Chapter 013 Seeking for Help

The dinner was held at the prestigious Cloud Grand Hotel in Boston. Joseph thought that if he didn't do it in this manner, it would have seemed disrespectful to Ethan.

He almost lost his life last time because he underestimated Ethan. Joseph dared not show any negligence towards this young man with a mysterious background and great ability.

"Are you having a meal here too, Mayor Joseph?" When Norton and the Smith family, who had just arrived at the hotel entrance, saw him and others standing at the door, they could not help but freeze.

Norton went up to greet Joseph directly, but Joseph frowned and didn't recognize him.

Norton said, "Mayor, I am Norton from the Jones Group. We had a drink together last time!"

Their group then entered the Cloud Grand Hotel and went into the reserved private room.

Around this time, Ethan finally arrived, appearing lazy and calm. He said, "Sorry for being late."

"Master is too polite, it's all right. I will be satisfied as long as you grace us with your presence!" Joseph politely replied to his savior, speaking with respect.

Some secret observers couldn't help but be shocked. Who is this young man that made Mayor Joseph wait for such a long time?

Ethan always did as he pleased and was carefree. It was already embarrassing to Joseph that he arrived around this time.

"Master, did you consider the matter we discussed last time?" Thomas, an old man, flattered Ethan, hoping to learn something from him.

After three rounds of drinks, the door to the private room swung open, revealing a slightly plump middle-aged man walking in.

"Why is the bank president here?" Joseph furrowed his brows when he saw John, the president of Boston Bank.

John started as a small clerk in the bank, and his ability to read people was top-notch. Seeing that the person sitting in the chief seat was not Joseph or James, but rather a young stranger, his heart couldn’t help but stir.

"Coincidentally, I was here to discuss money matters with the CEO of the Jones Group, Jonathan. I heard that Mayor Joseph was here, so I especially came to share a toast." John said with a smile, but he secretly sized up Ethan, curious about this young man who garnered such attention from Mayor Joseph.

Joseph frowned and said, "Jonathan's real estate company has encountered major problems, with a significant fund deficit. Even if you give them a loan, it's unlikely to turn things around."

John was immediately flattered, "Mayor Joseph is truly sharp-sighted. You can see the problem right away! I, of course, won't lend it to the Jones Group. The amount of their losses in the real estate sector is too large. Even if I were to give them two billion, it wouldn't be enough to recover."

Ethan listened calmly and it seemed that Norton wouldn’t be proud for much longer.

After John toasted everyone, he raised his cup to Ethan with a smile and said, "To this young man, I toast you."

Ethan casually touched his lips with the drink and smiled faintly.

Being able to have Mayor Joseph greet him at the door and sit at the head of this table, one can only imagine how extraordinary it is.

After toasting, John cautiously left the private room. It was enough for him to show his face in front of the leaders and toast with the important guests.

Ethan could tell that Joseph had something to ask for, so he spoke up, "What does Mayor Joseph need my help with? Just say it directly, no need to beat around the bush."

Joseph, with his thoughts exposed, was not embarrassed. After all, he was experienced in the political arena. He continued, "My daughter has been ill for many years, even Mr. Thomas couldn't cure her. So, I wanted to ask Master to give it a try."

"A disease that even Mr. Thomas couldn't cure?" Ethan glanced at Thomas.

"Master, it's a heart disease. Barbara Miller, this girl, locks herself in her room all day, drawing the curtains, never seeing the daylight. If this continues, she will end up with a serious illness even if she is not sick!" Thomas said and sighed.

"A heart disease must have a reason,” Ethan said.

Joseph hesitated for a moment, sighed, and said, "My daughter had an argument with her mother and ran away from home... Unexpectedly, my wife fell ill. Until she passed away, my daughter never saw her again. As a result, she has been burdened with guilt and remorse."

Ethan nodded thoughtfully and said calmly, "I will go and take a look when I have the chance."

With Ethan’s words, Joseph completely let go of his worries.

Ethan was not a person who enjoyed socializing. After he was full, he left immediately.

Joseph didn't try to keep him and immediately escorted him out with Thomas.
