Chapter 012 The Delivery Guy

Jacob held some importance in the Dragon Chamber of Commerce. His actions immediately made the operation of the entire Smith Group difficult.

Bernice didn't expect that her act of hitting Jacob would cause such a chain reaction, even prompting Uncle Mason to personally come and scrutinize her...

Mason's daughter, Christine Smith, also had a scornful expression on her face and said, "If Bernice doesn't have what it takes, she should quickly step down from her position!"

Jane couldn't help but get angry and shouted, "Who says Bernice doesn't have what it takes? Since the incident happened yesterday, we will naturally resolve it without letting it affect the company!"

Bernice pursed her lips, nodded, and remained silent. However, her eyes were filled with determination.

"Does she have what it takes? Now that Jacob is making a scene, the entire Dragon Chamber of Commerce is also involved. The consequences are dire," Mason added.

"Also, I heard that you certainly rejected the alliance with the Jones Group and betrothed Bernice to an incompetent prison guard. Is it because you have no heirs, so you had to accept a son-in-law?"

Jane looked at Robert with a face full of resentment. If it weren't for his stubbornness, their family wouldn't have become laughingstocks.

Impatiently waving his hand, Mason said, "Three days, you have three days to get things done! If Bernice fails to obtain the forgiveness from the Dragon Chamber of Commerce, recover the debt, and resolve the bank issue within three days; then my daughter Christine will replace her position. When you make mistakes, you must be prepared for the consequences!"

Bernice offending Jacob allowed Mason to make a move.

Bernice took a deep breath and thought of Norton, who had previously vouched for her. She nodded slightly and said, "I will handle it!"

Unable to hold back, Christine scornfully remarked, "You'll handle it? How will you handle it? If you had married Mr. Jones from the Jones Group, it would have been fine, but instead, you married a small prison guard. Are you planning to have your husband throw all the Dragon Chamber of Commerce people into jail? How ridiculous! I suggest you step down and pass the position to someone more competent."

Bernice's face turned dark as she coldly replied, "How I handle it is none of your concern. Within three days, I will give you a solution."

Christine indifferently added, "I'll be waiting. If you fail to solve it, let's see how you will explain it to our grandfather!”

After saying this, Christine turned her head to look at Ethan, her face filled with disdain and contempt.

An insignificant person without power or influence, who knows where he came from. I wonder what Robert saw in him.

"Taking care of a small manager under a little bug like him won't take three days," Ethan said with an indifferent expression.

"A little bug?!" Upon hearing this, everyone couldn't help but look at him in shock.

"Watch your mouth! Get out of here. We don't welcome you! If you go crazy, don't involve Bernice!" Jane angrily scolded Ethan, pointing her finger at his nose.

Ethan shrugged it off, picked up his jacket, and left.

Today’s events had already upset him, so why stay here and endure the cold treatment?

Robert furrowed his brow, also annoyed by these matters, and didn't try to stop Ethan from leaving.

“Robert, it’s unbearable to look at that son-in-law of yours! If he hadn't entered our Smith family, he wouldn't have acted like this. Don't talk nonsense, I don’t really care about him. But now he is Bernice's husband, so he must be mindful of his words.

“If the President hears about this, do you have any idea of what the consequences will be?” Mason stared at Robert sternly and squeezed out these words through his teeth.

Bernice was furious beyond words. Ethan was useless, that was fine, but his mouth was so big and foul. He would eventually be the death of her!

Dorothy's eyes flashed with surprise. ’Was Ethan that capable?’

"If only I had not listened to Dad!"

Ethan also felt somewhat helpless. He was kicked out by Jane from the Smith family without even having a meal, so he had to buy something on the street. Carried the food in his hands and walked slowly into Sky Villa.

Just as he entered Sky Villa, Ethan furrowed his brows because he saw Diana's jeep. However, Diana was not by the car, her assistant Michelle stood beside it instead.

Michelle was surprised to see Ethan. Could it be on that day Diana wasn’t hallucinating, and it truly was Ethan who drove out of the Sky Heaven?! But then she noticed the bag of food in Ethan's hands, and a hint of understanding and contempt flashed on her face.

"Sky Villa is not a place where ordinary people can afford to live in. Those who can afford to buy a house here are either billionaires or powerful bosses," Michelle lightly said as she walked towards Ethan.

Ethan cast a sidelong glance at her, not wanting to pay any attention to her at all.

Michelle continued, “With your own efforts, it's probably impossible for you to ever get the opportunity to live in Sky Villa. Miss has given you a chance, you should cherish it instead of constantly pestering her. It's pointless!

“Don't feel embarrassed about delivering food, at least you can support yourself through your efforts. This means that you are an ambitious person. If you don't want to ask Miss for help, you can ask me, I'm willing to help on her behalf.”

Ethan felt that both the master and servant were crazy. They acted high and mighty, and every word they said felt like they were giving charity to him.

"Please bother to stay away and don't delay my return home," Ethan said coldly and walked away.

‘Home?'

Michelle chuckled after hearing this and shook her head helplessly. Not only was he hopeless, he was also an excessively vain man. Did he honestly think that delivering food to Sky Villa meant he lived there?

"Is that Ethan?" Diana appeared at this moment, frowned as she looked at his back, and asked indifferently.

"He's delivering food," Michelle replied and smiled lightly.

Diana nodded, feeling somewhat helpless as well. This man's nature...

Ethan is stubborn to some extent. He would rather deliver takeout himself than ask her for help. But it doesn't matter anymore, they are strangers now. How he was doing had nothing to do with her.

Ethan calmly returned to Sky Heaven Villa, opened the food bag, and ate while taking out a bunch of letters from his luggage that the prisoners had stuffed in before he left.

He filtered out the letters that were about flattery and bad relationships.

"I've wasted my whole life. Anthony, why couldn't you touch something else? Why military weapons? Your brain must be filled with water..." Ethan shook his head and looked at the letter, shaking his head slightly with regret after a while.

After eating about a third of the take-out food, he received a call from James.

"Underboss, the Mayor feels deeply apologetic about last time’s incident, so he and Mr. Thomas are hosting a dinner to apologize to you. Will you please attend it?" James smiled.

Ethan wanted to refuse, but James insisted, so he could only reluctantly agree, he left the unfinished food behind and headed to the banquet.
