Chapter 056 Pay up or Kneel

Ethan looked at Ryan with a baffled expression and exclaimed, "Shouldn't it be you obediently handing over the five million dollars to me?"

Upon hearing this, Ryan's face turned dark, and he angrily retorted, "Are you trying to back out of the deal?"

"I think it's you who's trying to back out of the deal!" Ethan said sternly.

Joseph entered the room at this moment and saw Barbara sitting on the bed, but she didn't have the same curled-up posture as before.

He couldn't help but slightly freeze, then whispered, "Barbara, are you feeling better?!"

Barbara lifted her head and nodded at Joseph, saying, "Dad, I just had a dream about Mom..."

Joseph also realized this and quickly said to Ethan, "Master, thank you so much! I am immensely grateful to you! Once again, you have solved a difficult problem that many people couldn't solve. I don't know how to repay you!"

"It's not possible, this can't be true..." Ryan still couldn't believe it and murmured, "You must have conspired together to deceive me!"

"Mr. Thomas, watch your words!" Joseph's expression turned sour, and he spoke in a deep voice.

Ryan questioned loudly, "There is absolutely no one in this world who can cure a severely depressed patient within an hour. You must have conspired to deceive me and take my money!"

Ethan couldn't help but let out a sneer. Barbara's depression had a reason behind it, as she constantly had nightmares in which her mother blamed her.

But in reality, someone was using black magic to harm her. Ethan found the root cause and resolved it directly, so it was not surprising that Barbara recovered so quickly.

"You despicable Americans, resorting to such methods to deceive an honorable Italian like me! Your country is filled with scammers and pseudoscience, willing to do anything for money..." Ryan shouted and yelled.

Joseph became furious and slapped Ryan across the face.

"Mr. Thomas, you can criticize us, but do not insult our motherland! You used to be an American yourself! Don't forget your ancestors just because you have a new nationality and belittle your own country!" Joseph said sternly.

Cara, sensing the situation was turning sour, quickly stepped in and rebuked, "Ryan, your words are out of line. Don't forget that you were also an American!"

Joseph coldly added, "If I hear such words again, I guarantee you won't be able to leave Boston!"

Ryan finally realized that he was in America, not Italy, and the government officials here possessed immeasurable power, just like emperors. If he managed to truly anger the mayor, he probably wouldn't be able to escape.

"$5 million, give it to me!" Ethan smiled at Ryan and extended his hand.

Ryan looked utterly defeated as he took out his bank card from his pocket and handed it over to Ethan, dejectedly saying, "The password is six zeros!"

Ethan handed it directly to Edwin and gave him his own bank card as well, saying, "Could you do me a favor and transfer the money into my account?"
