Her Broken Mate 19
"Let me get this straight," Sarah paused, her eyebrows furrowing, "Martha was your girlfriend, then you met Stella, your mate. You left her for Stella, and because she was so power hungry, she tried to assassinate Stella, after which she was exiled. After many years, she gathered enough villains and attacked the pack house. She kidnapped Seth and tortured him just to get revenge on you, which resulted in you falling into a coma."
Jupiter nodded curtly, a frown appearing on his face. Out of nowhere, Stella began to cry. This shocked them, of course, they were confused about her condition.
Stella covered her mouth, her words muffled, "And I blamed Seth for everything, even though it was Martha's fault. Forgive me, Seth, I have been a terrible mother."
Seth did nothing, he just got up and left the room. Sarah hurriedly followed him, Stella's shouts of apology following them.
Sarah turned around one last time and said goodbye to Jupiter and, as much as she did not want to, to Stella.
Jupiter stopped her by grabbing her arm, "You have to be careful, Sarah. If Martha comes here and gives you a message, it means that we will soon be in great danger. Take care of yourself and get the pack ready."
She nodded at his warning before he let her go.
Looking for Seth, she followed his scent, which led her to a corner where no one was.
Her companion must have sensed her presence because he slowly raised his head. His eyeswere red-rimmed, full of emotion and so much pain.
She knelt down to his level to reach for him. Instead, he wrapped his arms around her hips and dropped his head onto her lap. She leaned forward and instinctively shielded her body over his to protect him from the world.
Nine years of guilt and abuse, his mother apologizing, and the conviction that his father blamed him when he did not - it was too much to handle.
They held each other as long as they could. Until she broke the silence with the words, "It's going to be okay."
And then he broke down.
A burst of broken sobs as her mate let out the saddest cries she had ever heard. He shook and shook, clinging to her for dear life. Again and again he collapsed in her arms.
Her heart bled for Seth as she silently promised herself that she would do everything in her power to protect him.
He needed to know that he was more than worthy and that nothing was his fault.
From now on, she would make sure he lived the life he wanted and how he envisioned it. Without pain from the people who had hurt him.
And she would make sure of that.
Emily and Ryan had to help her put Seth to bed, because he was much too heavy for her. He had fallen asleep in her lap.
She dismissed them and thanked them.
They bowed and left their Luna and Alpha alone.
She gave Seth a kiss on the cheek and went to the door to get something to drink.
But Seth tugged on her hand and showed her his notepad that said, 'Do not leave.'
Who could resist that? His eyes were like puppy eyes, it was cute.
She sighed, tired from the day, "Alright, fine."
She scrambled onto the bed, careful not to accidentally step on him.
Once she found a comfortable position, she snuggled into his shirt and enjoyed his minty smell.
Thunder purred, content. His scent enveloped her and sent a shiver down her spine.
Seth put his arm under her head and pulled the blanket up to her shoulders before hesitantly placing a kiss on her forehead.
She blushed, surprised that he would do such a thing.
But she was pleased. He had overcome his fear of being touched, and that was all that mattered.
With her head under his chin and in her companion's arms, she fell asleep.
It was the best sleep she had had in a long time, and she knew Seth thought so too. In the land of miracles, she had forgotten to get some water.
Oops.

She had heard stories about waking up in your mate's arms and him looking perfect in his sleep. Well, the rumors were wrong!
Seth had woken her up with his loud snoring and accidentally pushed her off the bed! How can you share a bed with your mates! They are twice your size! He did not even wake up when she landed on the floor with a thud!
Sarah groaned in annoyance and lay shivering on the cold floor.
After ten minutes on the floor, she sat up and made her way to the bathroom, but stopped to admire his sleeping face one last time. Sure, he's a terrible sleeper, but this was the first time she'd seen him so relaxed.
A smile tugged at her lips, it was adorable to see him in a pleasant state.
Eliciting a small yawn, she left the snoring Seth and got ready for the day.

She was washing the soap off her body when she felt a deep ache in her heart.
She stopped, her eyes wide. Thunder began to whimper loudly and curled up into a ball.
Without warning, the bathroom door opened and her curtains were torn aside. She shrieked and tried to cover her naked body. Doesn't anyone know how to knock anymore!
Her eyes met with ocean blue eyes: Seth.
She relaxed a little, knowing it was her mate.
He was sweating and seemed to be in a panic. She felt uncomfortable and asked, "What's wrong?"
Seth took out his notepad, wrote quickly on it and showed it to her. 'Someone in the pack has died.'
She gasped and covered her mouth. That explained the pain in her heart, it felt like a limb had been torn away and shredded, which is why Thunder began to whimper.
Pulling back from her thoughts, she finally realized the situation. She was just staring awkwardly at Seth, the way he was looking at her. His head was tilted as if he were confused. She was stark naked, and she didn't think he noticed, because when she said, "Seth... I'm naked. Can you please leave so I can change?" Seth lowered his head as his eyes slid over her body before blushing.
That made her even more embarrassed, so he turned around and tripped over her panties. He fell face down. Seth recovered quickly before limping out the door and closing it behind him.
Her heart raced, excited that her mate saw her naked, but also embarrassed.
She shook it off and focused on the news.
Someone died in their pack.
But who?

As she came down the stairs, the air was tainted with grief and anger. She sprinted outside, toward the scene of the crime. Her eyes fell on the victim's parents, who stood crying at her side. Seth, Ryan and Emily were in the process of comforting them, but that could only work for so long.
The mother was screaming, "My baby didn't deserve this, she was a sweet girl, why her?"
A group of pack members were surrounded by something. As she walked toward the group, she excused herself to squeeze through, and what she saw almost made her want to throw it all up inside.
It was the she-wolf she'd encountered at her first pack meal, the one she'd thrown up, and the one who wanted to make sure her alpha was in the right hands.
Her organs were gone, blood spread in full glory on the grass. Her mouth was wide open, while her eyes were rolled back, dry tears gathering in them.
Kate had been killed, and she knew exactly who'd done it.
