Chapter 034 Stir Up Trouble
Ethan's loud shout startled everyone present, including Jasmine.
Once the lights came on, Paddy could clearly see Ethan's face and was immediately dumbfounded.
Upon hearing Ethan's shout, cold sweat began to trickle down Paddy's back.
‘Why would the Devil himself be here?’
"How dare you disrespect Mr. Paddy? Do you want to go to hell?" A young man rushed forward.
Paddy slapped the young man, sending him flying, then forced a smile towards Ethan.
Jasmine noticed that something was seriously wrong. Once Paddy got a clear look at Ethan's face, his complexion paled, and his hands trembled slightly.
Frowning, Jasmine couldn't help but whisper, "Sir?"
With his hands in his pockets, Ethan looked at Paddy and squinted, saying with a smile, "Just two years out of prison, and you allow your woman to humiliate me!"
Upon hearing these words, Paddy shuddered and quickly replied with a bitter smile, "Boss, you're just joking. How could I let Jasmine humiliate you? How was I supposed to know you were here? Plus, Jasmine and I had a small misunderstanding. If I had known that you here to guide our work, I wouldn't have had any complaints at all!"
Jasmine couldn't help but tremble when she heard this. In her eyes, Paddy was always like a king.
But at this moment, Paddy was groveling before Ethan.
The onlookers were also shocked by their conversation. What on earth was going on?
Paddy was such a prominent figure, and seemed quite familiar with Ethan, but was he also afraid of him?
"It seems like The Nightmare didn't beat your face hard enough back then. You haven't learned your lesson and keep showing off in front of me!" Ethan said with a smirk.
Paddy trembled all over. Back in prison, he didn't listen to the guards, and Ethan made him share a cell with The Nightmare...
The Nightmare was the one who killed a high-ranking officer's entire family. Paddy almost got beaten to death by The Nightmare, but managed to survive by groveling and begging Ethan, which got him transferred to a different cell.
Everyone was dumbfounded, almost biting their tongues. Paddy had his face beaten by someone called The Nightmare?!
Paddy grinned awkwardly, not daring to say a word.
"Just a moment ago, you made me kneel and apologize to your woman," Ethan said calmly.
Without hesitation, Paddy's knees went soft, and he knelt directly in front of Ethan.
"Boss, I didn't know it was you. I was just joking. Please forgive me!" he exclaimed. "I have a tendency to speak arrogantly and without restraint, as you know well from the years we have spent together."
Jasmine stared at this imposing man and after kneeling in front of Ethan, Paddy's face grew even paler, and his lips began to tremble involuntarily. Paddy was indeed an important figure and highly capable. Otherwise, how could he have been appointed as the manager of the Tiger Gang branch? But despite being such a prominent person, he knelt before Ethan, apologizing with utmost respect. It was truly terrifying!
"Alright, get up. You're too timid, kneeling so quickly!" Ethan impatiently waved his hand and sat back on the sofa.
Dorothy stood by, stunned, and even bit her lips hard, afraid that she was dreaming. As a result, tears welled up from the pain.
Paddy got up from the floor and awkwardly smiled. Ethan was the shadow of his life, a truly formidable figure that he couldn't afford to offend. Kneeling was a small price to pay for preserving his dignity, better than getting killed.
Sydney Prison housed the most notorious criminals, and some of them naturally didn't respond well to discipline. However, everyone there now cooperated, even if they caused minor disturbances. No one dared to cause a major one. Where did all the troublemakers go? Well, no one wanted to explore that question.
"Jasmine, this is Mr. McKellen. You can also address him as Second Boss. Toast him three drinks as an apology for your previous rudeness!" Paddy smiled and pulled Jasmine's hand, leading her to the front.
Jasmine felt wronged, but she didn't dare to say much. She poured three full glasses of alcohol and held them up to Ethan.
"Mr. McKellen, I sincerely apologize for offending you earlier. It was my fault. Please forgive me!" After saying this, Jasmine tilted her head back and finished one glass.
Dorothy's eyes darted around as she murmured, "I didn't see it wrong. Jasmine xertainly apologized to Ethan..."
Jasmine picked up the second glass and said, "Earlier, I was biased in my actions. Mr. McKellen, please forgive me!"
After finishing the second glass, Jasmine was starting to feel a bit tipsy. However, she remained respectful, lifting the third glass and saying, "This third glass of wine is my hope that you will come to our bar often and enjoy free drinks as compensation. Please don't refuse."
After saying this, she finished the third glass.
Jasmine, being a mature woman, spoke and acted gracefully, leaving no room for criticism.
Seeing her sincerely drinking three glasses of alcohol, Ethan decided not to dwell on this small matter. He nodded and remained silent.
"Second Boss, I toast to you... since you arrived in Boston without prior notice, I couldn't make preparations to welcome you in advance!" Paddy said, "...This must be Second Boss’ wife. Sister-in-law, this drink represents my respect for both of you."
"Jasmine, you should join in and have another drink."
Dorothy blushed but didn't refuse, she just raised her glass and toasted a drink Paddy and Jasmine. She could never have dreamed that one day both Jasmine and Paddy would toast a drink with her, and the one responsible for all of this was Ethan, the worthless husband whom Bernice looked down upon. A small prison guard who had just been released from a little prison.
Ethan said, "I'm no longer mad, you guys can go." Paddy smiled, hesitant to say more, and took Jasmine back to the office.
"Sir, who is this guy?!" Jasmine asked in astonishment, seeing Paddy so humble in front of others for the first time.
Paddy swallowed hard and forced a chuckle, "You better not ask. Just make sure you don't provoke him in the future, otherwise, no matter what, I won't be able to protect you!"
"He's connected to Diana, is that why you're so afraid?" Jasmine pursed her lips, somewhat displeased.
"Of course, I dare not offend Diana, but this person, I won't even dare make him angry! In any case, don't ask too much, just be careful in the future!" Paddy said with bitterness and let out a long sigh.
When Dorothy stumbled away to settle the bill, the waiter informed her that Jasmine had already had her bill waived. "I never thought that one day I could also enjoy a waived bill in Jasmine's bar..." Dorothy's heart was filled with mixed feelings.
‘My luck is simply the best in Boston!’ After she finished her thoughts, she swayed and fell into Ethan's arms.
