Her Broken Mate 13
"We are losing Sarah! Where's the pack doctor!!!"
"I am right here, damn it. She's lost a lot of blood, give me 0+, we need to transfuse right away."
"Get the hell out of my way! This is my best friend!"
"Ma'am, we can not let that happen. The
Luna is in critical condition." said a nurse.
"Emily! We need to get out of the way."
"Ryan, I swear to God. I love you, but that's my best friend right there. She's dying, for God's sake! What am I supposed to do? Stand around and do nothing?!"
"You are not helping her by yelling. The doctors are doing what they can. Come on, we have to wait outside until they are done with Sarah."
A sniffle escaped who Sarah thought was Emily. She could hear Ryan comforting her. Sounds could be heard all around her and she heard hospital staff running around to help her.
"Alpha! What are you doing here?" the pack doctor said. "You want to donate your blood? I mean... yes. Your blood might speed up Sarah's recovery. You are an alpha, after all."
"Doctor, he's O+. It would be best for him to donate under these circumstances." said a nurse.
Sarah could hear the clock ticking: "Well, are you sure? She needs quite a bit of blood."
She heard a pen scribble and knew it had to be Seth.
Seth... her mate.
She tried to continue listening to their conversation, but her consciousness soon faded into nothingness.

Beep... Beep... Beep...
'Where am I?'
'You are in the hospital, you stupid human. Now wake up, you are scaring your buddy,'" Thunder said in a worried tone.
Her eyes shot open at the mention of her companion. 'Where? Where is he?' she tried to sit up and only groaned painfully. Her body was as stiff as a rock, preventing her from making any sudden movements.
It felt like she had gone through hell and back.
As she looked around at her surroundings, her eyes lingered on him. He was currently dozing on a chair next to her, gently holding her hand.
Sparks flew between them, making butterflies flutter in her stomach. It was a beautiful feeling, one that can never be replaced.
A smile played around her lips and she giggled at how cute he looked because he was drooling. As she moved to wipe it off, she let out another pained whimper. Her side felt like it was on fire, as did her shoulder and left leg.
Seth must have heard her little cries, because he automatically pulled up and looked for signs of danger. When he determined there was no danger, he looked over at her.
He grabbed his notepad, quickly wrote something on it and turned it over, 'Are you okay? Does it hurt? Do you need some water?'
She shook her head sheepishly, finding his concerned state admirable, "No, I am fine. I do not need anything."
Seth finally sat down in his seat, looking a little dejected. His figure looked haggard, almost as if he had been awake for a while. He had slight bags under his eyes, and his hair was fluffier than usual from running his hands through it several times. In his arm was a IV, connected to her bag that hung in the corner of her bed. An orange juice and some fruit were next to him.
He had donated blood for her.
"Thank you for saving me, Seth," she said, smiling.
He blushed, but nodded quickly. But his smile soon disappeared and his face became serious.
She furrowed her brows, "Is something wrong?"
He wrote on his notepad, 'Were you attacked by villains?'
She bit the inside of her cheek, wondering if she should tell him now or later. Eventually he would find out, and it's better for him to be prepared in case this Martha showed up.
Again she nodded.
Seth emitted a dangerous growl, his eyes black with anger.
She rolled her eyes, "Calm down, I have got this covered. However, there is something else I need to discuss with you before we get to the subject of rogues," she paused. "Can the Luna ceremony take place soon? I have not been able to connect anyone, and since I have been away for nine years, my connections to the pack are pretty weak," she said in a matter-of-fact tone.
He looked puzzled before becoming thoughtful. Seth pursed his lips before giving a thumbs up. She laughed at that, he's so stupid sometimes.
Then she noticed a smudge of dirt in his hair. Thinking back, it was probably from her rescue. When she reached out to remove it, he backed away.
She frowned in confusion before Thunder whined, 'Doesn't the mate like us touching him?'
'No, I do not think that's the case. Anyone who's been abused would react that way, some differently, but wincing is one of the most common signs. He was abused by Thunder, we have to adjust to his level. We can not just touch him casually,' Sarah reflected.
Thunder whimpered in response and cut the connection.
This was difficult for Thunder to understand, because normally mates mark and mate on the same day they meet. In this case, however, it was quite different. Things were moving more slowly, and Sarah was worried about whether she would need to be anaesthetized when she came into heat in two weeks.
When she turned her attention back to Seth, his eyes were misty.
At that moment, the door opened to reveal the pack doctor. He was a middle-aged man, but he smiled kindly at her. She returned his smile, knowing that he had come to check on her.
After a quick look at the wound, the doctor, who introduced himself as Finn, instructed her to make sure no stitches opened up on her side. Stella's wound was still there, but only faintly, as her werewolf skills had healed it quickly. Of course, the new wounds that came from the rogues were already healing well.
He also soon checked on Seth and found that he was doing well with the blood donation. He even gave Seth some more juice and gave him the medical advice not to exert himself too much. Since he had donated a lot of blood. He needed to take it easy.
Later that day, Seth checked out of the clinic.
She could go back to the pack house, along with one other thing. He had informed her that the Luna ceremony would be tonight.
'We are going to be a Luna!' barked Thunder, yelping happily in her head.
'Yes, yes, your majesty. We will indeed become Lunas of the pack.'
Sarah disconnected again and thought about tonight's possibilities.

