Chapter 096 Ace of Spades

Everyone coldly stared at Ethan, feeling a sense of suspense.

He was being sneaky on purpose.

"What nonsense are you talking about when you haven't even seen my trump card?" Ethan asked nonchalantly, his face full of indifference.

"I've already said it, your trump card is a six, and it's already bust." Alfredo said coldly, his eyes like knives.

Cara smirked and said, "Ethan, don't you dare play without the willingness to lose! You've clearly busted, and yet you're pretending here. Do you think it's fun?"

Tom also nodded and said indifferently, "If anyone tries to cheat, I won't let them off the hook! The rule in the casino is that you must accept the loss if you lose."

Ella frowned but didn't say anything. If Alfredo said Ethan's trump card is a six, then it must be true. She couldn't imagine what kind of move Ethan could make to turn the situation around.

It seemed certain that he had already put up twenty percent of the shares from the Aim Group.

"I'm sorry, but this trump card of mine is not the six of diamonds," Ethan said calmly. "Dealer, hit!"

The dealer's expressionless face dealt a card from the deck, flipping it open to reveal another two.

Now Ethan had a king, a six, and two twos, totaling twenty points on the cards alone, with five cards in total. He couldn't draw any more cards unless his hidden card was an ace.

"Unless your hidden card is an ace, no matter what it is, you're already bust!" Alfredo said icily.

He was confident that Ethan's hidden card was a six.

Everyone nodded, thinking that Ethan was just trying to cheat and waste time.

If Ethan's hidden card was an ace, then when he received the king, he would have completed a "Blackjack" and beaten Alfredo's twenty-one, making it unnecessary to draw any more cards.

An ace can be counted as either one or eleven.

Cara turned to Ella with a smile and said, "Miss Anderson, please fulfill your promise and take twenty percent of the shares from your company to trade with the Lee Group!"

Tom's eyes gleamed, and he smiled. After defeating Ella, he could also get a big share of the cake.

Moreover, he could naturally embrace the defeated Ella, wouldn't that be wonderful?

Ella's face turned ugly, and she looked at Ethan with some blame. If it wasn't for this guy's arrogance, she would have only lost ten percent, but now it was twenty percent!

"Furthermore, Ethan, you've also lost your life," Cara said coldly.

"You can kill yourself. I have no interest in dealing with trash like you. It would only make my hands dirty," Tom added.

Alfredo stood up and said, "I thought you had some skills, but it turns out you're just like this? You really disappoint me! I thought there would be some surprises today."

"Miss Anderson, next time when you hire someone, remember not to be fooled by some assholes. In the end, it'll be you who suffers the loss, won't it?" he finished his words.

Alfredo was ready to leave.

Ethan chuckled and said, "I haven't even played my hand yet, but why does it feel like I've lost?!"

"Don't pretend to be someone you're not. If you can't handle losing, then don't play!"

"Exactly, I've never seen someone so shameless, trying to blame others in front of so many people. It's really embarrassing!"

"Damn, if I were playing with someone like this, I'd slap him twice. He's too shameless!"

Alfredo crossed his arms and sneered, "Alright then, let me see what cards you have!"

After saying this, he walked directly in front of Ethan, reached out for the facedown card, and threw it heavily onto the table.

A crisp sound was heard as the hole card was revealed!

At that moment, all that could be heard were astonished voices, with everyone stunned and their jaws dropped, looking as if saliva might just flow out of their mouths.

"No way, absolutely impossible! I calculated the cards correctly; your hole card is a six, it can't be an ace!" Alfredo exclaimed in utter disbelief, shaking his head repeatedly, unable to believe what he was seeing.

Ethan, however, remained calm.

Alfredo was shocked and asked, "Are there any witnesses?"

Alfredo snapped back, realizing that cheating was unlikely, as Ethan wouldn't dare to cheat in front of so many people.

Moreover, the deck was shuffled by the dealer the entire time.

It was at this moment that the dealer spread out the deck, and to everyone's surprise, there was no Ace of Spades. Clearly, Ethan's Ace of Spades wasn't slipped in from another deck.

Alfredo was further astounded.

"No way, this can't be... If your hole card is the Ace of Spades, then when you received a King, you already had a Blackjack. You could have easily defeated Alfredo! Why did you continue to hit, risking going over 21?" Cara also couldn't believe it, her face full of disbelief as she spoke.

The crowd was stunned!

Indeed, with Ethan's initial hole card being the Ace of Spades and his second card totaling ten points, he had a "Blackjack," a winning hand against Alfredo's twenty-one.

Instead of showing his hand at that moment, he continued hitting.

Ethan calmly said, "Because, I felt that the game ending like this would be too boring."

"And I also wanted to see what skills the great Gambler Alfredo truly possesses. Well, he disappointed me!"

As these words came out, the crowd erupted in applause and cheers from some neutral spectators.

Ethan's gambling prowess actually surpassed that of Alfredo, the Gambling King!

Alfredo's face was full of embarrassment. He had just mocked Ethan and thought the game was uninteresting, but now his face had swollen like he was slapped!

"How... How is your hole card the Ace of Spades? I couldn't have remembered the cards wrong!" Alfredo asked loudly. "And besides, you even challenged me for the first move!"

"Sometimes, you can't trust your own eyes. What they see may not necessarily be the truth. As for challenging you for the first move, that was to make sure you were certain you didn't miscalculate the cards."

"Enough," Ethan said casually, as if he didn't care at all about the matter.

Alfredo's mind was a little dazed, unable to believe what his eyes saw. What should he believe then?

The dealer was hired by the casino and he wouldn't possibly help Ethan cheat. Moreover, in this world, there were very few people who could cheat in front of him!

Bernice stared blankly at Ethan, who was sitting at the gambling table in casual attire, and for a moment, she felt that this person seemed unfamiliar...

"He must have been lucky to win against the Gambling God," Bernice thought to herself.

Alfredo sighed, nodded at Ethan, and said "I've lost!"

He turned to Cara, bowed slightly, and said, "Miss Lee, I apologize for letting you down."

"It's okay..." Cara's face looked extremely unpleasant, but she still had to treat Alfredo with a smile.

Alfredo said to Ethan, "There are always greater talents beyond limits. Today, I understand that! However, I won't be satisfied with this. After honing my skills and experience, I hope to have another chance to challenge Mr. McKellen. Until I surpass him, the title of Gambling God means nothing to me!"

After saying these words, Alfredo bowed to Ethan and then walked away.

The scene erupted in a series of warm applause and cheers.

A smile appeared on Ella's face...

"Miss Lee, I'm sorry for hitting your face." Ethan turned his head and said lightly to Cara.
