Chapter 054 One Hour
Ethan's hands had reached Barbara's airborne body; with a gentle grip, he held onto her shoulders.
Then, he took a step forward and turned his body halfway, effortlessly embracing Barbara in his arms.
The tremendous impact caused his body to momentarily sink, but he did not hesitate and took another step forward, spinning his body to counteract the force of landing.
Barbara, weighing over ninety pounds, had escaped certain death from falling over six meters due to Ethan's intervention.
"Miss, what could possibly make you want to jump off a building?" Ethan asked with a smile.
Barbara was stunned as she stared at Ethan. Dumbfounded and unable to utter a word.
Then, she began to feel disheartened. Why was she still alive? Why hadn't she died?
All she wanted was relief. Why couldn't she even achieve that?
At this moment, Edwin's head appeared from the window. Seeing Ethan holding Barbara, he was astonished, followed by a great sense of joy. He exclaimed, "Fantastic!"
Upon hearing Edwin's words, Joseph was taken aback. How could his son speak like this when his daughter had just jumped off a building?
"Dad, Ethan caught our sister down there. She's safe!" Edwin said excitedly.
"What?!" Joseph was momentarily stunned, then he too ran over and peeked out of the window. Sure enough, he saw Ethan holding Barbara below.
Joseph let out a sigh of relief, his legs feeling weak, as he sat directly on the ground.
Cara and Ryan's faces were incredibly pale. After hearing that Barbara was okay, they couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
"Go home now; I need to go home too." Ethan casually put Barbara down and said indifferently.
Edwin and the others quickly ran downstairs and saw Ethan preparing to leave the courtyard after letting go of Barbara. They couldn't help but be extremely anxious.
"Master, please wait!" Edwin rushed up, wearing a smile on his face.
"What? Are you here to break my legs?" Ethan raised an eyebrow and said sarcastically.
Edwin froze for a moment, then flatteringly smiled and said, "How can that be? Wasn't I just joking with you earlier? How could I possibly do such a thing?"
Ethan said, "Since that's the case, then there's no problem. I have to go."
"Master, please don't leave, please..." Edwin held onto Ethan's arm, preventing him from leaving.
Just now, Ethan had mentioned that Ryan's treatment method was inappropriate and would lead to significant problems. True enough, an incident occurred shortly after.
At this moment, Edwin truly realized that Ethan was not a fraudster but a genuine master! Plus, could an ordinary person easily catch an adult woman falling from a height of six meters? It was inconceivable!
"Please, don't go..."
The mayor didn't look like an important person at all now, with a face full of disappointment and embarrassment.
Ethan calmly said, "Joseph, you made me leave just now, and now you're telling me not to leave. What exactly do you want?"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, it was all my fault! But Barbara is my daughter after all, and because of her, I lost control of my emotions. I hope you can understand..." Joseph quickly bowed to apologize.
Ethan saw the mayor apologize to him without caring about his dignity, and his expression softened slightly. He calmly said, "Alright, I understand. I forgive you, and now I'll go."
"Huh?!" Both father and son were stunned and quickly stopped him.
"Don't... Master, it's our fault for not knowing better. Please don't be angry! You saw my sister's situation, please save her." Edwin pleaded pitifully.
"Master, I wholeheartedly admit I was wrong. Please save my daughter!" Joseph also said.
Ethan fell silent. He wasn't the type of person who could be summoned and dismissed at will.
Joseph cleared his throat and said, "Master, please help us with this favor. Whatever it may be in the future, as long as I can do it, I won't so much as frown!"
Ethan chuckled and shook his head, saying, "Alright, since you've gone to such lengths to ask, I'll figure out a solution."
"Thank you so much!" Joseph showed great respect.
Joseph and Edwin, invited Ethan back to their home. The servants who had just scorned him didn't dare make a sound now.
"Joseph, I'm really sorry. The situation just now caught me off guard..." Ryan walked up, his face full of embarrassment.
"Mr. Thomas, it's not your fault. My daughter's situation is indeed complicated." Joseph sighed and said, "From now on, it's in Master's hands!"
Cara paused and looked at Ethan in astonishment, saying, "Joseph, are you really going to let this fraudster..."
"Fraudster? Nonsense! Hasn't everything he said just now come true? Miss Lee, please don't speak so harshly!" Joseph furrowed his brow and said sternly.
Cara had nothing to say and glared at Ethan with hatred, as she ground her teeth.
Ryan shook his head and said, "There are things I can't handle, can a prison guard handle them?"
"Joseph, I suggest you give me some time to carefully study Miss Miller's case. I'm confident I can come up with an excellent treatment plan."
"If we let him do as he pleases, it could worsen Miss Miller's condition and make our work even more difficult!"
After all, Ryan was an expert. His words made Joseph and Edwin both pause and seriously consider.
"Make your own decision." Ethan looked at Joseph expressionlessly as he spoke calmly.
Joseph couldn't help but grit his teeth and said, "Let Master treat my daughter first!"
Upon hearing this, Ryan's face was filled with disappointment. He looked at Ethan with disdain and said, "You are just lucky. Bringing you here will only worsen the condition."
"I can cure her," Ethan responded coldly.
"You can cure her? Are you kidding me? Even the Italian expert couldn't solve this problem. Who do you think you are, a prison guard, daring to boast like this?" Ryan sneered.
Ethan remained calm and said, "It'll only take an hour."
Initially; Ryan was taken aback, then burst into laughter. "Haha! Now I'm sure you're a fraud! One hour? You must be joking? If you can do it, wouldn't the psychologists all over the world be nothing but a sham?"
Ethan couldn't be bothered to respond. Even Joseph thought he was exaggerating and going too far with his words.
"If you can cure her within an hour, I'll give you five million dollars on the spot!" Ryan said coldly. "But if you can't, you have to kneel down to me, apologize to all the psychologists in the world, and admit that you are a shameless fraud! I hope Joseph can be our witness!"
