Chapter 025 Giving You a Chance
Paul's face turned dark. He had already arrived, yet Ethan had still knocked out his assistant!
"You better give me a convincing excuse that I can barely listen to. Otherwise, the Smith Group will go bankrupt today!" Paul entered the office and spoke coldly.
He was too lazy to talk, so he tossed the cigarette he was toying with back onto the table and sat down on the chair, carefree and casual.
Seeing Ethan's nonchalant attitude, a hint of anger flashed in Paul's eyes.
After waiting for a moment, Ethan finally spoke, "I'll give you a chance too. Put on this outfit and run three laps around the bank building, including solving the Smith family's loan for me. Then, I'll pretend this never happened!"
Upon hearing Ethan's words, Paul couldn't help but burst into laughter.
The employees outside also laughed, shaking their heads, thinking that this person had gone mad.
Paul was the Chairman’s right-hand man and had a significant position in the bank. He had many important clients under his command!
The Smith Group was only worth a few billion, yet they dared to act so arrogantly in front of Paul?
Not to mention that the Smith Group owed Boston Bank one billion now, and if Paul used his connections, he could make the Smith Group suffer.
"Who is this person? Didn't know that the Smith Group had such an arrogant fool. Thinks he's a big shot in society?"
"Being a big shot doesn't help. Only bankruptcy and closure await someone who dares to provoke the Manager like this!"
"The Smith Group must be crazy. They truly sent such a dumb ass to solve their loan problems. I think he's just here to court death!"
One by one, they looked at Ethan as if he were a fool, thinking that his reckless behavior would only lead to the downfall of the entire group.
Paul smiled and said, "What if I say no?"
"Then I'll have to let the Chairman handle this." Ethan shrugged, appearing indifferent.
Hearing that Ethan was about to call John, everyone was stunned and then shocked.
"This guy said he'll have the Chairman handle this. Is it genuinely true or did I mishear?""
"He's just bluffing here! With his appearance, does he even know the Chairman? It's hilarious!"
"If he can really get him here, I'll cut off my head and use it as a ball!"
"Hmph, even if he does know the Chairman, the bank manager wouldn't favor him. The bank manager is loyal to the Chairman!"
"He may know him, but whether the Chairman knows him, we won’t know for sure."
Paul looked at Ethan, then laughed and calmly said, "All right then, call him over to handle it!"
Ethan calmly responded, "Don't say I didn't give you a chance."
"If you can really get Chairman here, that's fine. But if you can't, I'll make sure you know the price you'll pay for trying to show off in front of me!" A fierce and vindictive look flashed in Paul's eyes, and he waved his hand, calling several security guards to the entrance.
Ethan couldn't be bothered to talk any further. He took out his phone directly and dialed Joseph's number.
"Master, you finally called me. Is it because you're here to handle my daughter's condition?" Joseph asked with a big laugh, showing respect for him.
"Mayor Joseph, I'm currently at the Boston bank. Could you please give me the bank president's phone number? I need to talk to him," Ethan said with a smile.
Joseph chuckled upon realizing that Ethan was seeking his assistance, but he felt no displeasure.
Having interacted with Ethan twice, Joseph understood his temperament. Such a distinguished individual could not be compelled easily.
Now that Ethan was asking for his help, Joseph couldn’t be happier. By doing so, he would owe him a favor! Then, when he needed Ethan’s assistance, it would be impossible for him to refuse!
"It's a small matter. Where are you? I'll call him directly and have him come over," Joseph said generously.
"Okay..." Ethan agreed.
Upon hearing Ethan referring to the other party as "Mayor Joseph" during the phone call, the people around them all sneered.
"See? This bastard doesn't even recognize our bank’s Chairman. He doesn't even have his number!"
"He can't find the Chairman’s number, so he is intentionally pretending to call Mayor Joseph? Ridiculous!"
"He can't call the Chairman, so he wants to scare people using Mayor Joseph's reputation. If he doesn't know him, how could he possibly know Mayor Joseph?"
Upon witnessing Ethan's phone call to Joseph, everyone expressed their disbelief, regarding him as a poser without any boundaries.
Paul sat on the sofa, laughing out loud. Calmly, he took out a pack of expensive cigarettes from his pocket and pulled one out, placing it in his mouth.
"Snap!"
A subordinate swiftly approached and lit the cigarette, carefully holding the flame near Paul's mouth.
Paul didn't even bother to use his hand protectively against the flame. He casually leaned back with his legs crossed and lit the cigarette, taking a deep puff.
Such an attitude was not something an ordinary person could possess.
"Hey kid, don’t say I didn’t give you a chance! Whether you’re a poser or really making a phone call, it’s best if you can bring someone who can defeat me within ten minutes,” Paul said, seemingly unconcerned, while smoking.
"If you can't defeat me, then I'm sorry! I will make sure that The Smith Group goes bankrupt tonight, regardless of whether Bernice wears that maid outfit or not."
"And as for you, the bastard who dared to hit my subordinate in my office, you won't have a good end! I'll break your limbs and make you crawl out of my office like a snake."
Paul's words made the surrounding employees involuntarily gasp and then immediately flatter him.
"You indeed handle matters with such boldness. First, give this bastard a chance to bring people to help him, then deal with him. No wonder you've become a managerial figure, as the right-hand man of the Chairman!"
"If I had even half of the manager's demeanor, no, even one-tenth, I might have been promoted to team leader by now!"
"The manager truly is my idol. I hope that someday I can become such a prominent figure."
At this moment, the employees were all admiring Paul, which made him feel quite pleased. Paul's smile grew wider, and he took another deep drag of his cigarette.
Ethan chuckled and played with his phone while waiting for Joseph to call John over.
