Chapter 016 The Extent of Misfortune

"Miss, how is it going? Did you meet Oliver?!" Michelle asked excitedly as Diana returned to the villa.

Diana idolized the King of the Nightmare. After all, his life was too legendary, full of excitement, and it sparked countless imaginations.

Diana shook her head in disappointment and said, "He should be inside the villa but was unwilling to see me."

Michelle sighed and said, "It's probably because of what happened in the past, he doesn't want to meet anyone!"

Diana replied, "Hopefully, he can overcome his trauma soon. Our country needs someone like him."

Michelle agreed wholeheartedly and felt a tinge of regret that Diana couldn't meet the real Oliver.

The night passed.

The following day, Ethan received a call from Dorothy early in the morning. Dorothy said, "Mr. McKellen, Bernice went to the Dragon Chamber of Commerce to solve the problem with Jacob. Would you want to pay attention to this?"

Upon hearing this, Ethan immediately hung up and hurried to the Dragon Chamber of Commerce.

Dorothy stood there dumbfounded, holding her phone and cursing, "What the hell, hanging up so quickly!"

Meanwhile, Bernice had already arrived outside the headquarters building of the Dragon Chamber of Commerce and met Jacob as they had planned over the phone.

"Miss Smith, you're really punctual!" Jacob smirked when he saw Bernice.

There were some scars on his face, left by Ethan. Seeing Bernice alone, he felt somewhat disappointed.

He had already prepared his backup plan. If Ethan dared to show up, with his command, he could have Ethan killed.

Apologetically, Bernice said, "Jacob, I apologize for what happened the other day. Nobody wanted things to escalate that far, so I hope you won't take it personally."

Jacob reached into his pocket, he took out a room card and said, "Let's go and talk in the hotel next door."

After seeing the room card, Bernice's expression changed involuntarily, and she said in a deep voice, "What does this mean, Jacob?"

"What does it mean? You said you wanted me to give you a chance to resolve this matter, and now I'm giving you that chance!" Jacob sneered.

“Follow me to the hotel next door and serve me well. If you can make me feel comfortable, I will allow you to sit down and have a proper conversation. Otherwise, your company, the Smith Group, can expect to be squeezed and go bankrupt.

“Hmm... Your lips are pretty, I like them. Remember to focus on pleasing me here.”

Bernice's face turned pale and she trembled as she spoke, "Jacob... this... this isn't appropriate. I am a married woman..."

"I just like married women, they're capable and obedient. Plus, it humiliates their husbands, which feels great!" Jacob said.

Bernice shook her head in fear and said, "Jacob, we can negotiate other matters, but not like this..."

Jacob shrugged and said, "So, there's nothing to talk about then? You don't want an opportunity to sit down with me on equal terms and resolve this matter properly?"

Thinking about the aggressive attitude of her Uncle Mason and cousin Christine from the day before, Bernice couldn't help but lower her head and said with a sense of helplessness, "Of course, I want that, but your conditions are too demanding."

"Too demanding? I am willing to give you an opportunity because I respect you. Instead of quickly undressing and entertaining me willingly, you still want to negotiate with me?" Jacob sneered and reached out to lift Bernice's chin.

His fingers had just touched Bernice's delicate chin when she instinctively raised her hand and slapped Jacob across the face.

"Smack!"

After delivering that slap, Bernice froze, and so did Jacob.

Touching his stinging cheek, Jacob's eyes flashed with a ferocious look, and he retaliated with a powerful slap!

"You b*tch, if you don't accept an offering, you'll face the consequences!" Jacob's slap sent Bernice collapsing to the ground, her head buzzing and her vision blurred.

The slap left her disoriented, and tears began streaming down her face.

Jacob reached out and grabbed her shoulder, dragging her off the ground towards the hotel, sneering, "Today, you must serve me well. This is the opportunity I'm giving you, and you cannot refuse!"

"I... I will definitely call the police to arrest you!" Bernice exclaimed in shock.

"Arrest me? Who dares to arrest me!" Jacob sneered.

Before he could finish his sentence, a figure appeared and swiftly pushed away the hand that Jacob had on Bernice's shoulder, followed by a forceful kick that sent him flying.

Jacob's body folded in mid-air and landed on his knees two meters away with a loud thud. Then, his knees hit the ground, and he remained there, motionless.

The ground shook.

"Are you asking for trouble?" Ethan asked with a sneer as he kicked Jacob away. With his hands in his pockets, maintaining the posture of his kick, he scornfully spoke these words.

Jacob fell to the ground, writhing in pain, spitting out stomach acid and bile.

"What the hell? Isn't that Jacob from the Dragon Chamber of Commerce? He got kicked by someone?"

"Am I hallucinating? Jacob is always the one who beats others up, but today, he got beat up?"

"This guy is done for. He dared to kick Jacob? Even Jesus can't save him!"

Bernice was supported by Ethan, her swollen face causing his expression to darken slightly.

She sarcastically and coldly addressed him, not even looking at him, but he didn't complain.

This girl, who couldn't bring herself to speak harshly, he dared to lay a hand on her? Jacob had crossed the line!

"You... you're fucking done for! How dare you lay a hand on me in front of the Dragon Chamber of Commerce's entrance! Even God himself can't save you now," Jacob gasped, his anger reached its peak.

Bernice's expression completely changed, and she warned Ethan in extreme fear, "Run, run as far as you can now! I'm not joking, you have truly caused a big disaster!"

Ethan, however, remained indifferent. The person who caused a real catastrophe is currently locked up in his Sydney prison. What did this incident matter?

"Who is this boy? How dare he attack a member of the Dragon Chamber of Commerce's management right at their entrance? Does he not value his life?"

"The Dragon Chamber of Commerce was established by Mr. David himself. The President lives up to his name, quite ruthless..."

"This is a serious matter. If this boy doesn't run away immediately, he'll probably be torn limb to limb!"

Bernice continued to urge Ethan to flee, which warmed Ethan's heart slightly.

Although Bernice didn't show any kindness towards him, at this crucial moment, she was still being considerate of his safety.

Of course, Ethan hoped that this wasn't just wishful thinking on his part.

Across the street, inside a coffee shop, Dorothy sat wearing sunglasses, holding a cup of Blue Mountain coffee worth over three hundred dollars, silently observing everything.

When she saw Ethan kick Jacob, she couldn't help but raise her cup and take a sip, trying to suppress the shock within her.

"She's right, you've caused a huge disaster!" Jacob sneered as he stood up, already pulling out his phone.

Without changing his expression, Ethan calmly walked toward him and slapped him.

""Whackkk! ""

The scene of a slap on Jacob's face shocked Dorothy, almost causing her coffee cup to fall to the ground.
