Chapter 099 Low Emotional Intelligence
Henry's attitude wasn't exactly arrogant, but he gave off a superior vibe, as if he were talking to ants.
Before Ethan could speak, Dorothy said, "Mr. Henry, if Miss Miller approaches him, he can't avoid her, can he?"
Henry sneered and said, "If Miss Miller approaches him, I'll still ruin him! That's my decision, my rule!"
Dorothy couldn't help but find Henry overbearing and unreasonable, but she couldn't afford to offend him and could only shake her head.
"Just don't provoke him..."
"Bush Boxing is the most prominent boxing style in Massachusetts. Their gyms are spread all over the state! People from there are domineering and rely heavily on force. If you make them angry and get beaten up, it will break my heart..."
Dorothy gently grasped Ethan's sleeve and whispered, afraid that he would confront Henry head-on.
However, Ethan scoffed disdainfully and said, "You want to break my hand or gouge my eyes?"
After saying that,
Without warning, he suddenly shouted, "Barbara!"
"Hmm?" Barbara, who was engrossed in conversation with her friends, turned her head upon hearing Ethan calling her.
"Come over here," Ethan said with a mischievous smile.
Henry's expression immediately changed. "Could this guy be any more eccentric? Has he forgotten that I just warned him? Is he planning to tattle on Barbara right after? Is he even a man?"
Barbara walked over and asked Ethan, "Mr. McKellen, what can I do for you?"
"Nothing, I just thought you looked beautiful today, so I wanted to admire you a bit more," Ethan said earnestly as he scrutinized Barbara's stunning beauty with a smile.
Henry was so infuriated that his face became dark and gloomy.
Dorothy couldn't help but feel a sense of helplessness and amusement. Ethan was just like this. The more you try to dissuade him, the more he insists on doing it, often just to spite you.
Upon hearing Ethan's words, Barbara's face turned slightly red, but she couldn't contain her sense of pride and smiled, saying, "Of course, I put a lot of effort into dressing up today."
"Wow, your hands are so smooth and fair. Can I have a look?" Ethan reached out his right hand.
"Huh?" Barbara hesitated for a moment but instinctively extended her hand for him to take.
Ethan held Barbara's hand and smiled, saying, "You must have taken good care of your hands. The skin is so tender!"
Henry was so enraged by the scene before him that his whole body began to tremble. He wished he could just pin Ethan down and pummel him right now!
Taking a deep breath, Henry struggled to calm himself down.
"Alright, it's nothing. Just a joke," Ethan let go of Barbara's hand, smiled faintly, and said.
"Then let me go and say hello to my friends first. We can chat later," Barbara said.
After Barbara walked away, the smile on Ethan's face instantly disappeared, and he turned to Henry, saying, "You can now try gouging my eyeballs or breaking my hands. I'm looking forward to it!"
Dorothy couldn't help but feel a sense of alarm. Did Ethan have to play such thrilling games?
Just after Henry warned him, he called Barbara over and tried out everything Henry had warned him against.
It was like a slap to Henry's face, as if he meant nothing to Ethan.
"I've never met someone as arrogant and rude as you," Henry said angrily.
"Arrogant? Rude? It seems like you're describing yourself," Ethan replied expressionlessly, staring at Henry.
Henry wanted nothing more than to pin Ethan to the ground and teach him a lesson, but this was Barbara's birthday banquet, with people coming and going. He couldn't act like this.
Taking two deep breaths, Henry said slowly, "Just wait! Once Miss Miller's birthday party is over, I will settle the score with you. I hope you're ready."
"Can you stay as tough as you are now?" Ethan couldn't help but curl his lips, not taking this threat seriously at all. Why waste time talking when there are things that can be done?
Henry, who was about to leave, was taken aback by these words, almost tripping over in anger!
Dorothy looked at Ethan, unable to laugh or cry, thinking that sometimes this guy really knows how to provoke people...
"Hey, can't you stop causing trouble? If you have no issue with Barbara, just explain it nicely." Dorothy asked, slightly annoyed.
"If this guy had a more sincere and obedient attitude, maybe I would be kinder to him. But I don't like his attitude!" Ethan shook his head.
Ethan didn't even like Diana and Cara, who were beautiful women, so how could he like a man who thinks highly of himself?
"Barbara's touch earlier, it felt good, didn't it?" Dorothy suddenly snorted, grabbing his collar and asking.
"Alright! Why are you grabbing me?" Ethan asked irritably.
"I'm jealous!" Dorothy angrily shook him a couple of times.
Ethan said, "Even Bernice isn't jealous, so what are you jealous of?"
Dorothy was speechless. After all, Bernice is Ethan's wife, and she didn't say anything. She really had no reason to be jealous.
Ethan suddenly became wary and said, "Could it be that you intentionally flirt with me, then make Bernice think I'm a scumbag so she would divorce me early?"
"Go to hell!" Dorothy couldn't help but knock on his head, turned around, and left in anger.
Ethan suddenly had second thoughts, feeling that something was off. After all, he listened attentively to Dorothy and Bernice's conversation in the helicopter.
"Could it be that she really has feelings for me?" Ethan began to ponder silently and walked back to Bernice's side.
Bernice was talking to a friend, and when she saw Ethan coming back, she coldly snorted in her heart, thinking, "If you invite me again, beg me, I'll reluctantly agree to dance with you!"
After waiting for a while without Ethan speaking, she frowned and asked, "Do you still want to dance with me?"
"Forget it, didn't you say you can't dance?" Ethan said dismissively.
Bernice was so angry that her vision went dark, and the sense of frustration in her chest grew stronger, almost suffocating her.
Watching Ethan and Barbara dance, Bernice felt an indescribable feeling in her heart.
Seeing his ambiguous words and actions with Dorothy, she felt even worse.
Now, Ethan's words almost made her burst with anger.
Clearly, Ethan is a guy with low emotional intelligence.
"What's so great about him?"
"Is it worth Barbara's initiative? Even Dorothy looks at him differently!" Bernice clenched her teeth in frustration.
Just then, a helicopter approached noisily and landed on the deck.
A huge coffin was kicked off the helicopter and crashed heavily onto the deck, producing a loud bang.
Everyone present was left stunned by the sight...
Who on earth is this? How dare they bring a coffin to the Miller family's dinner party!
