondered if Freya was mad that my mom had planned the whole ceremony for her.
If so, she didn't show it. I felt bad because she couldn't even say what she wanted. Everything seemed so rushed.
"I hope you don't mind that my mother did everything for you. I know it means a lot to some she-wolves."
She frowned, "Didn't Georgina tell you that she discussed everything with me?"
"Did she?"
"Yes, that's why Pearl was at your house. She said if I wanted to change anything, I could. But the plans she'd were fantastic, I couldn't have asked for a nicer ceremony."
I cleared my throat gruffly, "Ours."
"What?"
"Our house."
"Oh ... okay," she returned awkwardly.
Oddly, I felt a wave of heat on the back of my neck, like I was blushing, which bothered me.
Alphas shouldn't blush. Ever.
Suddenly, a pair of hands grabbed my cheeks.
"Well, look at you. If you didn't have your stubble, I'd guess you were blushing."
I rolled my eyes and kissed her lips, "Be quiet. Someone might hear you."
We're on a nearly empty road, who'd hear us?"
"Freya Rose Davis!"
We turned our heads and my eyes grew wide at the man standing in front of me.
"Alpha Nathan?"
