Sarah could hear that his heart was no longer beating loudly and his eyes were not as wide as before. But his face was downcast, almost as if he were ashamed of what had happened. She could see his shoulders slump, disappointment on his face.
Reluctantly, he reached into his pocket, pulled out his notepad, and wrote, 'Since I toppled my mother.'
Her heart clenched painfully, her eyes opened in grief. "Seth... I am sorry this happened to you. I promise you that I will be by your side every step of the way."
Seth frowned as if he did not believe her. He quickly wrote on his notepad. 'Are you sure? You are not going to leave like everyone else...are you?'
She was taken aback by what he wrote.
Did everyone who approached him leave him? Did they give him false hope?
Her heart pounded, pain spreading through her chest as she imagined the suffering he had gone through. She could not imagine what it was like to finally feel safe again, only to have people leave you alone. As if nothing had happened.
"I promise... I will never leave you. You are mine and I am yours. Honestly, I do not think I can ever part with you. Not at this time," she said, blushing.
Seth, who was staring intently at her, was now open-mouthed. She giggled and pushed his chin back up with her index finger to close his mouth. But since she was embarrassed and sparks flew at his touch, she quickly changed the subject.
"The good thing is that you did a great job with the breathing exercise with me. I am so proud of you."
His mood changed instantly and he blushed slightly on his cheeks.
He had never been complimented since he was fourteen years old.
She can not imagine what it's like to live as a child and one day have everything you want in the world, only to have it taken away in a single second.
Thunder whimpered, hating to know that such cruelty fell upon her companion.
Smiling, she got up and sat next to him on her bed. His figure stiffened because they were so close, but finally he stopped tensing and looked directly at her.
My God, he was so fucking hot.
'Jump on him. He's on our bed now.' Thunder suggested and let out a horny growl.
She could not help rolling her eyes at her wolf.
Why did she have to get a she-wolf who could not keep her legs closed? Then again, she could not blame her, because her mate was super sexy.
She took a deep breath and changed the subject as she remembered what had happened before.
She frowned and asked, "Is your head okay? Kate did not hurt you that bad, did she?"
Seth seems surprised by her question, but shakes his head, indicating that she did not do much damage. Sarah lets out a sigh of relief at his answer. She does not want him to get hurt any more than his mother did.
Curious, she asked, "What are you going to do about Kate?"
Before Seth could write down an answer, someone else answered.
"Please, punish me, Alpha." A voice interjected.
What is he supposed to say now?
'That whore better back off. The only one Seth can punish is us!' Thunder said, pacing back and forth angrily.
'My God, someone has to take the wheel.'
Kate leaned guiltily against the door, one of her hands around her neck to ease the pain. Serves her right, no one touches Sarah's husband without consequences.
Seth looked at Sarah and nodded. Slowly he reached out and squeezed Sarah's hand. This warmed her heart and made her smile.
She understood this to mean that he wanted her to determine Kate's punishment.
When Kate sees Seth's reaction, she turns to Sarah and waits for Sarah's response.
Honestly, part of Sarah wanted to banish her and never let her set foot on pack land again. But that was just a warning, because Sarah has not had a ceremony to become a Luna yet. Besides, others might see it as 'She is just jealous of Kate'. It does not matter what she has done because others will have an opinion about it when they are out. They might be against her becoming Luna, because someone who is 'jealous' is not fit to rule alongside their alpha.
She relented and looked at Kate, but her gaze softened. "We will excuse you, Kate. Even though we do not get along well, I can not imagine how you feel right now. Just do not let it happen again, because next time..." she paused and looked at her. "I will not cut you any slack."
Tears stood in the corners of Kate's eyes and she cried gratefully, remorsefully. "Yes... thank you, Alpha, Luna. As long as I live, I will never cross the line again."
She just had to get spanked to shut up, didn't she? She's all bark and no bite.
'Very interesting... Humans are so funny.' Thunder said, frowning.
Kate bowed once more to Seth and Sarah before walking away with her head down. After she left, Sarah closed the door so Seth and her could have some privacy.
They lapsed into a peaceful silence as they once again got to know each other better.
He made goofy faces and she had to laugh.
Finally, after a few hours of fun and getting to know each other, it was almost 11:00 p.m. when Seth wrote on his notepad, 'Do you want to sleep with me?'
