"Miss Cara, I am truly grateful for your concern about my daughter's illness!"

Joseph expressed his gratitude to Cara. Regardless of Cara's motives, she had spared no expense to bring in a top expert like Ryan from Italy. This heartfelt gesture was beyond doubt.

Cara simply smiled faintly.

The Aim Group was a leading company in Boston, and as an outsider, she needed to build good relationships with the local authorities if she wanted to swallow up The Aim Group.

Coming from New York, Cara had her pride. Although Joseph was only the mayor, he had connections. Therefore, it was necessary for her to make connections with him, or else she wouldn't have gone through the trouble of inviting an expert from Italy.

"Master, you're here too..." Joseph approached Ethan upon seeing him and shook his hand.

Ethan nodded and said, "I wanted to express my gratitude to the mayor, so when I received the call, I came immediately!"

Initially, Joseph thought Ethan to be arrogant, but now, hearing his words, he couldn't help but feel that this young man understood social etiquette well. A smile appeared on Joseph's face.

"Dad, did you bring this young man here for Barbara's treatment?" Joseph's eldest son, Edwin, frowned.

"Yes, this is the Master I mentioned to you." Joseph nodded. "Why don't you come over and say hello?"

"Master? So young? He's probably just a con artist!" Edwin paused, then sneered and outright refused.

Upon hearing Joseph's words, Cara was also taken aback, then asked, "Mayor, did you make a mistake? I know this person. He's just a prison guard. How could he possibly be a master?"

Ryan, the expert, also couldn't help but smile and shook his head. "Unless it's so easy to infiltrate the academic circles in America, where any random prison guard can impersonate a master in front of the mayor?"

Edwin approached directly, sneering, and said, "I don't care how you managed to deceive my father. But I advise you to restrain yourself, or else if anything happens to my sister..."

Joseph's expression turned unpleasant, and he said in a deep voice, "Edwin, you shall not be disrespectful to the Master!"

Edwin dared not say anything further, but still disdainfully pursed his lips, especially after Cara revealed Ethan's true identity. He became even more contemptuous!

Just a prison guard, what has he accomplished compared to the expert Cara had brought, who was renowned in Italy?

Definitely, he must have deceived his father in order to make him believe! "Although Master is a prison guard, his skills are quite impressive," Joseph said seriously.

Cara glanced at Ethan, sneered twice, and said nothing more.

Ethan also observed Cara. Her fair and smooth skin, delicate features, and elegant mature woman aura caught his attention.

"My daughter Barbara has suffered from a serious mental illness since her mother passed away. She has undergone numerous treatments, but to no avail. Recently, her condition has worsened, with several instances of waking up in the middle of the night and even attempting suicide... Fortunately, they were all caught in time, or the consequences would be unimaginable."

"So, I hope Mr. Thomas and Master will do their best to cure her. If that's not possible, at least diagnose the issue..."

"Due to work reasons, I haven't been able to spend time with her, and I feel very sorry for her... If something were to happen to her again, I wouldn't even deserve to be called her father!"

Joseph spoke with the sincerity of a father. Although his words were simple, one could sense the depth of his emotions.

Ryan nodded and said, "I have dealt with similar cases in Italy. While I can't guarantee a complete recovery, easing her symptoms is absolutely possible!"

A smile appeared on Cara's face. If Ryan could achieve success in this matter, it would undoubtedly earn her support for her future development in Boston. This would be a great advantage for her to acquire the Aim Group!

Joseph didn't say much either and led the group directly to the entrance of a room. Upon opening the door, they were greeted with darkness, the windows hidden behind thick curtains.

A woman in pajamas curled up on the bed, hugging her legs. Her hair was disheveled, and she exuded an aura of isolation from the world.

"Barbara, Daddy has come to see you and brought a new friend..." Joseph forced a smile, his voice trembling.

Barbara, in her curled-up state, showed no response or interest. No one could have guessed that she was the daughter of the mayor!

Ryan had already reviewed Barbara's case and immediately approached her, smiling as he said, "Barbara, I'm your good friend. Do you remember? We used to ride bicycles together when we were kids..."

Indeed, Ryan lived up to his reputation as an Italian expert. With just one sentence, Barbara lifted her head, and he continued to lead the conversation, guiding Barbara's emotions.

"Do you see? This is the real expert!" Edwin walked up to Ethan, snorting coldly.

Ethan remained silent, his hands in his pockets, quietly observing Ryan guiding Barbara. However, his eyebrows unconsciously furrowed slightly.

After ten minutes, Barbara finally spoke a few sentences to Ryan.

Just two short sentences, but it lifted Joseph's spirits!

Edwin nodded in satisfaction. In the past month, his sister had hardly spoken at all. This was the first time she had opened her mouth!

Barbara closed her eyes and leaned against the headboard, feeling slightly drowsy. Ryan was using language hypnosis on her, attempting to implant some subconscious thoughts into her mind.

"Stop! If you continue like this, you'll harm her!" Ethan couldn't bear to watch any longer and said sternly.

"Her condition is already dire, and the cause of her illness stems from her late mother. Someone is also secretly casting spells to harm her. Your guidance in this manner will only worsen her mental distress and strengthen her suicidal tendencies."

Ethan's voice suddenly interrupted Ryan, but Barbara had already slipped into a half-awake, half-dreaming state.

Ryan turned to Joseph, discontented, and said, "Mayor, please ask this fraud to leave immediately and not disturb my treatment!"

Cara frowned as well and said, "Ethan, if you're incompetent, that's fine. But don't joke with Miss Miller's life and seek attention here."

Edwin's face turned red with anger, gritting his teeth he said, "Can't you see that my sister's condition is gradually improving? I think you're just a con artist, afraid that Mr. Thomas will truly cure her and expose your deception to my father. Get out right now. If you dare to disturb Mr. Thomas again, I'll break your legs and make you crawl to the hospital yourself! My sister's life is a hundred times more important than yours. If her condition worsens, I'll bury your whole family with her!"
