Chapter 079 Settling Privately

Ella had always been a person who prioritized interests, and that's why everyone tends to label her as "The Cruel Lady".

Tom turned his head and said to Ethan, "Do you want to settle this privately?"

Ethan calmly asked, "What do you mean by 'settle privately'?"

"To settle privately means to compensate. There's one person here, so you can compensate me with one million dollars. In total, nine million dollars will settle this. If we settle publicly, we report this to the authorities, let them handle it, assess the injuries of the victim, and file a lawsuit against you, which will land you in jail," Tom said casually.

Since Ethan was someone who could defeat Mr. Chaucer, using underworld methods would be troublesome, so leveraging the power of the police station was the best option.

This time, Ethan had physically assaulted someone and was caught at the scene, so he would never let go of this opportunity for revenge.

If it weren't for Ethan's interference in the New Age Mansion land issue, it would already be in his hands by now. So, he detested Ethan to the core.

"Well, let's settle privately. Each of you will compensate me with one million dollars. We can skip the meal on this table, and the matter will be dropped," Ethan said nonchalantly.

Upon hearing this, the Tiger Group's men were left dumbstruck.

"Is this guy crazy? Doesn't he understand what Mr. Brown said? Instead, he wants to extort a million dollars from us?!"

"Who does he think he is, the son of the President? He beats us up and dares to demand money from us!""

"Damn, he's too arrogant. Mr. Brown, we must not let him go. Let's directly report this to the authorities and go through the legal process!"

The members of the Tiger Group all roared in anger, thinking that Ethan was excessively arrogant. If they didn't set an example with him, who would ever take the Tiger Group seriously in the future?!

Cold glints burst from Tom's eyes as he coldly remarked, "I'm speaking to you seriously, and you better fix your attitude. I'm willing to give you the chance to settle privately out of respect for Miss Anderson."

Ella immediately distanced herself and said, "Do whatever you want, this is a personal matter."

Ethan raised his hand and said to Tom, "Please, begin your performance!"

Dorothy, who was on the side, couldn't help but feel like laughing at Ethan's appearance. But in this situation, it wasn't appropriate to laugh, so she could only tightly bite her lip and lightly step on his foot.

Ethan was displeased that Dorothy had stepped on him, so he furrowed his brows and directly stepped on her foot in return.

Dorothy didn't expect this person to lack gentlemanly manners. His heavy step caused her foot to ache, angering her to the point where she reached out to pinch his waist.

Ethan was not one to be taken advantage of, so in his fury, he countered by pinching Dorothy.

The two of them, in their current state, seemed as if they didn't care about Tom at all and were solely engaged in flirting with each other, making Ella want to laugh.

Tom, however, was completely furious. He never expected Ethan to be so audacious that even at this very moment, he would flirt with a woman right in front of him, rather than worry about his situation.

"All right, since you're so arrogant, let's go through the legal process! I want to see if you're as good at fighting as you claim if you can handle the guns of our detectives!"

After finishing his words, Tom directly took out his phone, dialed a number, and said in a deep voice, "Mr. Hodge, please bring your team here. Someone is attacking us, and I implore you to lead the team to apprehend the culprit!"

Victor, the head of the Boston Police Department, immediately responded to Tom's words, saying, "What audacity! Daring to strike someone from the Tiger Group? I'll bring my team right over!"

After saying that, Victor hung up the phone, immediately gathered the detectives working in the station, and dispatched four cars with more than ten people, heading straight towards the scene.

"Stop messing around, Tom has already reported it to the authorities!" Dorothy whispered.

"So, what if he reported it? Does he own the police department? The police should act fairly too," Ethan coldly responded.

Upon hearing this, Doris laughed disdainfully and said, "Fairness? What fairness can a powerless fool like you expect? The Tiger Group represents fairness. If you dare to strike our people, regardless of your reasons or whether it's right or wrong, it's a crime! Do you think you can provoke us and then demand fairness? What a joke!"

Ethan calmly replied, "I have always believed in the existence of fairness, otherwise, I wouldn't have been a prison guard for so many years."

With narrowed eyes, Tom continued to sneer, shaking his head slightly, and said, "Fairness means when you assault someone, you get taken away by the detectives from the police department to face a judicial trial! Do you understand?"

"No, no, no... Fairness means that you compensate me with one million dollars for the damages and eat every bit of this food that your saliva has stained!" Ethan retorted with a smile.

"All right, let's see which side fairness stands with," Tom coldly declared.

Ella wrinkled her brows slightly on the side. Tom had reported it to the authorities, yet Ethan remained fearless. She wondered if he truly believed that justice was on his side or if he had a greater background that could intimidate the official forces.

If Ethan couldn't hold his ground and was truly taken away by the police, she couldn't just sit idly by.

Both morally and logically, she couldn't. Even though she felt somewhat indifferent.

"You better think carefully about your arguments now, even though Mr. Hodge definitely won't listen to them," Doris laughed confidently.

Ethan couldn't be bothered and simply said to Dorothy, "Can you bring me a few more dishes? I haven't eaten enough, and I'm starving..."

Seeing that Ethan ignored her, Doris's expression stiffened for a moment, and then she angrily said, "Go ahead, eat your fill. Once you're done eating, you might be on your way! This might be your last meal!"

Dorothy also found Ethan's behavior odd. Things had escalated to this point and all he cared about was filling his stomach?!

Dorothy whispered, "The people who are coming in a moment might not be so lenient. He is Victor, the Chief of Police in Boston."

Seeing Dorothy ignore his request, Ethan couldn't help but snort coldly, his face full of indifference.

"What do you mean? I'm kindly reminding you..." Dorothy couldn't help but get a little angry.

"Women honestly only annoy me!" Ethan said arrogantly.

"You..." Dorothy was speechless.

Around the same time, the sound of police sirens wailed outside on the street.

Several police cars stopped at the entrance, and detectives in navy blue uniforms quickly got off. Led by a middle-aged chief wearing a white uniform and carrying endless stars on his shoulder, they headed straight for the restaurant's interior.

Doris sneered, "Looks like you won't have a chance to eat this last meal..."

"No need for all the nonsense. Later, make sure to finish the dish with the most saliva!" Ethan impatiently raised an eyebrow and said coldly.
