Her Broken Mate 49
Waking up, Sarah woke up next to the love of her life. She yawned and stretched. A soft snore caught her attention as she realized that Seth and she'd fallen asleep next to each other last night.
It had been a very stressful couple of weeks. Day in and day out, they trained their warriors and themselves. The pack was more than ready as they spent many hours preparing for war.
The plans were set, and during the course of today, Seth and they'd finalize all the plans to get everything started.
They didn't know when the war with Martha would take place. They only knew that they'd to be prepared for the unexpected.
The morning was pleasant until she felt something hard bump against her hip.
Frowning, she pulled the blanket up a bit to see what it was.
Soon her face was red and her heart was racing.
Seth, who seemed to be having a very good dream, just moaned and wrapped his arms tighter around her.
'Oh dear...' Thunder said purring.
'Shut up. Shut up.'
'So rude. He's just having his morning wood. It could be about us, don't you think?' Thunder said, grinning suggestively.
'Can the moon goddess separate me from you for just one day?'
'Looks like someone got up on the wrong side of the bed.'
She rolled her eyes at her wolf's comments and slipped quietly out of bed as Seth moaned softly again. His grip on her loosened, making it easier for her to go to the bathroom.
She brushed her teeth as she thought about everything. It was really overwhelming...
As she spit out the toothpaste and gargled the water, she finished the easiest task of the day. Even though it was the easiest, her heart felt heavy for what was to come.
This caused her to sigh heavily.
Hearing her heavy breathing, Seth began to wake up. He blinked once, maybe twice, before turning his eyes to her.
"What's wrong, beautiful?" he murmured in a raspy voice.
Damn...
She cleared her throat, wishing all her sinful thoughts away. "Nothing much, just tired of everything."
Seth nodded slightly. "Then let me help you ease that," he said, patting the bed.
She smiled and joined him in the bed.
She snuggled up to Seth and let him deliver the big spoon.
Another sigh escaped her, but a satisfied one. It went on like that for a few minutes. Then Seth gave her a little kiss on the back of her neck, causing her to moan a little.
Her mate fell silent, and when she turned to him, his eyes were pitch black.
She could smell his arousal as he growled softly.
"Shit... Sarah. You're making it really hard for me to control myself," he whispered softly, hiding a small grin.
She let out a small giggle. As she started to feel playful, she decided to do something she'd never done before.
Smirking, she wiggled her butt against his abdomen. Her mate groaned and squeezed her tighter. Realizing her mistake a little too late, she felt Seth rubbing against her as he held her hips with his hands.
"S-seth wait..." she gasped as pleasure coursed through her body.
The sparks were driving him crazy, almost to the extreme.
Immediately after her remark, he fell silent.
He cursed. "Shit... I'm sorry." And with that, he let go of her hips and began to hug her again.
Did he think she was crazy?
"Baby. I'm not mad," she said, turning her head to look at him. She could see his sadness and guilt at not being in control.
"I'd never do anything without your permission. It's just... you were wiggling and..." he paused. "That's not an excuse. I'm sorry."
"I thank you for your apology. I've no problem with a little intimacy like that. I'm even willing to do it now, since I've prepared my heart for it. But I want to wait until the war is over or all this madness is over. Right now it's too stressful and I want to enjoy you to the fullest."
Seth's face turned red at her comment, but he nodded. She felt his bulge pressing against her ass again, but he didn't move or say anything. Her mate just nodded and kissed her on the cheek.
Maybe he'll say something later.
He looks shy.
A few moments later, Seth finally spoke;
"Do you think I did the right thing?" he whispered, with sadness in his voice.
"What do you mean?"
"... My mother is basically under surveillance. My father, in prison. He's guaranteed to be tortured or die at the hands of Martha. I basically have no family."
"I'm your family. And soon we could've our own family," she said, blushing.
Seth stared at her with a raised eyebrow and a wide smile. "Sounds like a dream to me. I'm glad you're with me. And you know ... Your words earlier made me very happy. I'm ready when you're ready.
Thank you for being you, Sarah."
Her mate leaned in to kiss her when she pressed her finger to his lips. He raised an eyebrow in confusion and she giggled.
"Morning breath.... Brush your teeth first, then... we can do something."
Like a child, Seth jumped up from the bed and brushed his teeth. He quickly freshened up and a few minutes later she felt his lips on hers.
Almost instantly, she felt Seth brush his tongue over her mouth, and she gasped. When he saw this, he paused.
"I learned that from Alfred," he said excitedly, before informing her that he'd get them breakfast.
As she sat down on the bed, confusion was written all over her face and her only thought was...
What did he mean by that?
