Chapter 059 Complete Acquisition
"Bring out your contracts, I'll buy them at the original price!" Ethan took out his bank card and said to the relatives of the Smith family.
One relative stepped forward and handed Ethan a contract worth over 3.8 million dollars. Without hesitation, Ethan lowered his head and started using his phone to transfer the money.
"Pretending to be impressive, it really suits you!" Christine's face was filled with a cold smile as she quietly watched Ethan's performance.
Beside her, Bernice couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated. The situation had escalated, yet Ethan still found the opportunity to show off.
Jane couldn't help but angrily say to Robert, "Look at the son-in-law you've brought in. In such a critical situation, he still acts like a clown!"
Robert was momentarily speechless. Ethan's actions had made him lose some dignity. After all, he was the one who went against everyone's objections and brought Ethan into the Smith family. He had even married him to Bernice.
The relative's phone rang out a message notification, and he picked it up, surprised to find that 3.8 million dollars had already been deposited. Ethan asked him to sign the transfer agreement and waved his hand, saying, "Next!"
"Hahaha, thank you!" the relative happily said.
Seeing that Ethan really had the money to buy their worthless contracts, the relatives swarmed around him, waving their contracts in the air.
Christine was stunned. 3.8 million dollars? Ethan said he could bring it out, but wasn't he just a prison guard? How could he be this wealthy?
Bernice and her family were also taken aback, wondering where Ethan had gotten the money from.
"Christine, it's time for you to fulfill your promise!" Ethan said lightly to Christine.
"You only bought one contract. There are still contracts worth tens of millions of dollars left!" Christine sneered and remained indifferent.
Another relative handed Ethan a contract worth over 8 million dollars, asking him to pay up.
"You were the one who insulted Bernice the most. I'm not very interested in accepting this contract. If you want to trade with me, the condition is that you must give it to Bernice first."
"Apologize!" Ethan said coldly.
The relative was immediately infuriated. Ethan had already turned his head and was dealing with another relative's contract, which was also significant - a transfer of over five million US dollars.
After witnessing this scene, she could only grit her teeth and turn to Bernice, saying, "Bernice, I'm sorry. I went a little too far just now. Please don't take offense!"
Bernice was taken aback, not expecting such an arrogant relative to ever apologize to her.
Just as she was about to respond, the other person had already turned around and yelled at Ethan, "I've already apologized. If you can't come up with the money to purchase this contract, I'll make sure your whole family never finds peace!"
Ethan knew it was impossible to make someone like this truly apologize, but having the other person verbally acknowledge defeat was close enough. After taking the contract, he had her sign the transfer agreement and then directly transferred eight million two hundred thousand US dollars.
"The money's arrived! Eight million and two hundred thousand US dollars, not a penny less! Hahaha... this time, the Jones Group tricked me, but who could have thought there would be a dumbass willing to buy my contract? It's not my loss! I'm leaving first, you can continue... It's great to have a dumbass willing to spend their money to buy our contracts!" After receiving the money, she turned around and walked away, not forgetting to mock Ethan as a dumbass.
Robert couldn't bear it anymore. He walked over and coughed, saying, "Ethan, this money is our debt. You don't need to use your own money to repay it. We will find a way!"
"And besides, the land in Cam Mount is worthless. By purchasing these contracts, it's like throwing your money away..."
Ethan shook his head and smiled at Robert, "Uncle, I've already said it. The land in Cam Mount will definitely appreciate in value. If they don't believe it, that's their problem. When they come begging for the land back, it won't be so easy! Buying it at a low price is equivalent to suddenly receiving a large sum of money. It's up to you not to hinder me from getting rich! And if they cause trouble for you all, I won't just sit idly by."
Jane also quickly said, "That's right! Ethan now has money and can help us solve our troubles. Don't interfere on the sidelines."
After saying this, Ethan continued to purchase contracts.
Bernice watched this scene, unable to find words to say. Norton, whom she had always admired, had actually run away with the money, and it was Ethan, whom she had always looked down upon, who stepped forward to solve the family's problems. This made her doubtful about who had really saved her when she got drunk that day with Jacob.
Was it really Norton? His character of running away with the money made Bernice find it hard to believe now.
Was it Ethan? But Dorothy had already clearly told her that it was Norton who saved her.
As Christine watched Ethan indiscriminately purchase contracts from their relatives, her expression became increasingly ugly.
Feeling outraged, Christine snorted quietly and wanted to leave silently. Ethan, however, saw the scene but couldn't be bothered to speak, pretending he hadn't noticed. Even if Christine didn't leave, she would surely find a plethora of excuses to avoid paying. Just as Ethan won the five million dollars from Ryan, he spent it all, acquiring all of the Smith family's relatives' contracts.
After receiving the money, the relatives beamed with joy and showered praise upon Robert for finding such a great son-in-law. Once the relatives left, Jane approached with a smile and said, "Ethan, our family still has contracts worth over thirty million dollars. How about you buy them as well?"
Ethan paused, unable to speak before Robert scolded, "Jane, Ethan has already helped us solve the problem and lost so much money. How can you bear to cheat him?"
"He said the land would appreciate on its own!" Jane couldn't help but roll her eyes and continued, "I'm just helping him become rich."
Seeing that Robert was truly furious, Jane dared not say anything further and could only silently curse in her heart as she walked away.
Robert sighed at Ethan and said, "We didn't listen to you in the beginning, and now we have to trouble you again. We feel really guilty."
"Uncle, there's no need to be polite. In fact, you've benefited from this. Soon, you'll realize how valuable the Cam Mount land in your hands really is!" Ethan said with a smile.
Jane hastily said, "You heard him, quickly bring out all the contracts and let him purchase them."
Bernice also felt it was too unfair, coughed, and said, "Mom, let's drop this matter. Let's hold on to those thirty million dollars' worth of contracts ourselves. Maybe there really is room for appreciation, just as he said..."
"Cam Mount won't appreciate at all!" Jane said angrily, rolling her eyes. Ethan felt a bit helpless. Mayor Joseph himself had just told him that Cam Mount would be developed into a commercial zone, and the land value would undoubtedly skyrocket!
