Chapter 081 Reversal
Ella also stared at Ethan as though he had gone mad. Could it be that this guy is indeed mentally ill? Is he seriously preparing to get physical with others in front of the Chief of Police of Boston?!
"Wasting food is not good," Ethan said seriously to Doris, then picked up the plate of food.
Doris couldn't help but freeze for a moment, then spat at Ethan and cursed, "Get lost, you lunatic!"
Ethan easily dodged, and then directly slapped Doris in the face with the plate of food!
The whole plate of food landed on Doris' face, leaving her in a sorry state as she sat down on the ground.
"You have some nerve!" Tom couldn't help but angrily rebuke.
Victor's expression turned serious as he pulled out his gun and said in a deep voice, "I order you to immediately get down on your knees with your hands behind your head. Otherwise, I will consider it an act of resisting arrest and challenging the police’s authority, and I have the right to shoot you on the spot!"
Doris's face was covered in grease and saliva from a food plate, and she was trembling with anger. She shouted, "I can waste food if I want to! What can you do about it? Now, go ahead and try smearing food on my face again!"
Ethan nodded earnestly and said, "It seems like you still don't understand the importance of cherishing food. Today, I must make it clear to you!"
Doris sneered, confident that Victor would not show any mercy if Ethan dared to make a move!
She didn't believe Ethan could fight at all, let alone against a gun!
"What's all this commotion about? Mr. Hodge is here! Mr. Brown and Miss Anderson as well. Why hasn't the matter been resolved yet?"
At this moment, a voice came from the entrance, and the person who appeared was Edwin, whom Ethan had seen at the restaurant before.
"Edwin!" Tom was momentarily startled upon seeing Edwin, then nodded and greeted him.
"Edwin, why are you here?" Victor's face lit up with a smile upon seeing Edwin. He put away his gun, and his detectives also greeted Edwin one after another.
Ethan calmly explained, "Someone was wasting food, and I was teaching them not to waste it."
Edwin laughed and said, "That's a good thing!"
Victor's expression suddenly stiffened, and he said in a deep voice, "Edwin, this person is a suspect. He just assaulted a member of the Tiger Group in this private room, and he even did it in front of me..."
"He just explained it clearly. He was teaching people to cherish food. How could it be considered an assault?" Edwin asked, his face full of smiles.
Victor was dumbfounded, and then he felt a shock. It was evident that Edwin was here to support Ethan!
Tom, who was standing on the side, also understood the meaning behind Edwin's words and his face turned gloomy.
Doris exclaimed in shock, "Edwin, look at all the stuff on my face. He did this to me! You can't be biased like this. Isn't there any law?"
Edwin glanced at Doris with a smile that didn't reach his eyes and said, " Law? Isn't Mr. Hodge the law in Boston? Mr. Hodge, what do you think? Is there any crime in this matter?"
Victor would never dare to offend Edwin. After all, his father was the big boss of Boston. If he offended him, there would be no future for him in Boston.
Joseph had managed Boston well in recent years and had a promising future. He had gained the attention of influential people in the country, and the probability for him to rise to a national position in the future was high.
It wasn't worth it to offend such an important figure.
"Edwin, my men were assaulted!" Tom started to explain.
Ethan said with a grim face, "I know, but shouldn't people who waste food be struck by lightning from the heavens? It's good to teach them a lesson, isn't it?"
Edwin looked at Tom in surprise. Tom's mouth twitched fiercely, showing some annoyance, but he couldn't directly explode.
Ella, on the other hand, chuckled softly. She did not know when Ethan had met someone like Edwin, who could surely help him. That was quite impressive.
Victor also changed his tone at this moment and said sternly to Tom, "" Mr. Brown, it is inappropriate for your people to waste food. Moreover, spitting in someone else's dishes goes against ethics! This matter was provoked by you, so you should negotiate and solve it yourselves. If the negotiation fails, we will step in to handle it!"
Ethan glanced at Victor sideways and asked, "Mr. Hodge just claimed to be the law in Boston and wanted to convict me. Why the change of heart now?"
This remark immediately made Victor break out in a cold sweat. If word of this remark reached Joseph's ears, he would be punished.
"Just kidding..."
Victor forcibly calmed himself down and smiled, saying, "If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave. You can discuss and resolve it among yourselves."
After saying this, he nodded to Edwin and said, "Edwin, I'll be going now. I'll pay a visit to the mayor another day."
Before Edwin could respond, Victor waved his hand and left with his people.
Victor's sudden departure stunned the members of the Tiger Group.
When Victor appeared earlier, they were all high and mighty, ready to send Ethan to jail. But Edwin's arrival instantly turned the tide against them.
"If you all don't finish eating these things today and compensate me with one million dollars each for the damages, this matter won't be resolved," Ethan said seriously and stubbornly, without any room for negotiation.
Tom gritted his teeth and said, "Ethan, I'll remember this!"
Ethan didn't respond.
Tom swiftly turned on his heel, sharply twisted his head away, and briskly departed, clearly indicating his desire to avoid any further interaction with the remaining individuals.
"What's the matter? Didn't you hear what he said?" Edwin sneered, looking at the members of the Tiger Group and asking.
Doris trembled and saw Ethan picking up a plate of dishes with saliva. She couldn't help but scream, "I'll eat... I'll eat it!"
The members of the Tiger Group, who had been defeated by Ethan, also got up one by one, starting to eat the dishes they had spat on, despite feeling nauseous. They had to endure and swallow it.
Then, Ethan waited for them to transfer the money. One million dollars per person, if not enough, they could leave an IOU.
"Is it appropriate to extort them like this?" Dorothy asked nervously.
"But earlier, Tom wanted me to compensate them one million dollars," Ethan reasoned with a guilty conscience.
So, Ethan said expressionlessly, without any psychological burden, "After collecting the money, you should have half of it, Edwin."
Edwin smiled and waved his hand, saying, "I can't accept this money. It would cause complications if I did. It's just a small favor. Don't worry, what you've done for our family goes beyond this."
Ethan didn't make a fuss either. Seeing that Edwin wouldn't accept it, he put the bank card in his pocket.
"Let's go. We can have a meal together, and I'll introduce you to some friends," Edwin approached Ethan and pulled him along.