_ _ _
"Alfred!" she called out, demanding his attention.
"Yes, Sarah? How can I help you?" he asked with a smile on his face.
"What else did you teach Seth?" she asked, crossing her arms with an accusing look.
A laugh left Alfred, his eyes looking at her knowingly. "Do you mean the tongue thing? He was watching a video on how to tease women."
She screwed up her face, but dismissed it with a shrug. As long as Seth gave his consent, that was fine.
Moments later, she remembered what else she'd come to Alfred for.
"How are you?" she asked gently.
Alfred froze, but smiled compassionately. "Honestly... I think I'm holding up pretty well. I'm just surprised that my best friend is as awful as his mate. I still can't believe Jupiter would do something like that."
After Jupiter was sentenced, he was locked up with many guards. The news spread like wildfire, but Alfred took it hard. They'd been best friends for a long time and it was hard for him.
At first Alfred refused to believe it and demanded that Jupiter tell the truth.
He should stop making jokes. Jupiter and he'd their days of pranks and laughter, so Alfred thought it was a bad joke. But when Jupiter didn't assure him that the accusations were false, it hurt Alfred deeply.
Since then, he'd disappeared for about a week.
Fortunately, his mate took his place as pack doctor, even though she was his assistant. It was only temporary, but necessary.
"I'm doing fine, Sarah. Thank you for checking on me. I think the most painful thing in life is losing friends. At the end of the day, it's not the partner that stays with you, it's the friends. Sure, partners are a wonderful thing... but when things don't work out, friends are there for you at the end of the day. That hurts...you know?" said Alfred in a strained voice.
She nodded in understanding. "No, I understand. I don't know what I'd do without Emily. I'd be lost, honestly."
Speaking of which. she hasn't seen her lately. The last time she saw her was during the challenge. Seth was challenged for the Alpha's title and they almost died.
She was supposed to see her after she talked to Alfred.
Realizing she was digressing, Alfred caught her attention by touching her forehead.
"The main thing is that you're grateful for everything, Sarah. Seth and the pack are lucky to have you. We're blessed." said Alfred, smiling.
Her heart flushed with warmth at his compliment; it meant a lot to her.
She rubbed her forehead playfully, pretending his flick hurt, and asked him what he thought about the coming war.
"I'm not looking forward to the war. It means I've got a lot more work to do, but if it takes my mind off it, why not?"
His answer didn't surprise her, but she understood.
The conversation soon ended with her saying that she'd check on him again later. Soon she went to Emily's room and knocked cautiously.
"Come in." A soft voice answered.
Sarah turned the knob and entered her room to see her knitting baby socks. Sarah's expression quickly changed when she saw Ryan next to her trying to do the same.
Was he really knitting next to Emily?
"I really can't believe I'm going to be an aunt soon." said Sarah, pacing over to the two of them before sitting down on the floor.
Emily laughed, "Yeah, in about eight months."
"Not soon enough." Ryan grumbled, "Knitting is so complicated! I'd rather kill some vampires or something! Maybe work out. My muscles feel like they've disappeared," he continued to whine.
"Shut up, I'm carrying your puppy. Haven't you ever heard the saying, 'Happy wife,
Happy life?' Unless you want to be unliving, I suggest you keep practicing sewing and knitting for our puppy."
Ryan bristled, sighed and nodded.
"Well ... if my wife says so."
Sarah couldn't help but burst out laughing.
The two looked at her worriedly, worried about her.
"Are you alright, girl?" asked Emily.
She nodded after she stopped laughing. "It's just fine. It's been chaotic lately. You know... Martha and the war. And Jupiter, too. It's been hard for all of us."
They smiled at her sympathetically, "We understand. You know we're here for you if you need us, right?"
"Yes, I know. Thank you."
She bit her lip, realizing she wanted to ask Emily something else.
"Hey, Emily? I've been meaning to ask ... But are you going to war with us?"
She was silent, but then she said, "I thought about it, but war is really dangerous. As much as I want to go and help, I'm not only putting myself in danger, but also my puppy. So no... I'm not going anymore."
Ryan seemed to agree as well, as he showed a proud face.
Sarah smiled knowingly, "I thought so. Just curious."
They talked for a while and exchanged pleasantries.
However, Sarah seemed to lose track of time as they talked and ate something, because it was already 6 pm.
Shit, she had to meet with Seth at 6:15 to finalize the war plans.
As soon as she got up, the whole pack started shaking violently. Emily cried out as Ryan transformed and hid Emily under his wolf.
The shaking soon subsided, but there was only one thing on her mind.
They were under attack.
And the war has finally begun.
