Her Broken Mate 12
The ears on Sarah's head flattened as she growled at the intruders. Three rogues surrounded her and growled at her to back off. There was no way she was going to run! As far as she could see, the middle one was female. The other two at her sides were young men, but dangerous nonetheless. She tried to connect with her mind to get reinforcements, but was unsuccessful.
There was no ceremony for her as a
Luna nor as a pack member returning after nine years, so her ties to the pack members were weak.
She did not mark Seth, so again, bad luck.
Curse the requirements to bind your mate. The first requirement was to be in the same pack, and the last requirement was to mark each other.
Damn, now she did not stand a chance. Where the hell was the patrol?
Then she realised that these rogues were masking their scents.
A loud growl escaped her, warning them one last time not to mess with her. They did not seem to have understood the signal, because they suddenly fell upon her.
Teeth and claws were all she felt, their growls and snarls booming into the forest. She let out a pained whimper as the female's teeth dug into her shoulder, and another scream as one of the males bit into her leg. The other male took this as weakness and slammed his paw into her side, leaving deep bloody scratch marks.
What is she doing? She is a Luna!
Sarah growled softly and her will to kill them all was stronger than before. Thunder, who had been silent a few moments ago, gave her some of her power to kill those wolves.
She quickly shook them off and fled from the pile.
She quickly turned and lunged at one of the males, taking his ankle between her teeth and crushing him. He gave a whimper and tried to shake her off. However, she was persistent and did not let up until enough blood dripped off him.
She hurled him against a tree, the impact causing a bang. The wolf collapsed, weakened from blood loss. His other male companion tried to stop her from approaching him further, but she only swiped at his face with her paw, her claws leaving deep marks. Blood dripped from his muzzle and the scratches will probably scar him forever.
While he froze in pain and moved out of her way, she made her way to the other collapsed cat. Quick as a flash, she snapped her jaws at his neck. She choked the male and his whimpers were music to her ears.
As she applied more pressure to his neck, a gurgling yelp escaped him one last time before his life was extinguished.
She dropped him like a rag doll and licked her lips. The female stood in front of her, but remained quite still, even after she had taken out one of her companions.
The male she hit in the face was badly hurt, but not enough, as he stood proudly next to the female.
As if on cue, the female transformed and was left stark naked.
The female's blonde hair flowed freely over her body, showing off her natural beauty. Only one of her eyes stared deep into her wolves, searching for something; anything. The other eye? Non-existent. It was covered by an eye patch that concealed the lost eye.
She did not look like any other werewolf, she was different. Sarah could not quite place it.
Her figure screamed dominance.
Sarah knew immediately that this was an alpha female.
Female. Probably of rogues, but an alpha nonetheless. That explained why she was not afraid of her.
She stood silently waiting for Sarah's reaction before speaking, "I have come to deliver a message to you and your dear old Alpha. Tell him when he wakes up that his past will soon catch up with him. That his loved ones will be in danger for what he has done, for a debt he has not paid."
Sarah flashed her fangs once more and told them to get lost. The wounds she had sustained made it impossible for her to attack.
She gave Sarah a sinister smile, her flawless face showing that she knew she was too weak to fight. "Tell Stella that... Martha is back. That she's come back to take what was originally hers. Take your wounds with you as a warning to your companion and all of them to me, yes? I would appreciate that."
Martha changed back into her brown wolf and sprinted at an inhuman pace into the forest, where her boundary was not considered. The male wolf followed her directly and disappeared into the dense foliage.
Sarah could only watch them escape, but even if she tried to move, she knew she could not.
Thunder forcibly twisted backward, too tired to struggle any further. Fatigue had finally caught up with her body as she slumped on the floor.
She had not fought in her wolf form or as a human in ages, so this was to be expected.
The ground was smeared with her own blood and the grass was turning red.
When the evening patrols finally arrived on the scene, all they saw and smelled was the smell of blood and their Luna lying wounded on the ground.
It's about damn time they arrived.
Seth ran to her tired form before leaning down to pick her up. His eyes were misty and he called for the pack doctor.
His eyes looked into hers. They were full of worry and despair, and hers of relief and sadness.
The last thing she felt was the gentle caress against her cheek before the darkness engulfed her.