When she returned to the pack house, Emily was there waiting for her.
"Thank the moon goddess, you are all right!" Emily exclaimed, jumping up to hug her tightly.
She returned the hug while wiping away her tears.
"Ryan had to calm me down. I swear, I was about to break everything. But... You are okay now. That's all that matters. I wish we knew who did this to you. They were villains, weren't they?" said Emily, holding her hands tightly.
She nodded, "I am fine now. I am still in a little pain, but the meds are kicking in. And yes, they were rogues. I do not know exactly who they are, but one of them introduced herself as Martha. I assume she's the leader of the pack."
Emily frowned and squeezed her hands for reassurance. "The whole pack is on heightened alert now, and Seth has basically doubled the patrols. Ryan would be here to greet you, too, but he's taken the evening shift. He will be back later. We are going to find their leader and take her down."
That reassured her. Her best friend always knew what to say to her.
Emily let go of her hands and snapped her fingers as if remembering something. She had a dreamy expression on her face. A certain spot on her neck was marked, almost as if it were bruised.
A sly smile appeared on Sarah's face as she nudged her, "Did you get your rocks off with Ryan, Emily?" A small frown, but also a distinct blush of embarrassment appeared on her face.
BINGO!
Sarah started laughing uncontrollably, attracting the attention of several pack members who gave them curious looks.
She decided to have some fun and shouted, "MY EMILY JUST GOT LAID! SHE GOT THE D!"
Immediately Emily slapped her hands over Sarah's mouth and dragged her up the stairs to Sarah's room, which was now repaired after Sarah had destroyed it earlier.
She turned around and looked at her angrily. "What the hell, Sarah!"
Sarah just shrugged, "What, it's the truth. Besides, you were so loud, yeah..."
"Okay! Okay! I get it!" she interjected, interrupting Sarah. Emily gave her a playful look before asking, "Do you want me to help you get ready for the ceremony?"
Her eyes lit up with excitement, "I thought you'd never ask!"
Emily sat her down on the chair in front of the mirror, grabbed a few of her things and hummed a little tune. She looked at Sarah reassuringly and winked at her to trust her.
"I'll make sure even Seth can not keep his hands off you," she joked.
Oh boy, this is going to take a while.

Two hundred and forty-five moves, thirty-nine burns, and sixty-nine strokes later, her head was finally done. Yes, she hit Emily sixty-nine times. What did she think she was going to do to Sarah's poor head? Sarah was going to end up bald!
"And... Done," Emily said optimistically, prompting Sarah to open her eyes.
Hesitantly, she did, but she did not regret it one bit, because she was thrilled with the result.
Although it was a light eye shadow, it matched her skin perfectly. The black eyeliner she applied over the eyeshadow made it glow. Her lipstick was red, but the amount of mascara she applied was not as much as she thought. Overall, she looked pretty hot.
Sarah squealed with delight and hugged Emily tightly.
Emily laughed at her reaction and then showed her a stunningly beautiful dress.
She just keeps blowing Sarah away, doesn't she?
Sarah unzips the dress and slips into it. Emily zippers it up for her while she admires herself in the mirror. It kind of felt like a wedding, but in a way Sarah guess it was, because she had to commit to this pack forever as Luna.
When Sarah looked at her watch, she realized that she had only five minutes left to get to the ceremony. She panicked and rushed Emily to finish.
Emily hurriedly put on the finishing touches before rushing her out the door and down the stairs.
As she dragged Sarah onto the stage, she was suddenly blinded by a bright light.
