Chapter 049 No More Ties

When Ethan had just captured Eric, Jack hesitated to act. But now that Ethan had let him go, Jack had no reason to hold back.

Just as Jack was about to make his move, a shockingly powerful aura suddenly swept in from outside.

"...General Walsh!"

The members of the Smith family also saw the person coming in and were astonished, stumbling over their words.

The person entering from outside was Diana, dressed in black military attire, hair tied in a ponytail, and on each shoulder, she carried two shining gold stars!

"Haven't you heard me speaking?" Diana asked, her tone slightly displeased.

Only at this point did the members of the Smith family numbly stand up, and some even bent down to rub their knees, which were still aching.

Ethan slightly curled his lips, not expecting Diana to interfere in his affairs. He couldn't help feeling annoyed and took two steps back.

Seeing this, Bernice wrinkled her brows fiercely, feeling a sense of anger. "This guy has caused a big mess. Now even General Walsh is alarmed. And only now does he know fear? A useless coward!"

Diana's face remained cold and indifferent as she looked at everyone and didn't speak further.

The members of the Smith family felt uneasy, unsure of the reason for Diana's presence. However, it didn't seem like she had any ill intentions.

"Today's events end here!" After a moment, Diana finally spoke.

With her appearance, she instantly became the center of the whole world. All eyes were on her, waiting for her to speak.

Upon hearing Diana's words, Eric couldn't even catch his breath.

After a pause, he exclaimed angrily, "General Walsh, look at me now. Are you suggesting we end things here?!"

Jack added, "General Walsh, this is not in line with the rules!"

Diana said coldly, "I've already found out everything. Eric, you had ill intentions toward Bernice, which led to all these subsequent events. You were at fault in the beginning, so don't pretend to be the victim. I'm not buying it."

Eric sneered, "Ethan insulted me, and you expect me to let it slide? What about the dignity of the Hawker family?"

Ethan had retreated to a corner, clearly wanting to avoid any further interaction with Diana. However, to outsiders, he appeared afraid.

"General Walsh's actions have become unreasonable," Jack also commented.

With a cold snort, Diana's gaze turned electric as she looked at Jack and asked, "Do you want to teach me how to handle things?!"

Even Jack, who usually displayed a fierce demeanor, didn't dare to show off in front of this woman hailed as America's War Goddess. He grunted and remained silent.

"You were at fault, so getting punched was well deserved. This matter will tarnish the reputation of the Hawker family. And since I've already stated this is the end, who dares not to listen? Anyone who disobeys can give it a try," Diana eloquently emphasized, her voice reverberating throughout the room.

Although her voice sounded calm, her undeniable dominance made it impossible for anyone to consider opposing her.

She was a woman who could make all the men in the country lower their heads!

Eric couldn't help but grit his teeth. Diana had interfered in this matter and spoke with such dominance. If he didn't back down now, he would surely suffer!

Moreover, the situation had escalated to this point because of his ill intentions towards Bernice. If Diana exposed the matter, it wouldn't look good for the entire Hawker family.

No matter how he thought about it, he would end up at a disadvantage!

"All right, today I'll respect you. If you want to protect this trash and the Smith family, I have no objections! However, if this trash provokes me again in the future, even if they were the emperor, don't blame me for taking their life! The Hawker family won't easily retreat!" Eric coldly snorted and turned to Jack, saying, "Deputy housekeeper, we need to find an opportunity to kill him!"

Jack nodded and agreed to this task.

After Eric and his men left, the Smith family felt relieved.

"Thank you, General Walsh, for your help!" Robert bowed directly to Diana to express his gratitude. If it weren't for Diana, the Smith family would have been done for this time.

Diana nodded silently, looking at Ethan calmly. She said, "After this incident, we are even. I hope we don't have any more entanglements between us."

Ethan's face was unpleasant. He felt that Diana intentionally ruined his mood. If it weren't for her timely arrival, he would have killed Eric and Jack right here today.

After hearing these words, everyone was surprised and looked at Ethan.

"Ethan used to be the young master of the McKellen family and had some connection with General Walsh," Robert coughed and explained.

Everyone understood after hearing this, and instead, they looked down upon Ethan even more. Now that Ethan was no longer the young master of the McKellen family and had used up Diana's favor, would he dare to be so arrogant in the future?!

Robert wanted to invite Diana to stay for dinner, but she shook her head and left directly.

Jane interjected, "Honey, you're too stubborn... Bernice, you have the most say in this matter. What do you think?"

"I agree with Dad. I can't repay kindness with enmity," Bernice said coldly, her face expressionless."
